DealDash Cooks: Hard-Boiled Eggs

DealDash

If you’re looking for delicious and nutritious, you’ve come to the right place! Read all about hard-boiled eggs in this new article from DealDash.

Hard-boiled eggs are the perfect food for the on-the-go person who is looking to eat healthily. Whether you have time to make a meal or not, adding hard-boiled eggs to your list of options is a great idea. Read on for some “egg”cellent suggestions, from DealDash.

Making the Eggs

To start off, making hard-boiled eggs is surprisingly easy. First, place the eggs in a pot and cover them with water. The water should reach, roughly, an inch above the eggs. Increase the heat to bring the water to a boil, then let the water do the work. The real trick here is to figure out how long to cook them. A “hard-boiled” egg needs to be cooked for about 8 minutes. This leaves the yolk and the egg-white firm. If you’d like a bit of a runny yolk, you can cook the egg for as little as 4 minutes.

Now that you know how to boil an egg, we want to point out a few ways that you can take advantage of having these eggs on hand. The best way to take advantage of having hard-boiled eggs on hand is to simply cut them open and add a bit of salt or pepper for flavor.

Make Egg Salad for a Sandwich

If you’re looking for other options, you can make an easy egg salad by cutting the eggs up and adding mayonnaise, salt and pepper. Sometimes I like to add celery or onion to it as well. You can find a number of recipes online for egg salad that doesn’t use mayonnaise at all. I’ve found that using avocados in my egg salad eliminates the need for mayonnaise altogether. It also makes the salad extra creamy.

Salads are Better With Eggs

Hard-boiled eggs make a great addition to any salad. I like to cut them in half or quarters and place them on top. Using hard-boiled eggs is most common in a chef salad, but I like adding them to my Cobb salads too.

WIN or BIN Cooking Supplies from DealDash

Kitchen and Dining is one of my favorite DealDash categories. You will find things such as small appliances, cutlery, and decorative kitchen items. If you don’t win an auction for the kitchen item you wanted, don’t despair. DealDash has a handy “Buy It Now” option on each item. You can always BIN (Buy It Now), by paying BIN price for the item and you will receive all of your bids back that you spent on that item. So, if you bid on a kitchen item that you are planning on buying anyway, you are bidding with no risk to your wallet. When you BIN the item you want you will receive each and every bid back that you spent on that particular auction.

DealDash Speeds Up Your Cooking

DealDash

Who wants to spend all day in the kitchen? Use these handy suggestions from DealDash to reduce the amount of time you spend in the kitchen.

Most people are constantly looking for ways to prepare great-tasting food without having to spend all day in the kitchen. I have good news for you – you can speed up the time that you spend in the kitchen and still make delicious food. Here are a few suggestions from DealDash that can help you save time in the kitchen.

Things Go Smoothly When You’re Prepared

Firstly, you can save a lot of time cooking if you have prepared your ingredients and equipment you need before you begin food preparation. When you prepare everything ahead of time, you will be organized and able to focus. Personally, what seems to waste the most time when I am preparing food is not having everything close by and ready to use. Save time – be prepared!

Take Advantage of “One Pot” Dishes

Another great way to save time in the kitchen is by making meals that require fewer pots and pans. This will help you keep your kitchen neat and clean by not having cooking implements all over the counters. It will also save you time when it comes to clean-up and washing the dishes. If you take a quick peek online you will find tons of recipes that only require one pot or pan to prepare.

Save Time by Shopping on DealDash

Finally, one of the best ways to save time is by getting your kitchen items on DealDash. You can bid on items for the kitchen without even being at your computer! Simply input as many bids as you would like to spend into your Bid Buddy, and he will do the bidding for you. If you don’t win the auction, you can always buy the item using the BIN (Buy It Now) button, and you will receive all of your bids back. You will receive fast and free shipping on items both won and purchased on DealDash. Just click right here to check out the Kitchen and Dining category.

DealDash Gets Creative With Chili

DealDash

Chili is perfect for a winter meal. Here are some ideas from DealDash to get creative with your chili.

Chili is one of those go-to meals that people love when it’s cold outside. I like to think outside the box with my chili. I try to take advantage of the mix of flavors to make the food a little healthier. The best part is, my family doesn’t even realize it! Read on for some helpful tips from DealDash.

Try something Heart-Healthy

Most people don’t think about how much fat goes into a bowl of chili. Using the “typical” ground beef that people buy, you could have as much as 10 grams of fat per cup. Switching to ground turkey can cut that to about 6 grams of fat per cup. I realize that doesn’t sound like much, but let’s be honest, how many people eat a cup of chili? Everyone in my family has a habit of going back for more!

If you’re really stuck on the idea of having ground beef, look at the lean mixes. You can find ground beef that is 97% lean and only 3% fat. Another great idea is to try using venison. It’s one of my favorites!

Sneak in some vegetables

Chili is the perfect food for disguising new vegetables inside. Everyone knows that you can add corn or carrots to your chili without your child even noticing. You can also try adding something like different types of zucchini or squash. Generally, the number of ingredients can hide most textures or flavors that a picky eater would take issue with. Simply blend them up in your food processor and add them to the chili while it’s cooking.

