DealDash Travel Tips for the Holidays

DealDash Lots of fun family holidays are coming up soon. If you’re traveling for the holiday you will want to read this new DealDash article.

The holidays are always a very busy season for travel, both by air and by car. Thanksgiving is next week, and Christmas is just around the corner. Now is a great time to make your travel plans. Read this DealDash article and get some tips!

Driving or Flying This Season?

Firstly, you need to choose how you will get to your holiday celebration. Are you going to drive or fly? Be sure to plan ahead and do your research on routes, flights, and prices. Be sure to check different airlines to compare different costs for flights. If you’re driving you will want to see how long it takes, where you can stop for a break, and factor in the cost of gas.

DealDash Can Assist With Packing

For short trips, like a long weekend around the holidays, a carry-on bag is a great choice. If you need a fresh new carry-on bag you can obtain one from DealDash. DealDash has very nice high-quality luggage. They are much nicer than the ones at the local big box store. You can simply click this link right here and check out the luggage that DealDash offers up for auction.

If you’re a mom like me, then you probably end up packing for more than just yourself! I have 3 kids to pack for as well as myself, so I like to start early. Typically I try to do a load of laundry and pack as I am folding the clean clothes. I feel like it saves an extra step – then when we come home I unpack all of the dirty clothes directly back into the washing machine! Go ahead, treat yourself to some new luggage. Just click here.

Make a List

You will also want to make a list of things you have to do before you leave for your trip. Be sure to think of everything, because there’s nothing worse than being halfway to your destination and remember something that you either forgot to do or to pack. Here is an example of what my list usually looks like:

  • Fill automatic water and food bowls for the cats (if we are away for more than 2 days I get a pet sitter)
  • Make sure the litterbox has fresh litter
  • Turn the heat down to 65
  • Check to make sure all appliances are off/unplugged
  • Check all window and door locks
  • Bring medicine

Thanks for Reading

Traveling for the holidays can be either fun or a pain – it’s up to you! The more you plan ahead, though, the better time you will have. Thanks so much for reading this DealDash article on prepping for your holiday trip.

DealDash Black Friday 2019 Shopping Tips

DealDash

Black Friday is almost here! Have you made your shopping game plan yet? Here are some tips from DealDash to help.

We’ve made it to November and that means that Black Friday is coming quickly. FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) can be a real thing when you see all of the Black Friday sales, so we’d like to offer some insight on how to plan for the year’s craziest day of shopping, from DealDash.

What’s Important to You? Check the Fliers

You’ll find that everyone is going to have sales on Black Friday- I’ve even seen ornament shops offer specials just to pull people in. You should start by mapping out what’s important. Find what you can use as gifts this year. Then look for the things that might be worth purchasing for yourself. Don’t forget about you!

Which Store Has Multiple Items You Want?

After you’ve found what you want to get, focus on the stores that carry the biggest variety. The truth is, you’re going to struggle to hit multiple locations unless they’re all on top of each other. Try to find multiple stores in the same shopping center or focus on a place like big box stores that will offer a large variety of deals.

Make a List, Make a Map

Finally, map out the entire day. It may come a surprise, but most of the people showing up at 3 AM aren’t going to last all day. Set your stores in order of priority- make sure that the best gift or the best deal is at the top of your list. Once you’ve got what you need, move on to the next store, no dilly-dallying around.

Stay at Home and Shop on DealDash in Your Jammies!

Of course, not everyone wants to get up at 3 AM and stand outside in the snow for a few deals. You can simply choose not to go and shop on DealDash instead. DealDash typically has a super sale on bids as well as some great promotions on that day. Take advantage of these, and have less competition bidding while others are out shopping. Stay cozy and warm at home bidding on DealDash. You can always check the price of bids and see what promotion is currently running by going to the home page. Just click here.

Thanks for Reading

Thanks so much for reading this DealDash article on Black Friday shopping tips. Here are a few last reminders:

  • Try to remember the holiday spirit. Employees are working at midnight instead of sleeping so we can enjoy the sales. A little kindness and good manners will brighten their night.
  • If you don’t find what you’re looking for on Black Friday, check DealDash. You will find similar items you can bid on or BIN (Buy It Now).

DealDash’s Thanksgiving Desserts That Aren’t Pies

DealDash

Thanksgiving is coming, it’s pie time! However, not everyone likes pie. Here are a few suggestions from DealDash for the non-pie lovers out there.

When you think of Thanksgiving dessert, you think of a slice of pie with whip cream or a side of ice cream. It’s been the standard for decades. We’d like to offer the chance to mix things up a bit this year. Whether you’re a master in the kitchen or someone who likes to keep it simple, we’ve got the solution for you. Read on for some ideas from DealDash.

Skip the Pie, Keep the Pumpkin

Some people are really attached to their traditions, so we’ll start with a few options that are close to the original. A quick search will find great recipes for pumpkin pie brownies that will almost melt in your mouth. For what it’s worth, I’d eat a good pumpkin roll every day of the year if given the option. Adding the chocolate flavor to your traditional pumpkin can really set it apart. If you’re more of an apple person, you could try apple dumplings.

Everyone Likes Cake

For those who are a bit more adventurous, you may want to look at Nutella Butter Cake recipes. This cake looks more like a brownie when you cut it up. And it may be one of the richest desserts you’ll ever taste. You could opt for something that will impress the crowd. Churros are much easier to make than people realize. Because you’re making something “different” you’ll impress a lot of people.

Cookies for Everyone

If you’re looking to keep it simple this year, you can opt for the classics. Cookies are always a safe option. Whether you prefer a classic chocolate chip or oatmeal raisin, you can’t go wrong. Just be sure that you know if anyone has allergies. I’m also a big fan of cheesecake. It’s something that you could make on your own, but it’s easy to find a good variety pack in the store. It’s always nice when you can buy one thing and get multiple flavors.

