DealDash Last Minute Dad Gifts

DealDash

Father’s Day will be here before you know it. Here are some last-minute gift suggestions from DealDash.

Father’s Day is coming up very soon, on Sunday, June 21st, 2020. Now is time to figure out what you are going to give your dad if you haven’t already gotten him a present. There are many gifts that you can buy or make for your father or the father of your children. Making homemade Father’s Day crafts adds a personal touch, and both of them are a great option or even a combination of the two. Here are a few great ideas, from DealDash.

Make Dad a Present at Home

To begin with, depending on where you live, you might not even be able to get to a store right now. However, you probably have plenty of things around the house that would make a great gift for your own dad or your kid’s dad.

The easiest thing is a card, of course. All you need is a piece of paper (preferably thick like construction paper or scrapbook paper), pens, pencils, crayons, markers, and imagination! You can draw a picture, write a poem, or even make a list of all the things that you love about your dad. You can even include a homemade “gift card” for a brunch out at a restaurant when things have opened back up in your area.

Get Dad a Present on DealDash

Next, not everyone is crafty. If you don’t like the idea of making a gift, then you should try winning an auction for Dad on DealDash. There are tons of fun and useful items he would love to have. You should begin by browsing the Home, Garden, and Tools category. Just click here. Next, you can try the Hobbies, Toys, Outdoors, and Games category, click here to see this category. You will find tools, sports equipment, video games, garden items, and lots of things for dad.

Do a Service for Dad

Finally, not all presents have to be tangible. You can do a service or a chore for dad. You could wash his car, mow the lawn, or organize the garage for him. What would make dad’s life easier for him? If you can think of a chore that he always complains about, then that is the perfect service that you can do for dad.

DealDash Helps: Get Creative for Mother’s Day

DealDash

Mother’s Day is coming up soon. To be precise, Sunday, May 10th. You need to read these creative ideas from DealDash to make Mom smile.

Your mom is a very important person in your life, and there is no better time than on Mother’s Day! Since we may or may not still be practicing social distancing next month, you might need to “think outside of the box” this year for her gift. Here are some creative ways to treat your mom, from DealDash.

Put Together a Scrapbook for Mom

Firstly, during your extra time spent at home, you can make a scrapbook for your mom. There are tons of different categories or themes that you can make a scrapbook about. Some suggestions are:

  • a favorite vacation you took together
  • a collection of birthday parties of family members
  • family pets you had growing up
  • your parent’s wedding

The possibilities are endless, just choose the theme you think your mom would enjoy most.

A Spa Day at Home (With Help From DealDash)

Since spas are mostly closed and might not re-open by Mother’s Day, why not set up a spa for Mom at home? You can treat her to a homemade face mask made of fruits and veggies, paint her toenails, and run her a nice bath with oils or salts. You might even be able to scrounge up a bath bomb for her. Check the linen closet, maybe you have an extra you forgot about.

Did you know that DealDash often offers spa and bath items? There is plenty of time left for you to win or BIN items for your mom. There are many different items that your mom will enjoy. Think about getting her a new bathrobe, a candle, some nice spa towels with a towel rack, or even a sonic facial cleanser. Here’s a link so you can check it out.

Make Mom a Craft Kit

Finally, if your mom is a crafty sort, maybe a homemade craft kit might fit the bill. You might not even have to purchase anything extra – if your mom knits or does embroidery she probably has all of the supplies that she needs! The idea of putting together a kit for her is to keep her entertained – perhaps you could find her a project online that you could print out and then gather up the materials for. For instance, if she does embroidery, maybe you could find her an embroidery pattern online, and then find all of the different colors of embroidery thread that she will need for the project.

DealDash Holiday: Plan an Easter Party

DealDash

Easter is coming, and now is the perfect time to begin planning your family’s Easter celebration. DealDash can help.

Planning a fun Easter celebration is something you should do for your family if you have young children. It’s easy and fun to make a plan for your family to be able to enjoy this holiday. Here are a few suggestions for planning a lively Easter celebration, from DealDash.

Everyone’s Favorite – The Egg Hunt

Firstly, you will want to plan an Easter egg hunt. If you only have one child coming to your celebration, then you don’t have to worry about making sure everyone finds some eggs, but if you have multiple children you should assign each child a specific color of egg. This way each child will be able to find the same amount of eggs. This is especially important if you have a wide range of ages participating. You wouldn’t want the big kids to swoop through and find all of the eggs before the toddlers and preschool kids are able to find any.

