DealDash’s Family Friendly New Year’s Eve Ideas

DealDash

You don’t have to be a party person to enjoy New Year’s Eve. Here are some family friendly ideas from DealDash to give you some ideas for your evening.

There comes a time for all of us when the idea of going out to spend the night in a crowded bar just isn’t appealing anymore. If you’re like me, spending the night with your family is a much better option. Read on for some suggestions from DealDash to enjoy the night with your family.

PJ Day for Everyone

Firstly, everyone loves wearing PJs, so an idea is to make it a pajama party for the kids. And also this makes life so much easier when you have to carry them to bed. The kids are already comfy and prepared, so you can just lay them down, pull the covers up, and let them doze back off. Also, this is an especially good plan for the type of person who is super excited to stay up until midnight but just can’t quite make it that late.

Invite Friends and Family for a Potluck Dinner

Next, we like to start the night with a bit of a potluck so that no one person has all of the work. As a result, many hands make the lifting light, as they say. We typically try to have an early dinner so that there is time for the kids to take a quick nap. Truth be told, some of our adults sneak a nap in as well. When you make it a pajama party, everyone can nap!

Special New Year’s Treats

Finally, our family really enjoys baking, so we make some sort of dessert every year that the family eats after the ball drops. It may be cookies with glittery sprinkles or it may be something someone found online. Therefore, the only rule is that the kids have to have some type of role in the process. My daughter loves to decorate with frosting and sprinkles.

Over the years, we’ve found that having a toast is a favorite tradition for our family. We give everyone their drink of choice (including milk or juice for the kids) so that anyone can take part. There’s a very short speech, and we raise our glass. It brings everyone together and allows people to offer a quick message.

Also, if you want to keep the energy up for most of the night, try watching “the ball drop” across the world. It’s really cool to see how everyone celebrates, and Saudi Arabia typically has one of the most beautiful shows imaginable. You won’t be disappointed.

Be sure to visit DealDash on New Year’s Eve and Day for special promotions and sales. DealDash has everything you need for your home and family. Visit now! Good luck and happy bidding everyone!

DealDash Holiday – Plan for Valentine’s Day NOW

DealDash

Now is the perfect time to make special plans for your sweetie’s Valentine’s Day surprise. A romantic trip is a sure-fire winner.

I know what you’re thinking – “Valentine’s Day?! It’s not even January!”. However, if you want to take your love on a special trip this year it’s important to plan and book early. There are a lot of vacation spots that are considered the perfect spot for romance. With so many to choose from it can be hard to pick the right one. Here are a few romantic vacation spots from DealDash that you will love.

Bermuda

Not only is Bermuda a beautiful island with pink sand beaches, it’s also relatively close. This is especially true if you live on the East Coast! From Boston or New York it’s a quick 2-2.5-hour flight that is fairly inexpensive. This means that you can fly in and out for a long romantic weekend without breaking the bank. Bermuda has many romantic and cozy restaurants and the people are so polite and friendly there.

You and your Valentine will have an amazing time, even if it might be a little chilly at this time of year. In February the temperatures are in the low 60’s, which is positively toasty if you’re somewhere that is currently covered in snow and ice!

Napa Valley, California

Valentine’s Day and wine go hand-in-hand. Why not get romantic and sip wine on Valentine’s Day from the source! Napa Valley is known for being THE spot for wine in California. There are vineyards and luxury hotels galore. Not only is Napa Valley a romantic spot for wine, but there are also many cozy restaurants that are just perfect for you and your sweetie. You might not be able to do any outdoor swimming in February, as the temperatures are typically in the 60’s, but you can certainly use the hot tub or indoor pool at your hotel. Follow that up with some wine and dessert, and you have an awesome romantic Valentine’s Day trip.

Orlando, Florida

You might not know this, but Orlando isn’t just for family vacations! There are quite a few romantic experiences to be had in sunny Orlando. There are romantic hotels that offer couple’s massages, wineries that offer special Valentine’s wine and cheese nights, and a fondue tour for two at a local chocolate factory. Surprisingly, Orlando has the warmest temperatures of the list – February boasts temperatures in the mid-70’s.

DealDash Has Travel Supplies

Before you leave for your romantic Valentine’s Day trip you will need to make sure that you and your honey have everything packed and ready. DealDash Helps: Saving Money in the New Year

DealDash

With the new year quickly approaching you should think about your budget in 2020. Don’t worry, DealDash has some suggestions for you.

The new year is just a week or so away and you should be ready to save more money in the upcoming year. It takes both self-control and discipline to save money, especially if you are a shopper or have kids that have many needs and wants. Saving more money and spending less money is difficult but can be done. Here are a few ways to save money in 2020, from DealDash.

