Building a simple bench from scratch is very easy even with a minimum of woodworking skills and can even be a fun family project.

Building a bench from scratch can be a wonderful bonding experience with your kids, and should only take an afternoon unless you decide to turn the “simple” bench into a much more intricate one.

Skin cancer might not be a fun subject to talk about, but since we are in the thick of summer it’s an important thing to think about.

By this time everyone know that going outside in the hot summer sun without any kind of SPF sunscreen or protective clothing such as a hat or sunglasses is not a good idea. Sometimes we need a little reminder, though, so here is yours:

When I asked my daughter what she wanted to do this upcoming weekend her answer surprised me. She said she wanted to have a backyard campout.

My son used to request backyard campouts when he was younger, but my daughter was always too scared to participate.
