DealDash Redecorates a Gender Neutral Child’s Room

DealDash

If your child is ready to upgrade their bedroom, it’s easy. Let DealDash help you decorate their new room.

Redecorating your child’s bedroom doesn’t have to be a chore. It can be fun for both of you. Be sure to talk to them beforehand and get some input from them. Ask them what colors they might like to paint the room, and if they would like a theme. If they want a theme, then you need to read this article from DealDash.

Animal Friends for All, DealDash Can Help

To begin with, I know that sometimes there just aren’t enough bedrooms in the home, and siblings have to share. This can be problematic for decorating if a boy and a girl are sharing. However, that isn’t an issue at all if you use an animal theme. Most little boys and girls all love animals. You could do a jungle, ocean, or cat/dog animal themed room.

If you and the kids decide on an animal room, DealDash can help. You will find lots of adorable things for a kid’s bedroom. Every little kid needs a night light, and if you click right here you will see the different animal night lights that DealDash has up for bid. You can also check the Home, Garden, and Tools category, right here.

Princesses, Knights, and Dragons for Boys and Girls

Next, the second option that works great for both boys and girls is a princess, knights, and dragon room. You can have a big castle either printed out or painted on the wall, and you can even add extra touches such as glitter to make it special. If this is specifically for boys you can leave out the princesses if they don’t care for them, and skip the dragons for the girls if they find them too scary. This is a very easy theme to use, there are plenty of places you can use with the upgrade such as sheets, a room border, and night light.

The Old Wast

Finally, another super option for a gender neutral room is the old west. Typically when you think about cowboys you might think “that’s just for boys”, but there were plenty of cowgirls as well. For a cute old west theme, you could paint an old-timey jail on the wall, or even a desert and cactus theme. If you want to get really creative, you could even put wheels and a canopy on their bed to look like an old stagecoach.

Thanks for Reading

Thanks for reading this new DealDash Reviewed blog on decorating your child’s gender neutral room. Remember, the most important part is really listening to see what your child is interested in. Don’t just use a theme because it looks “cool”, make sure your child is actually interested in the subject.

DealDash Summer Fun for Kids Suggestions

DealDash

Summer is just about here! Your kids are going to be bored, here are DealDash’s fun suggestions for activities.

Summer has (almost) officially reached full swing and it’s time to consider what to do with the family. There are limited options for summer camps or vacations due to social distancing. So, we wanted to look at a few ways that you can spend positive time with your kids. Read on for some suggestions from DealDash.

Family Book Club

This may seem crazy, but it’s amazing how much reading can bring a family together. Find a book that your youngest reader can enjoy and have the family read and discuss what’s in the book. It’s something simple that allows everyone to share their thoughts. If there’s a huge age difference, you could also opt to do multiple books so that your oldest isn’t reading Dr. Seuss all summer.

DealDash Can Help With Lawn Games

There are a million options for outdoor games. So, consider cleaning your old games up and getting the family together for some fun. You can find something that requires limited skills like bocce ball or horseshoes. For something with a little more coordination, consider Badminton, Volleyball or Croquet. My favorites are probably bocce ball and croquet. Just make sure the kids aren’t too competitive.

If you’re in the market for some lawn games or other outdoor activities, look no further than DealDash. You will find traditional things such as sports equipment, but you can also find outdoor games for the family as well. Browse in the Hobbies, Toys, Outdoors, and Games category at this link right here.

Water games

There’s nothing better than getting to hose down when it’s hot outside. I love the simplicity of using a slip n’ slide or a sprinkler system. If you want something that lends itself to games, consider water balloons or water guns. There are also a number of relay races that you can find on the internet that incorporate water games in them.

My favorite is using clothes that have been dunked in water. Divide into teams and have 1 set of clothes and 1 large bucket filled with water for each team. The first person runs the clothes to the water bucket, dunks them, and puts them on. They return to the starting line, take the clothes off and hands them to the next person. Each person repeats until everyone has finished. The first team done is the winner. This is a blast, especially if you use really large clothing.

Summer is always tons of fun, and these tips will help your family enjoy some downtime. Following these suggestions will help everyone in the family have a great time during the summer, even if they can’t go to camp this year. Thanks so much for reading this article.

DealDash Cooks: Lots of Veggies for Kids

DealDash

Vegetables are healthy for everyone, especially growing kids. Here are some ways to increase the veggie consumption in your house, from DealDash.

Each and every parent wants their kids to be healthy, of course. However, getting them to do things like eat more vegetables can be difficult and time-consuming. Here are some suggestions from DealDash to get your kids excited about vegetables.

Kids in the Kitchen

First, to get your kids excited about veggies, let them take some ownership. You can involve your child in not only meal planning but also meal preparation. People, especially kids, dislike thinking that they don’t have choices when it comes to food. Avoid the power struggle by letting your child participate in meal planning, grocery shopping, and meal prep. By involving your child in this process they will feel like they are getting to make their own choices. And they are – with a little guidance from mom and dad!

Use Dips and Sauce to Entice

Next, let’s face it, some vegetables just aren’t very tasty by themselves. This is solved by serving vegetables with sauces, spices, and dips. Most kids and adults enjoy eating things like carrots, celery, and cucumbers by themselves, but other veggies need a little spicing up. Most vegetables’ taste is vastly improved with the addition of salt, pepper, and either butter or olive oil. Some vegetables can become tastier with some ranch or cheese sauce, or even a squirt of lemon or lime juice. Do a little experimenting to see what your child likes.