DealDash is the Place for Kitchen Supplies

No matter which of these desserts you chose to make you will want to get your kitchen supplies from DealDash. DealDash is the best place to get all of the items, big and small, for your kitchen. If you would like to check out the pie servers and other kitchen items on DealDash, just click here. You will find cutlery, cutting boards, stand mixers, and more in the Kitchen and Dining category.

Thanks for Reading

Dessert is many people’s favorite part of the Thanksgiving meal. Thanks so much for reading this DealDash article on hosting Thanksgiving. I hope that it was helpful to help you think of a few twists on dessert this year.

DealDash’s Super Stocking Stuffer Ideas for Everyone

DealDash

Stockings are one of my favorite parts of Christmas. Read on for some stocking stuffer ideas from DealDash.

Many families have a tradition of hanging stockings up for Christmas and a stocking wouldn’t be complete without having a few small gifts and candy inside. Below are some stocking stuffer ideas for everyone, from DealDash.

Cute Ideas for Kids

We’ve found that offering small toys are always a hit. Try using something out of the ordinary – putty, a yoyo, a Rubik’s Cube. Try to add some things that kids don’t seem to get a hold of much these days.

Our family also offers up favorite candies. This is something that’s simple to plan out but still allows the chance to make it a unique gift. When each child gets their favorite candy bar, it reminds them that you’re paying attention to the details. It can also be fun to add some candies that they don’t see very often. Try shopping at your local Asian grocery store or the “World” section at your supermarket.

Teenagers

Girls:

  • Makeup and/or Nail polish
  • Skincare
  • Face mask
  • Bath bombs
  • Body lotion

Our family has made it a point to remind the girls about the importance of self-care and encourage treating themselves to an at-home spa day. However, not all girls are into the “girly” stuff. You could substitute a new sketchbook, some Sharpies, a Funko figurine, or a special Christmas ornament with one of their hobbies depicted.

Boys:

  • Cards (Pokemon, Magic, card game)
  • Books or Magazines
  • Small gift card for a new app or a few MP3s

Either:

Our family has also developed traditions. Rather than offering the world’s coolest gadget, we focus on building a tradition. This might be a coin from a special place or something from the year they were born. These things are more about the thought than the gift itself.

Adults

  • Power Block (mobile phone charger)
  • Gloves
  • Gift Cards
  • Higher-end pens
  • Swiss Army Knife

Something everyone can use

  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Socks
  • Phone accessories – case and/or car holder
  • Netflix/Hulu subscriptions
  • A good gag gift to make them laugh

Thanks for Reading

Our family makes it a point to stuff stockings with gifts that people want, but that we (the gifters) would feel isn’t a very good gift. We can all use a new pair of socks, but who wants socks to be their main Christmas gift? Adding in the option of a gag gift is always fun as well. We love to make each other laugh when opening gifts.  Thanks so much for reading this DealDash article on stocking stuffers. I hope that it was helpful to you.

DealDash Guide for Hosting Thanksgiving

DealDash

Thanksgiving will be here in a few short weeks. If you’re hosting this year you’ll want to read these tips from DealDash.

Everyone loves Thanksgiving- it’s the perfect chance to see your family and over-indulge in food a bit. That diet can wait until next week! What most of us don’t talk about is the fact that someone has to host Thanksgiving dinner. It can be a pretty stressful day for the host. We’ve got a few tips to make hosting Thanksgiving as painless as possible. Read on for more information, from DealDash.

Pre-Set the Table

Our family has made a habit of pre-setting the table the night before. Rather than waiting until Thanksgiving to start our prep, as we’re cooking the turkey, we like to get the plates, silverware and table cloths out and at least get everything on the table. In a perfect world, we try setting the table, but when you’re making dinner for a dozen people, space can be a precious thing. By having everything out, it will speed the process up a bit on Thanksgiving morning. Of course, if you have naughty pets that like to sneak up on the table when you’re not looking you might not want to do this, Instead, you can just gather all of the dining items in a central location for easy set-up while everything is cooking.

Prepare Food Ahead of Time

If you’ve got the chance to prepare anything ahead of time, we encourage you to do so. Making your key ingredients ahead of time will save a lot of stress. After all, it’s not difficult to freeze a pie, then pull it out on Thanksgiving morning. You can also make mashed potatoes, potato salad, green bean casserole, and many more dishes the day before. This will save tons of time when you are busy on Thanksgiving Day entertaining your relatives.

Use Your Slow Cooker From DealDash

Along the same lines, allow time to do some of the work for you. Most of us forget about the wonder that is a crockpot/slow cooker. As I have said many times before, DealDash is the best place to get small appliances. One of the best kitchen items ever, the slow cooker, is available on DealDash! When you use your DealDash slow cooker you will save tons of time and effort.

There are some slow-cooker turkey recipes on the internet. We realize that you may not want to cook your turkey in a slow-cooker, but there’s nothing wrong with using it to make vegetables, potatoes, or even a cobbler. If you would like to check out the slow cookers and other kitchen items on DealDash, just click here. You will find blenders, waffle makers, coffee makers, and more in the Kitchen and Dining category.

Cook ALL the Food

It’s always a good idea to over-prepare. If you think that you have 10 people showing up, plan for 12-15. You never want to run out of food if you can avoid it. This idea also goes for overnight guests. If you’ve got the space to use, clean a few extra sets of linens and toss have them ready for a last-minute guest.

Thanks for Reading

As your dinner draws to an end, it’s reasonable to remind everyone that you could use a little help. As they say, “Many hands make light work”. Ask for a little help as you clean up so that you can enjoy the holiday as well. Thanks so much for reading this DealDash article on hosting Thanksgiving. I hope that it was helpful to you.
