It’s August – Let’s Clean and Organize!

DealDash

Can you believe it’s already August? Let’s start the month off right with some cleaning and organizing. Follow these tips from DealDash.

Now that we are in August, we have just one more month of summer. It’s a wonderful time to continue to get your home clean and organized before the kids are back doing schoolwork, either at home or in the classroom. Here are a few ideas that can help you get clean and organized in August.

Use the Basket System

Firstly, we all know that it’s much easier to get your home clean and organized if it isn’t a huge mess already. It can really slow you down when you have to deal with things that are either trash that needs to be thrown out or things that are in the totally wrong place like a toothbrush in the living room.

Using the basket system makes cleaning and organizing a much easier task. Simply have a basket/bin/tote in each room. When you come across something that shouldn’t be in that room, toss it in the basket. Once per week, you can distribute the things from the basket into the correct places. The basket system can also help if you have a child (or spouse!) who is constantly asking you if you have “seen their _____”. You can tell them to check the baskets and perhaps they will find the item they are looking to find.

Don’t Make the Same Old Mistakes

Secondly, humans are creatures of habit, but you should try to avoid making the same old cleaning mistakes that you have made before. For example, most homes that I have been in have a ridiculous amount of food storage. These can be old (clean) take-out containers, containers with lids that were sent home with leftovers inside, etc. In most cases, these are in a jumbled mess in a cabinet, since they came from different places they are all different sizes and none of the lids are interchangeable.

Stop keeping these old containers! I know it’s tempting to keep them because they were free and are reusable, but you are just adding them to the mess in your cabinet. Figure out how many containers and lids that you would like to keep, and then get rid of the rest. You can recycle them, use them to hold small supplies in the garage, just get them out of the kitchen. After you are down to your desired number of containers, don’t save any more.

DealDash Has Home Decor and Organization

Finally, organizing and cleaning doesn’t mean that you can’t get new items for your home. You just need to figure out exactly how you want to decorate and organize your home and make it happen.

While you are cleaning and organizing in August you might find that you need shelves, bins, storage racks, or home decor items. DealDash has all of these items and so much more to offer. Click this link and you can check out the amazing items in the category of Home, Garden, and Tools.

DealDash Quick Clean – Bathroom Edition

DealDash

Want a clean bathroom, fast? Follow these suggestions from DealDash to accomplish your goal.

Cleaning your bathroom can seem like it will take forever. However, with these quick clean tips from DealDash, you will get your bathroom sparkling and germ-free, fast! Here are some suggestions to clean your bathroom quickly and effectively. Read on for more information.

Keep Your Shower Clean

One of the best ways to clean a shower is to use white vinegar. Simply put the white vinegar into a plastic grocery bag and place it over the nozzle, tie it, and leave it overnight. You might want to use a double-bag so it doesn’t leak and soaks as much as possible. Then, the next day, you should remove the plastic grocery bag with the white vinegar in the morning and run some water to rinse.

Next up, shower curtains. Wash your shower curtains with your normal detergent along with some old towels. You should replace your shower curtain liner every 6 months so it doesn’t grow any mildew.

Keep it Clean on the Daily

To begin with, the easiest way to have a clean bathroom is to do a little cleaning each day. That way when it’s time to give it a deeper clean it will go much faster. Just think, if you gave your mirror, sink, and counter a quick wipe with a paper towel and a squirt of window cleaner or vinegar each day it would always be clean! Add in a quick swab of the toilet with the brush daily and it will stay clean much longer as well. Additionally, keeping the toiletries and clutter to a minimum can go a long way towards making your deep clean go quickly.

Low-Effort, CleanToilet

Next, even if you are giving your toilet a quick swab daily you will want to give it a (quick) deep clean weekly. This is very easy to do! Begin by pouring baking soda into a cup and pour it into the toilet bowl. Let the baking soda sit for a few minutes then flush your toilet. Make sure to also clean the toilet seat with an all-purpose cleaner. This all takes less than 5 minutes per week, so you see you can get the chore done quickly. Using these tips will help keep your bathroom clean and germ-free.

DealDash Decorates Your Bathroom

Finally, the easiest way to have a great-looking bathroom is to have it beautifully decorated. DealDash can help you make this happen, quickly and enjoyably. DealDash Organizes in July

DealDash

Can you believe that we are already halfway through summer? Let’s use the rest of July to get organized. Follow these suggestions from DealDash to make it easy.

Getting organized doesn’t have to be a daunting task. It’s summertime! Throw those windows open to get some air, put on your favorite tunes, and get organized with DealDash! Here are a few simple tips available that can help you get organized this month.

Get Prepared – Spot Pick Up

To start with, getting organized is much easier (and faster) if you are prepared before you begin. Gather up all of the members of your family and assign them each to a room to do a “spot pick up”. This simply means that they pick up and put away anything that is either on the floor or is obviously in the wrong place. For example, all stray cups and dishes need to be in the kitchen and that hairbrush on the bookshelf? Let’s put that back into the bathroom or bedroom, please.

Once you have all of the rooms mostly picked up, then it’s much easier to get organized. I find that when I am trying to get organized, for me, the biggest roadblock is having to stop every 2 minutes to pick up and put away things that are in the wrong place. Getting distracted is the enemy of becoming organized!

Identify Problem Areas

Next, you will want to identify the “hot spots” in your home. These hot spots are places that collect clutter and prevent you from becoming organized. For example, what do you do with your mail when it arrives? Do you just toss it on the counter or table to “deal with it later”? This can make quite a disorganized mess if you let it collect. a better solution would be to find an organized “home” for your mail. In my house, we have a rack that has slots on it where we distribute the mail to each person when it comes in. There is less clutter and no lost mail.

