DealDash Treats Weeds Naturally
If your hard is full of unsightly weeds you’ll want to treat them. Here is how to kill them naturally, from DealDash.
Treating weeds naturally is important if you have kids and/or pets roaming around your yard. Many weed-killing products are quite toxic when you first apply them, so some people prefer to treat them naturally. But how can you effectively kill them? Let DealDash show you how. Read on for more information.
The Secret Ingredient is…
Vinegar! Vinegar can be used for many things, from cooking and cleaning to weed killing. Vinegar is so versatile and inexpensive that you should always keep some on hand for projects around the house. Here are some tips to killing weeds with vinegar.
Why Use Vinegar?
Vinegar is a wonderful weed killer because it contains acetic acid and is both natural and effective. One of the great things about vinegar is since it’s natural and non-toxic to humans you can put it in any container to use that you like, such as a sprayer. This way you can easily spray your entire yard, or you can concentrate the spray on exactly which weed or weeds that you want to kill.
Using a Sprayer to Kill Weeds
You can pour the vinegar onto weeds one-by-one, but it’s much easier and more effective to use a sprayer. For smaller yards, a regular spray bottle such as one Windex came in will work just fine. You can rinse out a Windex bottle that you have used, or buy a new spray bottle. If you have a larger yard with many more weeds then you might want to invest in a pump sprayer that has a hose that you can direct onto different areas of your yard.
When Should I Apply the Vinegar?
The acetic acid in vinegar is what kills the weeds, it dries them out and kills them. For this reason, a hot and sunny day is ideal for applying the vinegar onto your weeds. Spray your weeds in the morning of a day forecasted to be hot and sunny. If the day turns out to be cloudy or rainy then you will probably have to re-apply your vinegar on another day.
These Weeds Just Won’t Die!
If you have some extremely stubborn weeds that are still thriving after two applications of household vinegar then you’re going to have to get some stronger vinegar. Regular white vinegar that you can get at any supermarket is a 5% concentration of acetic acid. Horticultural vinegar is 20% concentration of acetic acid, and you will need to get it at a garden center. This vinegar is much stronger, and you would be wise to wear gloves when using it.