Crafts Will Be a Hit

Kids love to do crafts, and they are a nice way to keep them occupied for a little while so the adults get a break. As my husband likes to say – keep it simple. There’s no need to plan out anything too elaborate, so plan some simple Easter crafts for the kids. Of course, you will need to plan for the different ages of kids participating. For the toddlers, this can be something as simple as bunny coloring pages, and for the older kids, you should consider getting a few craft kits from the craft store. This is a great way for to kids to make something to remember the celebration.

Party Outside if Possible

Parties that have kids involved are always better outside if the weather is nice. You will have less clean-up to do after, and they will be able to get out some energy out and be louder than they would be able to be inside. Be sure to have outdoor games planned for the kids. Consider making a “pin the tail on the bunny” game, have a table and ingredients set up for them to make slime, and have water guns and bubbles available. The kids will have a blast and there will be a minimal mess to clean up.

DealDash Crafts: Valentine’s Day Creativity

DealDash

Valentine’s Day is the perfect holiday to put your creativity to good use. DealDash has some great ideas, so read this article and get creative!

Valentine’s Day is approaching quickly. While everyone focuses on a romantic relationship, I like to make sure the kids are able to celebrate as well. We focus on making simple crafts that the kids can complete independently. These can be for decoration or gifts for their loved ones. Read on for some fun ideas from DealDash.

Heart Garland

One of our go-to crafts is homemade heart garland. It’s a bit of a play on the candy hearts that you can buy in the store. We cut construction paper into hearts and then string them together. I like to add a quick phrase or note that resembles what you’ll find on those candied hearts. It’s simple and makes for a great decoration or a quick gift.

Accordion Card

Another favorite requires a bit more work. It’s called an accordion card. You start by cutting a 1 inch wide strip of construction paper and fold it into an accordion. On each square that you’ve made, you write a letter to spell out “this much”. Then cut out the shape of a hand. We like to trace our hands. Finally, attach one hand on each side of the accordion. On the “front” hand, write “I love you”. In the end, the card reads “I love you this much” and as the person opens the card, the hands spread further apart.

Heart Person

Following the accordion idea, we like to make a heart-figure. It’s something simple but cute. First, we cut out a heart shape and draw a face on it. My kids love to use googly eyes rather than drawing eyes. We make an accordion fold on 4 strips of paper. I typically aim for about ½ inch wide. Then add small hearts that function as the hands and feet of the heart. It can be a craft on its own or you can write a note on the back to make it function as a card or gift.

DealDash Keeps the Christmas Spirit All Year

DealDash

It may be halfway through January, but now is a great time to spread some happiness. Read on for some excellent ideas from DealDash.

Christmas has come and gone, and now you have a lot of new items to add to your already cluttered house. However, let’s try to keep the Christmas spirit going with kindness. Here’s a way to cut down on some of that clutter while enjoying your new gifts. Read on for some helpful ideas from DealDash.

Check your closet

Most people get a few new shirts, pairs of pants, or jackets as part of their Christmas haul. Our family typically tries to find one item to donate for each item that we receive. Look for the things that you haven’t worn this year. One of my favorite ways to track that is to have all of my hangers face the same direction at the start of the year. When I’ve worn something, I turn the hanger in the opposite direction.

Either way, consider donating the things that are still in good condition to a local organization. If you’re not interested in the trip to the thrift store, consider one of those “planet” donation boxes that you’ll find all over town. They make things convenient but still give you the chance to help someone out.

Check the Toy Chest

Much like our clothing, we quickly overload on toys for the kids (and dogs). Take a hard look at what your kids are playing with. See if you can pass those toys forward that aren’t as popular at your house. If your children are old enough, post-Christmas is the perfect time to help them get in on the project. Explain to them that you want to pass along that joy to another child. Remind them how happy they were to get something new on Christmas morning and that they could help give that feeling to another child.

Check the Kitchen

Somehow, we always end up getting wine glasses and coffee mugs as part of our Christmas gifts. I’m sure you can guess what we like to do in our spare time! Because of that, we quickly run out of space. These would be something that is easy to regift. If you’re not a fan of regifting or donating something like glasses and mugs, consider changing the layout of your kitchen. There are great examples on Pinterest of how you can set up a “mug wall”.

If You Didn’t Get What You Wanted, Check DealDash

Finally, as we all know, sometimes we don’t get what we really wanted during the holidays. That’s not a problem with DealDash. There are a few things that are hard to gift to people, such as a computer or video game system – things change so quickly it’s hard to know what the giftee really wants. I suspect this is why there are so many returns on the day after Christmas – the gifter tried their best but didn’t get the correct style or electronic spec. DealDash is here to help! If you wanted an electronic like a computer, game system, tablet, or speaker, simply check the Electronics and Computers category. For all other items, click this link to browse the categories and items.