Another problem area might be the bathroom, especially if you (or your spouse!) is a fan of skincare and grooming. I don’t know about you, but I have about 10 different serums, creams, lotions, and moisturizers that I use daily. I don’t want to keep them in a cabinet or drawer since I use them all once or twice daily, but they make the sink vanity look very cluttered. Some people might want to use a basket as a solution. However, I got a round shelf system that sits on the counter that you can spin to get to all of the sides. This makes the counter clutter-free, and it also makes things organized and easy to find.

DealDash Provides Organization

Finally, organization really depends on the situation – people have clutter in different areas. For example, my husband is very clean and organized everywhere except for the garage! Other people might be organized other than needing help with their office. The good news is that DealDash has many amazing home organization items up for auction.

If you need shelves, toy bins, garage racks, or decorative cabinets DealDash can help you get organized! DealDash Cleans – Make it Quick!

DealDash

Most people don’t enjoy cleaning, so let’s get it out of the way! DealDash is here with some tips to clean things quickly yet effectively.

Let’s face it, after taking care of the family, homeschooling, and possibly even working at home, no parent wants to spend a huge amount of their free time cleaning the house. This is especially true nowadays with the rest of the things that you simply have to do. Here are some speed cleaning tips to assist busy parents to get their home looking great in no time flat. Read on for some suggestions from DealDash.

Break Up the Tasks

First, if you have large tasks that need to be done, don’t fret. Simply break up the chores into steps that are done over a few days. You’ll find that it appears that the work goes much faster. This is especially true if some of the steps can be handed out as chores to one of the kids or your spouse! Big tasks often get ignored and set aside when people are overwhelmed with too many things to do during the day. The longer you ignore a cleaning task the worse it becomes. So don’t ignore it, just break it up into smaller tasks.

Make a Schedule

Second, everyone has reoccurring cleaning tasks that need to be done. Developing a checklist of things that are done daily and weekly is a good way to be sure they are done and not overlooked. Just come up with a schedule including each task and stick to it. You’ll find that your home is much cleaner. You can download many different free apps to help you with this task. You can also use old fashioned pen and paper – it’s up to you!

Attempt to Clean as You Go

Next, if you’re able, cleaning as you go is actually the simplest speed cleaning tip. One of the best cleaning tips that I have ever read was to give the bathroom a very quick cleaning once each day after using it. Keep a box of disposable cleaning wipes in a handy spot. I just keep mine on top of the toilet under my tissue box.

After using the bathroom then take a cleaning wipe and wipe down the faucet and then the sink. Next, get another wipe and use it on the counter and the outside of the toilet. You can finish up with a quick swipe of the toilet brush and ta-daa! Your bathroom is clean! You can schedule a more in-depth cleaning for another time, but this daily cleaning will help keep things sparkling for much longer. Bonus tip: If you have multiple bathrooms, use a different one each time so they all get a daily “quick cleaning”.

Stock Your Supplies – DealDash Has You Covered

Finally, I know it can be difficult during these times, but it’s important to keep your cleaning supplies stocked. You want to always have the right cleaning materials available when you need them. There are few things more frustrating than having the time to clean and not having the materials available that you need.

If you need supplies to help you clean such as a vacuum, carpet cleaner, or even a power washer, DealDash can help! You will find all of the cleaning tools mentioned above, and more, at this link right here. Having the right cleaning tools makes the job easier. DealDash Cleans With Vinegar

DealDash

Many cleaning supplies are out of stock due to the current circumstances. However, vinegar is a great cleaner. Read this article from DealDash and get the details.

Vinegar is an excellent cleaner, and the best part is that since it’s a food product it’s totally safe to use on kitchen surfaces. Stores might be out of most cleaning products right now, but just about every store that I have visited has large jugs of vinegar. Get the tips and tricks from this new DealDash article.

Cleaning the Kitchen

There are many surfaces in the kitchen that can be cleaned with vinegar. The best way to use vinegar to clean the kitchen is to use a 1:1 ratio with vinegar and water. You can even make a spray bottle with this solution and use it to clean your microwave, fridge, cutting board, and more! Simply spray and wipe, there’s no need to rinse after. You might not like the sour smell of the vinegar, but that will go away after the surface has dried. You can feel confidant that you are using a cleaner that’s safe for your family when you clean your kitchen with vinegar.

Cleaning the Bathroom

You can easily clean all of the dirty surfaces in your bathroom with vinegar. You can clean the toilet, tub, sink, and even the floor with vinegar! You can use the same 1:1 solution with water that you used in the kitchen, or you can even use a 100% vinegar solution if you need to remove tough stains and soap scum. If you need even stronger cleaning power, warm up the vinegar in the microwave for 2 minutes. Be careful when it comes out, it will be hot.

Other Items

There are lots of other ways that you can use vinegar to help you clean your home. However, be sure that you always check the cleaning instructions of each material and use the recommended products. Also, following the tips in this blog is always at your own risk, and be sure to do your own research.

For example, you can use your spray bottle of vinegar and water to clean your windows. Just give them a squirt with the 1:1 solution and then wipe with a paper towel, sheet of newspaper, or a lint-free cloth.

You can also use vinegar when you do your laundry. Simply replace half of the detergent that you typically use with a 1/2 cup of vinegar. You can also replace your fabric softener with vinegar! Simply add a cup of vinegar to the final rinse.

Get Items to Clean Your Home on DealDash