Hide Them (With Help From DealDash)

Finally, sometimes you just have to hide those veggies to get your kids to eat them. As parents, occasionally you might run into a stubborn kid who just won’t try your vegetables. However, since you just want the best nutrition for your child, you just have to hide those veggies! The easiest way to hide the offending vegetables is in a smoothie. Most kids love a fresh (or frozen) fruit smoothie, and it’s an excellent place to hide things that they normally wouldn’t eat, like spinach or kale. You will need a blender or food processor to make your smoothies.

DealDash has blenders, mixers, and food processors up for auction. You will find high-quality and famous brand blenders at this link right here. DealDash doesn’t just have blenders, though! You will find hundreds of items in the Kitchen and Dining category. Just click this link to browse.

Getting your kids to eat more vegetables could seem like an impossible task. However, it’s not a big problem if you follow these suggestions. Remember, as a last resort, you can hide veggies in a smoothie. A cup of frozen fruit, the veggie of your choice, a small container of yogurt, and a splash of milk is all you need!

You need a blender to make a smoothie. The Kitchen and Dining category has blenders and food processors. Visit now to see how much you can save. Have a great time on DealDash and happy bidding everyone!

DealDash Kids: Struggling With Schoolwork?

DealDash

Homeschooling is very challenging – especially if you weren’t prepared. Help your child if they’re struggling with these tips from DealDash.

Let’s face it, very few parents who are now homeschooling their children were prepared for it. In fact, many kids who are normally excellent students are now struggling with their assignments at home. Here are a few things that you can do as a parent to help make schoolwork go a little easier for your child, from DealDash.

Use Their Teacher’s Office Hours and Email

Firstly, you can talk to your child’s teacher, most teachers have set “office hours” when they can be contacted online. If your child’s teacher doesn’t have set office hours, be sure to email them. Let them know if your child is having difficulty with the schoolwork that has been assigned.

If your child is typically a good student but is struggling, it’s possible that the work just wasn’t explained properly. It can be very difficult to understand the directions if they are given during a conference call with the whole class. There are too many distractions. Email your child’s teacher, I’m sure they will be happy to help.

Spread Breaks Throughout the Day

Next, if your child has a lot of schoolwork to do during the day, be sure they are taking regular breaks. A good rule of thumb is 45 minutes of classwork, and then a 15-minute break, with a longer 30-minute break for lunch. Let your child do what they want for their breaks, but try to encourage going outside for some fresh air in your yard or having a healthy snack such as some cut up fruit, cheese, hummus, etc.

Set Up a Prize Box – Let DealDash Help!

Finally, set up a prize box with some prizes that you know your kids will love. For each day they do their schoolwork give them a “ticket”. When they receive 20 tickets they can get a prize! You might also give out tickets for extra credit such as reading a chapter of a book, playing a math game on the computer, or anything else you can think of to encourage their learning.

DealDash is the perfect place to get prizes to put in your homeschooling prize box. You will find Legos, stuffed animals, and other toys. The best part about getting items by winning or BInning them is that you don’t even have to leave your house! All items are delivered right to your house with free shipping. Click here to browse the toys – I’m sure you’ll find something your kids will love! Remember, DealDash is for adults age 18+, only. No underage bidders are permitted on the site.

DealDash Kids: Are You Really Connecting?

DealDash

You might be with your kids 24/7 now, but are you really connecting? Here are some suggestions from DealDash to keep your bond close.

Most of the country is still on a stay-at-home order, so if you have kids, you are with them constantly. Physical closeness is one thing, and emotional closeness is another, though. Read this new article from DealDash for ways to really connect with your child while we are all at home together.

Eat All of Your Meals Together

First off, a great thing about social distancing is that many families are now able to eat all of their meals together. It’s a great way to save money, and it also provides extra opportunities to connect with your children. You should sit down and eat all three meals per day with your family if you can.  Asking them what is going on with their classes online will really help you to connect with your child, and mealtime is the perfect opportunity!

Cook With Your Kids (and DealDash)

Next, someone has to cook all of those meals that you are eating together. Another way to connect with your kids is to let them help cook the meals. Smaller kids can have easy jobs such as helping you get all of the utensils, plates, and cups out. Older kids can help you wash fruits and veggies, measure ingredients, and use small appliances such as the stand mixer or toaster oven – with your supervision, of course!

DealDash is the perfect place to get small appliances and cooking utensils. You will find roasting pans, cutting boards, knives, and many small appliances. Winning (or BINning) kitchen items from DealDash is fun and you don’t even have to leave your house since everything is delivered with free shipping. Click here to browse the Kitchen and Dining category – I’m sure you’ll find something you love! Remember, DealDash is for adults age 18+, only. No underage bidders are permitted on the site.

Take Up a Hobby Together

Finally, even though your kids are most likely going to school online, there is still a lot of downtime during the day. If your kids have been complaining about being bored, why not consider getting involved in a hobby that you think your child might like? This can be a hobby that you have done before or a completely new venture. It all depends on what you and your child are both interested in pursuing.

Many big box stores are offering curbside pick-up so you can order supplies online and then pick them up outside the store so you can observe the social distancing protocols. Starting a hobby with your child is a super way to spend some quality time together and really connect with each other.

Thanks for Reading

Taking the time to really connect with your child will help ease their minds during this stressful time. You will have a great time, too, so be sure to take the time to make a connection with your child while we are all stuck at home.

If you need new kitchen supplies DealDash can help. You will find toasters, stand mixers, roasting pans, and more. Visit now to see how much you can save. Have a great time and happy bidding everyone!
