DealDash Kids: Do They Have a Hobby?

Picking up a hobby as a child can be a great benefit as an adult. Here is more information from DelDash.

There are a great many reasons that you should help your child find a hobby. It can be difficult for them to choose as there are so many great hobbies out there to select from. However, if you are able to help guide them to something they would enjoy, then all the better. Here are some of the benefits of your child having a hobby, from DealDash.

Build Self-Esteem

Your child will have a mental distraction that will keep them away from the daily stress that they may encounter. You might remember school fondly, but many children get very stressed out by grades and social situations. A hobby is also a great way for your child to build a high level of self-esteem.  This will come as the progress with their proficiency with their chosen hobby. This can also help with social situations as well.

Hobbies Can Help Make Friends

A hobby allows them to become more social. No matter if it is with family or friends you will see that having a hobby will give your child something to talk about. Also, a reason to interact with other people who share similar interests. For example, my daughter is fairly shy. However, when she joined Girl Scouts (Which I consider a great hobby to have!) she has not only gotten more confident as they do projects but also made some great friends as well.

Think Positively!

Having a hobby can really help your child develop a positive attitude about everything. They will learn to see the positive side of things and learn that negative thinking will really get them nowhere. This way of thinking will be so helpful to them as they get older. This is especially true if your child develops a hobby that requires logic such as coding.

Get Creative

When a child has a hobby it really nurtures a new level of creativity in them. They learn to see things not only related to their hobby but their life in general in a new way. Also, they will start looking for creative solutions to problems that they might run into. This is especially prevalent of artsy hobbies such as painting or sewing.

DealDash Encourages New Hobbies

DealDash Hobbies

Hobbies are a great stress-reliever and can help you feel more positive about the rest of your life. Let DealDash help you explore some options.

You might already have a hobby or two that you enjoy, such as bidding on DealDash. However, expanding your horizons, learning new things, and doing things differently can help your brain stay young. Here are some tips and ideas from DealDash to help you explore some new hobbies in your spare time.

How Do I Find a New Hobby?

Firstly, I realize that finding a new hobby, especially if you’re an older person, can seem a little daunting. However, finding a new hobby doesn’t have to be difficult.

To find a new hobby, why not look around you, and see what hobbies you have right now. If you already have a hobby that you enjoy, why not expand on it? For example, if you like scrapbooking, why not pick up a camera and try your hand at photography? Once you have learned how to take great pictures you can use them in your scrapbooks. Or if you currently enjoy tennis as a hobby, why not take up golf as well?

If You Don’t Have Any Current Hobbies…

If you don’t have any current hobbies that you can expand on, why not go to the non-fiction section at the bookstore and see what peaks your interest? Maybe the cookbooks interest you, or perhaps woodworking, or even war history. No matter what non-fiction book you’re drawn to there is a hobby that will complement it.

Let Yourself Explore the Options

Lastly, if you pick up a new hobby that turns out to be a dud, don’t worry about it. Give it an honest chance, but if after a few weeks you’re not enjoying it at all feel free to move on to something else. Now, that’s not to say you should give up on something just because you’re not good at it right away, but if your new hobby doesn’t give you any joy then choose something else with a clear conscience.

I hope that you found this new DealDash article on expanding your hobbies helpful. If you are shopping for a camera, sports item, or other, check DealDash first. Building a Bird Bath with DealDash

You might remember the DealDash article a few weeks ago showing you how to build a bird house. If you enjoyed that, perhaps it time to build a bird bath.

A well-constructed and thoughtfully executed bird bath can bring new species of birds to your yard for you to enjoy. The bird bath’s placement is very important so that the birds feel safe visiting the bath. Bird bath construction is very easy and can be completed quickly without extensive woodworking knowledge needed.

The first step in constructing your new bird bath is to decide where it will be placed in your yard. You want the bird bath to be easily visible to you when you are on your deck or inside your house. It’s also very important that the bird bath has some protection, either from a tree, bush, your deck, or even from the side of your house. If your bird bath is out in the open yard the birds won’t feel comfortable because it’s very likely that a hawk or other large predatory bird might swoop down and carry off your new birdie friends.

Next you will need to place a wooden post in the ground where you have decided to put your bird bath. A wooden post that is made for a mailbox is just perfect! If you have ever dug a hole and placed and sealed in a post for a mailbox it’s virtually the same thing. They sell “Quick Concrete” that’s in single-serve bags that meant to put in one mailbox post. It’s very simple to use, just pour the powdered concrete in, pour the correct measurement of water in, hold the post steady for 10 minutes, and bam! You’ve got yourself a post.

The next thing you’ll want to do is secure whatever vessel that you have chosen to be your bird bath. Many people like to go with a simple terra-cotta pot and saucer, or even just the saucer. You can put the pot facedown on the pole, secure with a putty or silicone, and place the saucer on top – this allows for easy cleaning. Simply take the saucer off and put it back on when you need to clean it.

That’s it! Simple, easy, and a lot of fun once your little birds start coming by daily. Be sure to change the water often, and the birds will be very happy.

If making a bird bath sounds like it’s just a little too much work for your busy lifestyle, how about getting either a bird bath or a fountain from DealDash? It will save you some effort, and you can have fun bidding on your new yard ornament. Just click here and it will take you to the DealDash page with the lawn ornaments. Good luck and happy bidding everyone!

DealDash Helps: Keep Hobby Costs Low

No matter what your hobby, from photography to knitting and everything in between you can always find ways to cut costs. Let DealDash help you save some money.

Hobbies can be expensive, especially if you are just starting to be interested in a certain hobby. Almost every hobby that you pick up will require you to buy at least something to get started. Some hobbies, like photography can be extremely expensive; other hobbies such as doing hand embroidery or puzzles only require a small amount of money to get started. If you aren’t 100% sure what hobby that you are interested in it might be smart to try out a few hobbies that only need a few inexpensive supplies to get started instead of trying out the more expensive hobbies first.

If you are definitely set on one of the more expensive hobbies there are always ways to save money. For example, if you are positive that photography is the hobby for you, then try to buy all of your supplies on sale. As someone who DealDashes, I’m sure that you know that you can get most photography supplies cheaper on DealDash! If you go to the Electronics and Computer category on DealDash you can choose what supplies that you are interested in and stay on budget.

Perhaps you are still trying to choose a hobby and can’t decide. Instead of randomly picking a hobby that you aren’t sure about you should make a list of some things that you enjoy doing, and soon enough you will see if there is a theme present that you could turn into a hobby. For example, if you make a list that has nature, hiking, outdoors, and animals on it you might enjoy birdwatching or plant identification. If you’re more of a homebody and your list includes those same things you might enjoy gardening or maybe even bee keeping! No matter what hobby you pick be sure to do your research on brands and prices. Try to buy the bulk of your supplies on a holiday weekend such as 4th of July, Labor Day, Black Friday, etc. Most places (including DealDash!) usually have extremely good deals on holiday weekends.

DealDash can help reduce your hobby costs dramatically by bidding on and winning gift cards. Most hobbies require you to buy supplies regularly, and if you can acquire any of those supplies at a place that DealDash offers gift cards for such as Wal*Mart, Target, K-Mart, or so many others you can bid on them and get a great deal, or BIN (Buy It Now) and pay face value for the gift card, get free shipping, and get to keep the clock time that you spent as the highest bidder.

I hope that you found this article helpful for money-saving ideas for your hobbies. Think about my suggestions and head on over to DealDash to save some money on your hobbies. Good luck and happy bidding everyone!