Find something new

Chili is good for hiding anything, not just vegetables. Are you worried that your family won’t like whole-wheat pasta? Go ahead and add it into your chili; they’ll never know! The sauce may even cover up the color of the noodles. Thinking about trying a new cheese? You can spread a bit of that on the chili too. The texture of goat cheese seems to disappear inside of a bowl of chili.

Get Small Appliances on DealDash

You can cook chili on your stovetop in a pot or in a slow cooker. If you are looking for a slow cooker or even a whole new set of pots and pans, look no further than DealDash! You will find other small appliances as well such as stand mixers and blenders. To browse the entire Kitchen and Dining category click here. Or, if you just want to see the slow cookers, click here.

Thanks for Reading the Blog

Chili is one of my favorite meals to make. Whether you make it on the stove or in a crockpot, it’s so simple. It’s also a very forgiving meal. If you want to try a new technique or a new idea, chili will let you test it out without being perfect.

Now that you’re in the mood for chili, check out the kitchen auctions on DealDashVisit DealDash now to see what’s new in the Kitchen and Dining category. Thanks for reading and happy bidding, everyone!

DealDash Cooks: Next Level Christmas Cookies

DealDash

Classic Christmas cookies are delicious, but why not take them up a notch? DealDash has some great cookie ideas for you.

Christmas cookies have become a staple of the holidays, but everyone makes the same old Christmas cookies. Sure, we could tell you to try new cookie cutters and create different shapes, but we’d like to look at going a step further. Read on for some tasty unique cookie ideas, from DealDash.

Airbrush Your Sugar Cookies

If you really like your sugar cookies, consider ways to step up your game a bit. Rather than using sprinkles, consider diving into the world of icing or airbrushing. You can find edible airbrushing that will allow you to make your cookies a true piece of art. You can find the equipment at many craft stores and also cooking stores.

Cookie Sandwiches

Another great way to improve the classic is to make cookie sandwiches. Think of an Oreo for this idea. When you make your cookies, place a layer of cream in the middle and make a cookie sandwich.

Candy Bar Cookies

Candy Bar Cookies are the best. How can you go wrong when you combine a piece of candy with your favorite cookie? You can use any style of cookie and follow the normal instructions, then place chunks of your favorite candy on top. Some candies melt a bit but that adds to the gooey-ness of your snack. Using chocolate makes this one of my favorite options.

New Twists on Old Classics

  • If you’re looking for something really unique, try making vanilla meringue cookies. It seems like a pretty ordinary recipe, but you can use a little food coloring or food sprinkles to change the color and make it look a little more festive. While these cookies taste good, I love to make them with alternating green and red meringue to really pull in the Christmas spirit.
  • Everyone has heard of an Oatmeal cookie, but I like to make it a little different. In the same way that you can add a bit of extra flavor with raisins, I like to add cranberries or chocolate chips. People will see the oatmeal and find comfort in the fact that it’s a recipe they’re familiar with. But they’ll see the red from the cranberries and it will take them by surprise a bit.

DealDash Has Baking Supplies

Baking cookies (and whatever else!) is always a lot easier if you have nice fresh equipment. DealDash has the equipment that you need for cooking and baking. DealDash’s Thanksgiving Desserts That Aren’t Pies

DealDash

Thanksgiving is coming, it’s pie time! However, not everyone likes pie. Here are a few suggestions from DealDash for the non-pie lovers out there.

When you think of Thanksgiving dessert, you think of a slice of pie with whip cream or a side of ice cream. It’s been the standard for decades. We’d like to offer the chance to mix things up a bit this year. Whether you’re a master in the kitchen or someone who likes to keep it simple, we’ve got the solution for you. Read on for some ideas from DealDash.

Skip the Pie, Keep the Pumpkin

Some people are really attached to their traditions, so we’ll start with a few options that are close to the original. A quick search will find great recipes for pumpkin pie brownies that will almost melt in your mouth. For what it’s worth, I’d eat a good pumpkin roll every day of the year if given the option. Adding the chocolate flavor to your traditional pumpkin can really set it apart. If you’re more of an apple person, you could try apple dumplings.

Everyone Likes Cake

For those who are a bit more adventurous, you may want to look at Nutella Butter Cake recipes. This cake looks more like a brownie when you cut it up. And it may be one of the richest desserts you’ll ever taste. You could opt for something that will impress the crowd. Churros are much easier to make than people realize. Because you’re making something “different” you’ll impress a lot of people.

Cookies for Everyone

If you’re looking to keep it simple this year, you can opt for the classics. Cookies are always a safe option. Whether you prefer a classic chocolate chip or oatmeal raisin, you can’t go wrong. Just be sure that you know if anyone has allergies. I’m also a big fan of cheesecake. It’s something that you could make on your own, but it’s easy to find a good variety pack in the store. It’s always nice when you can buy one thing and get multiple flavors.

DealDash is the Place for Kitchen Supplies

No matter which of these desserts you chose to make you will want to get your kitchen supplies from DealDash. DealDash is the best place to get all of the items, big and small, for your kitchen. If you would like to check out the pie servers and other kitchen items on DealDash, just click here. You will find cutlery, cutting boards, stand mixers, and more in the Kitchen and Dining category.
