What’s more fun than a birthday party? A surprise

Birthdays come around every year and many people have birthday parties to celebrate that special day. Some people like to throw surprise birthday parties for their family and friends. Throwing a surprise birthday party may seem easy, but there is a lot of planning that goes into it. As a mom of two kids who were both born in January, I think that a surprise party is the way to go this year. Here are some tips to help you prepare for a surprise birthday party, from DealDash.

Find a Location

To have a successful surprise birthday party, you have to find a location. It is important to choose a location that will be able to hold the number of guests that are coming. Some places that you can have a surprise birthday party is a nice restaurant or you can rent a community hall. Regardless of where you choose to have the surprise birthday party, it is best to be prepared. If the guest of honor has a summer birthday, then a public park or playground could be an excellent place to have the surprise party.

Make a Guest List

Having a guest list is so important when it comes to preparing a surprise birthday party. You want to make sure that you have a head count so that you have enough food and chairs. It is best to send out invitations as soon as you can so people can clear up their schedule for the party. You can send out paper invitations or Evites. Many people nowadays prefer an Evite so they can respond and put it in their smartphone calendar right away.

Prepare the Refreshments

When people go to a party they automatically expect some type of food or snacks. If you are having a birthday party for an adult you can prepare meals that are easy to cook.  When you are preparing for a kids birthday party, you should serve snack foods such as punch, cookies, and cupcakes.

The most important thing is to make sure that you order the birthday cake. If this part of the party planning slips your mind you can usually get a sheet cake at the grocery store the same day, and they will write the birthday person’s name on it immediately. If you don’t want to prepare the food, you can have your party at a restaurant or hire someone to cater your party.
