DealDash Skin: Minimizing Pores
Pores. Everyone has them, and it’s an important part of skin care to take care of them. Here are some tips and suggestions from DealDash.
Contrary to popular belief, pores don’t grow and shrink at will. Rather, pores appear larger when they are dirty and clogged. Don’t believe claims of skin cleansers “shrinking” pores, they are just cleaning them out so they appear smaller. Here are some ideas from DealDash to keep your pores looking their best.
Take Off That Makeup
Removing your makeup at the end of the day is an important part of skin care. If you don’t wear makeup, you can skip this section. Removing your makeup before bed is important, your skin does most of it’s rejuvenating and healing at night when you’re sleeping, so be sure that you have a clean face to make things go more smoothly.
Take off your makeup using a makeup remover or a micellar water cleanser. Personally, I use a micellar water cleanser all over my face, and then remove my eye makeup with a makeup remover. After doing these two steps I splash water on my face and blot dry with a towel before putting on my serum, eye cream, and night time moisturizer.
Exfoliation = Smaller Appearing Pores
Using an exfoliant is an excellent way to keep your pores clean and therefore appearing smaller. Skip the drugstore scrub made of nut shells or fruit pits, and get one that is made with sugar or microbeads. The scrubs that are made up of the nut shells or fruit pits can scratch and injure your skin. Sugar scrubs are much better because the sugar just melts away and won’t scratch your delicate skin.
You can even make your own scrub! Make a cup of green tea and add a tablespoon of sugar and a tablespoon of honey after it’s cooled down a bit so it’s warm to the touch but not hot. Smooth the mixture over your face and gently rub it in circles to exfoliate your face. Rinse off with plain water and put dry.
Don’t Skip the Moisturizer
Moisturizing your skin morning and night is an important part of skin care and keeping your pores clean and healthy. After cleansing your skin morning and night be sure to apply a layer of moisturizer. I prefer a thinner moisturizer with SPF 30 during the day,\ and a thicker moisturizer at night. Taking good care of your skin by cleansing, using a scrub, and a moisturizer will keep your skin and pores looking beautifully healthy.