Save Spare Coins (Even Digitally!)

If you are a person who still carries and uses cash, this will be very simple for you. Create a jar for your change. Each time you go shopping and the cashier hands you your money back, you should save the change that you receive in your change jar. Creating a change jar is a smart way to save money. However, if you are like many people, you might do most of your transactions digitally these days. No problem!

There are many free apps out there for both Android and iOS that will “save” your “change” for you each time you use your card to pay. You can set them to save just the “change” or any amount that you choose for each transaction – for example you might want to save $1 for each transaction. You can transfer this saved money into your account whenever you choose. Some banks actually offer this for their debit cards and it deposits the change directly into your savings account. This is a great way to build up savings without doing too much planning.

Buy Your Essentials on DealDash

DealDash is known for having auctions for fancy and expensive products like cars, vacations, and other luxury items. However, they also offer many items that are used in daily life such as irons, pet bowls, reading glasses and make-up brushes. In other words, things that most people typically buy for their homes and replace every so often. Click here to check out the current items up for bid.

A wonderful way to save money in the new year is to stop making these small-to-medium purchases in the store and getting them on DealDash, instead. When you bid on these items on DealDash you earn “clock time” that is saved towards free bids, and you also have the opportunity of either winning or BINnning (Buy It Now) the item. If you win, awesome! That’s money saved right there! If you don’t win and BIN instead, you get the item at it’s listed price, free shipping, and you get to keep the clock time you earned. You can always find the listed BIN price on each auction page in the upper left corner above the picture of the item.

Limit Restaurants to Weekends

Eating breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner out a few times per week takes a lot of money. This is especially true if you are feeding multiple family members. You should cook more meals at home and bring your lunch to school or work. You will definitely save money by choosing to pack your own lunch (and kid’s/spouses) and cooking your own dinner instead of ordering takeout.

Of course, you don’t want to deprive yourself, either! In my family, we limit eating in restaurants to dinner out on Saturday night and brunch out on Sunday. We used to eat in restaurants or get take-out 3+ days of the week. However, with 5 people in our family, it was very expensive and unhealthy. This works better for us, give it a try!

DealDash Cooks: Use Your Crockpot in Winter

DealDash

One of my favorite parts of cooler weather is being able to use my crockpot. It makes dinner so easy! Follow these tips from DealDash and make great crockpot dinners.

Using a crockpot or slow cooker is an excellent way to prepare meals, especially in cold weather. By spending around 15-20 minutes in the morning, you can end up with a delicious homecooked meal at the end of the day. Read on for some tips on using your slow cooker, from DealDash.

Tough Meat? No Problem!

A wonderful benefit of using a crockpot to prepare your dinner is that you can prepare tougher meat in your crockpot. This is also a great money-saver because the tougher cuts of meat are often much less expensive than the tender ones. A good rule of thumb for using the crockpot is you should cook the food on either low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 4-6 hours. When you are preparing tougher cuts of meat, use the low setting for more tender meat.

Don’t Drown Your Dinner

A common misconception about the crockpot is that you need to use a lot of liquids. This actually isn’t true. The crockpot will gather all the moisture that it needs on its own with only a small amount of extra liquid being required – the extra liquid does not boil off like in a regular pot. If you food is coming out too liquidy, then take the top off in the final hour of cooking and most of the liquid will evaporate.

Pre-Cook Your veggies

If you are using root vegetables such as carrots or even potatoes, you will want to consider pre-cooking them. This can be as simple as cutting them up, putting them in a bowl with some water, and microwaving them for 5-6 minutes. Personally, when I have the time, I like to saute my veggies in a pan before I put them in the slow cooker. However, this obviously adds extra time and prep, so you might want to use the microwave instead.

Get Your Small Appliances on DealDash

The Kitchen and Dining category on DealDash is one of my favorites. You will find slow cookers, stand mixers, and other small appliances there. Click here to check out the slow cookers. You will find so many wonderful items there, such as woks, toasters, and even the ever-popular air fryers. Just click here and you can see everything in my favorite category.

Thanks for Reading

Save money and make easy and tasty dinners with your slow cooker.  When choosing a new small appliance for your kitchen you should consider what a wonderful kitchen tool the slow cooker is for dinner. Thanks for reading this DealDash article on the slow cooker.

Do you need kitchen items? Go check DealDash for small appliances like slow cookers and food dehydrators. Visit now to see how much you can save. Have a great time on DealDash and happy bidding everyone!
