Alternately, you could install some inexpensive indoor/outdoor carpet that would protect your floor and also be gentle on your feet. Also, you should also remove things from the room that don’t fit into the gym aesthetic – you don’t want a nice soft, comfy couch in there. There would be too much lounging and not enough sweating!

Additionally, if you are a beginner, you will also want to prepare yourself as well as the room. You always want to talk to your doctor before you start a workout program. Firstly, I feel like if you are actually hungry, something like a carrot or apple doesn’t really make you feel less hungry. For example, you can put carrot and celery sticks, apple wedges, and pepper rings on a plate together and it’s not only cute and colorful, but feels like more of a meal since you are having multiple colors, textures, and both sweet and savory.

Next, if you aren’t feeling like plain cut up fruits and veggies, here are a couple of snacks that are a little more creative:

Cut up veggies, but with homemade ranch dip!! Having a ranch dip on the side makes your snack feel more like a party! It’s very simple to make, you just need ranch powder and low-fat sour cream. Your homemade ranch dip will only take a couple of minutes to make and has less than 100 calories.

Homemade trail mix. Now, don’t try and take a “shortcut” by getting a pre-made trail mix at the store, it’s full of fat, calories, and sugar. That’s not the healthy snack that we are looking for. Make it yourself at home. Instead of peanuts, use almonds. Instead of milk chocolate bits, use a very tiny amount of cut-up dark chocolate. You can also add lots of raisins, dried cranberries, dried apple slices, and dried strawberries. This trail mix is delicious and much healthier than the original version.

Homemade salsa is both delicious and healthy. There are tons of different recipes out there, but the base of most of them are crushed tomatoes, garlic, lime, salt, and green peppers. All of those items, with the exception of salt, are extremely healthy! Just use a pinch of salt or even one of the “salt alternatives” that you can find in the spices section at the supermarket.
