DealDash Redecorates a Gender Neutral Child’s Room

DealDash

If your child is ready to upgrade their bedroom, it’s easy. Let DealDash help you decorate their new room.

Redecorating your child’s bedroom doesn’t have to be a chore. It can be fun for both of you. Be sure to talk to them beforehand and get some input from them. Ask them what colors they might like to paint the room, and if they would like a theme. If they want a theme, then you need to read this article from DealDash.

Animal Friends for All, DealDash Can Help

To begin with, I know that sometimes there just aren’t enough bedrooms in the home, and siblings have to share. This can be problematic for decorating if a boy and a girl are sharing. However, that isn’t an issue at all if you use an animal theme. Most little boys and girls all love animals. You could do a jungle, ocean, or cat/dog animal themed room.

If you and the kids decide on an animal room, DealDash can help. You will find lots of adorable things for a kid’s bedroom. Every little kid needs a night light, and if you click right here you will see the different animal night lights that DealDash has up for bid. You can also check the Home, Garden, and Tools category, right here.

Princesses, Knights, and Dragons for Boys and Girls

Next, the second option that works great for both boys and girls is a princess, knights, and dragon room. You can have a big castle either printed out or painted on the wall, and you can even add extra touches such as glitter to make it special. If this is specifically for boys you can leave out the princesses if they don’t care for them, and skip the dragons for the girls if they find them too scary. This is a very easy theme to use, there are plenty of places you can use with the upgrade such as sheets, a room border, and night light.

The Old Wast

Finally, another super option for a gender neutral room is the old west. Typically when you think about cowboys you might think “that’s just for boys”, but there were plenty of cowgirls as well. For a cute old west theme, you could paint an old-timey jail on the wall, or even a desert and cactus theme. If you want to get really creative, you could even put wheels and a canopy on their bed to look like an old stagecoach.

Thanks for Reading

Thanks for reading this new DealDash Reviewed blog on decorating your child’s gender neutral room. Remember, the most important part is really listening to see what your child is interested in. Don’t just use a theme because it looks “cool”, make sure your child is actually interested in the subject.

DealDash Digs Aromatherapy

The simplest definition of aromatherapy is “the use of aromatic plant extracts and essential oils in massage or baths.” Here is a little more information about aromatherapy to see if it’s right for you.

Many people use aromatherapy (also called essential oil therapy), some for medical reasons, and others because they enjoy the smells that aromatherapy uses. Aromatherapy can be used as a treatment (or possibly prevention) of disease or a skin condition by using essential oils. You can also use essential oils for pain and anxiety reduction, enhancement of energy, relaxation, reduction of eczema-induced itching, and many other uses. Some of these uses are scientifically proven, such as lavender for relaxation. Others are more anecdotal in nature.

There are three ways to apply aromatherapy to your lifestyle. The three ways are:

  1. Aerial diffusion: This way is ideal to use essential oils to make your house smell wonderful, or for aerial disinfection.
  2. Direct inhalation: Direct inhalation is used for respiratory disinfection, using as a decongestant, mucus expectoration, and also for psychological effects.
  3. Topical application: Topical application is used for applying essential oil directly to the skin. Please note that most essential oils are not meant to be applied to the skin without a carrier oil such as grapeseed oil.

If you decide to start yourself on a course of aromatherapy, please make sure that you have cleared it with your doctor. Also, before using essential oils on the skin, you should perform a skin patch test by applying a small amount of the diluted oil behind the wrist and covering it with a band-aid for a few hours. If redness or irritation occurs, the oil should be diluted further with the carrier oil and a second skin test performed, or it should not be used at all.

I hope that you found this article on aromatherapy helpful. If you’re interested in using an aromatherapy oil diffuser you can find some very attractive decorative diffusers. DealDash Makes: A Chalkboard Calendar

As a busy mom of three sometimes I struggle with remembering who has a doctor appointment, who has a dentist appointment, and what I have planned for the week’s dinners. Enter the chalkboard calendar.

There are different kinds of pre-made chalkboard calendars out there, and of course there are plenty of plain chalkboards, but I was looking for something more special than that. I was planning on giving it a prized position in the kitchen above my new buffet cabinet, so everyone could easily see what was going on the upcoming week. I looked and looked, but I had a hard time finding one that was big enough, framed tastefully to match my kitchen, and wasn’t $180. Yes, the only one that I found that I liked was $180.

So I decided to make my own! It’s really very simple and easy. You only need a few items to make your new chalkboard calendar, and you can spend only a few dollars on up to as high a limit as you would like to go. The smaller chalkboard calendar that you make the cheaper it will be, because the most expensive thing that you are going to need is a picture frame, and picture frame prices seem to raise exponentially with size.

Materials:

  • Picture frame – Any size that you want that will fit your space and your budget. I personally went to the craft store and used a 40% off coupon on a beautiful bluish-gray frame that was sized 16X20. After the discount I paid around $20 for it.
  • Chalkboard contact paper – They sell rolls of this at the craft store, and also at Wal*Mart in the drawer liner section. The chalkboard contact paper is very inexpensive.
  • Paint pen – You can get them at the craft store in any color that you like.
  • Chalk or chalk markers
  • Hanging supplies for your frame
  • Ruler, scissors

Instructions:

  1. Measure a piece of chalkboard contact paper that will fit your frame and cut it out.
  2. Draw on the chalkboard with your paint pen, this information will be permanent. I chose to put our last name at the top, the days of the week, and then a section for “To do”.
  3. Peel off the backing on your chalkboard contact paper and stick it right on the glass of the picture frame.
  4. Hang up your picture frame.
  5. Bam! You’ve got a personalized chalkboard calendar! Use those chalkboard pens and write out your agenda, dinner plans, appointments, anything that you would like to remember. The chalkboard paint should rub off easily with a cloth and a little water, but the paint pen words should stay put. You may have to refresh them occasionally, or you could just peel off the chalkboard decal paper and put a new and fresh one on occasionally.

Wasn’t that easy? I found that it was really fun to make and looks very nice when hanging on the wall. It’s nice because you can get any frame you like from the craft store to match your decor. Kid’s Bedroom

There are SO many adorable things that DealDash offers for a kid’s bedroom, it’s hard to just pick just one to tell you about. Since I have both a boy and a girl, I will go with something gender neutral, and that is the Peel and Stick Wall Decals! DealDash has many, many different kinds, just a few examples are: Hello Kitty (my favorite), Cars the Movie, Alphabet Animals, Cupcakes, Puppies, and many more. Kids love these decals to decorate, and the best part is you can easily remove them and put up new ones without any damage to your walls.

Master Bedroom

My suggestion for the Master Bedroom might surprise you, since you are probably thinking that I am going to suggest something expensive for this last room, but my favorite item from DealDash to decorate my bedroom is the WBM Himalayan Salt Table Lamp. It serves multiple purposes, it’s a very pretty and unique lamp, but it’s also a natural air purifier. I love mine, and it always makes me feel very soothed when I turn it on.
