Have a Relaxing Day – with DealDash

DealDash

Things have been stressful lately. Here are some suggestions from DealDash to help you unwind and relax.

Sometimes we all have bad days. It seems like there have been a lot of those, lately. However, more important than having a bad day is how you react to it. You can either accept that you’re having a bad day, or you can try to relax and treat yourself kindly. Follow these suggestions from DealDash and turn your bad day into something a little better.

Get a Little Exercise

To begin with, a little light exercise can help brighten your mood. Exercise is not only stress-relieving but also an endorphin booster, too. Also, you don’t have to be a top athlete in amazing shape to be able to benefit from some gentle exercise. You can go outside and get a little fresh air and take a walk through your neighborhood. If you prefer something a little more challenging you can take on a hiking or biking trail. If you live near a beach, there’s nothing better than a brisk walk along the water to help you unwind and let your problems fade away.

Spend Time Outdoors

Next, we mentioned this above, but spending time outside can help turn your mood around. If you’re not interested in exercising, that’s fine! Take a drive to your favorite nature spot, find somewhere to sit, and just take in the beauty of nature and listen to the little animals outside. The beach, the forest, or even just a park can help you feel better about your day. Fresh air is an excellent mood-booster and you’ll find your mood has improved after just a short time outside.

DealDash Pets: Fun With Cats

DealDash

There are approximately 95.6 million cats living in homes in the USA! Is yours one of them? If so, DealDash has some suggestions on how to have fun with your cat.

Cats are beautiful and amazing creatures, and I am happy to have two of them – those cuties that you see in the picture above. Cats are playful and fun, and most love to play with their human friends. Here is some information and activities that you can do with your cats, from your “furr-iends” at DealDash.

Are You “Kitten” Me?

Many people make the mistake of not playing with their cats when they grow past the kitten stage. Play is great exercise for your cat as well as a bonding activity to enjoy. You don’t need any fancy lasers or expensive robot toys – one of my kitty’s favorite toys is a 3-foot strip of polar fleece on a plastic rod. You can get them at the pet store for less than $10 or make your own with materials from around the house.

Cats of all ages also like to play with yarn and strong – but please don’t leave them unattended with these as they could get tangled up and trapped. Be sure to put the string toys away in a safe spot when you’re done.

Put Your DealDash Boxes to Good Use

What have you got on DealDash lately? No matter if it was a small kitchen appliance (click here), a video game system (click here), or a piece of furniture (click here), don’t throw that box away immediately! DealDash offers items as small as a baseball up to the size of a bed that all come in boxes, and your cat will have a ball if you keep the box around for a few days for them to play in and scratch on. DealDash also offers cars and trucks up for bid, but those don’t come in boxes, of course!

Keep Your Cat’s Teeth and Coat Healthy

Did you know that cats as young as 2 can develop plaque and tartar on their teeth? A visit to the vet every year is very important to keep their teeth sharp and sparkling clean. In-between the vet visits you can help keep your kitty’s teeth healthy by mixing a bit of dental care food in with their regular food and offer dental treats. You can get these at your vet’s office.

Additionally, a smooth and shiny coat keeps your cat healthy and helps reduce hairballs. Be sure to brush your cat a few times per month. I personally use a rubber brush that collects the loose hair – the less hair your cat swallows while grooming themselves, the less likely they are to leave you a “hairball present” on the floor to clean up. Contrary to popular belief, you can give your cat a bath. If your cat has gotten into something and you want to clean them up, they make both waterless shampoo and wet wipes for cats and dogs.

Thanks “Fur” Reading the Blog

Implement some of these suggestions and your cat will thank you! I hope that you found this DealDash article helpful.

DealDash Family: Indoor Winter Fun

DealDash

With the fun and excitement of the holidays over, your family might be complaining of boredom. No problem, DealDash has some ideas for fun places to go when it’s cold out.

Let’s face it, the younger members of your family have probably already gotten tired of the mountain of toys that they unwrapped just a few weeks ago. The mall can be fun, but you can only go there so many times. Read on for some fun places from DealDash to go that won’t have your family saying “I’m borrrred!”

The Arcade

Going to the arcade might seem like a very old idea to those of us who grew up in the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. However, the kids of today still like going to the arcade – especially if your arcade does a ticket/prize swap. For the younger kids, there are some games that you might be familiar with as an app on your phone, for older kids, there are games such as basketball and giant Connect Four, and for us Gen X and Y’ers, there are classic video games. When my family was on vacation this past summer to Utah, they even had nickel arcades! You can have a lot of fun with just a few dollars.

The Aquarium

Next, the aquarium is one of my family’s favorite activities. Most medium-sized cities have one, and they are usually reasonably priced. We like the aquarium so much that we always buy a yearly pass so we can go as many times as we want for free throughout the year. Typically, if you plan on going to the aquarium at least three times per year then buying the yearly pass makes good financial sense. The aquarium is another place that can be fun for the whole family from kids to seniors. My mother-in-law always enjoys going with us when she is in town. Just be sure to do the math to see if buying a yearly pass makes sense financially.

Jumpy Places

Jumpy places have been popping up all over the place in my area. These are places that have indoor trampolines, big “pools” full of foam, and air-filled structures for kids to climb, slide, and play on. This is the only place on the list that I have included that the adults in the family might not enjoy. However, depending on the facility, usually, the adults are allowed to jump on the trampolines, too.

DealDash’s Family Friendly New Year’s Eve Ideas

DealDash

You don’t have to be a party person to enjoy New Year’s Eve. Here are some family friendly ideas from DealDash to give you some ideas for your evening.

There comes a time for all of us when the idea of going out to spend the night in a crowded bar just isn’t appealing anymore. If you’re like me, spending the night with your family is a much better option. Read on for some suggestions from DealDash to enjoy the night with your family.

PJ Day for Everyone

Firstly, everyone loves wearing PJs, so an idea is to make it a pajama party for the kids. And also this makes life so much easier when you have to carry them to bed. The kids are already comfy and prepared, so you can just lay them down, pull the covers up, and let them doze back off. Also, this is an especially good plan for the type of person who is super excited to stay up until midnight but just can’t quite make it that late.

Invite Friends and Family for a Potluck Dinner

Next, we like to start the night with a bit of a potluck so that no one person has all of the work. As a result, many hands make the lifting light, as they say. We typically try to have an early dinner so that there is time for the kids to take a quick nap. Truth be told, some of our adults sneak a nap in as well. When you make it a pajama party, everyone can nap!

Special New Year’s Treats

Finally, our family really enjoys baking, so we make some sort of dessert every year that the family eats after the ball drops. It may be cookies with glittery sprinkles or it may be something someone found online. Therefore, the only rule is that the kids have to have some type of role in the process. My daughter loves to decorate with frosting and sprinkles.

Grown-Ups, Visit DealDash on New Year’s for a Bid Sale

DealDash loves to do a little something special for the holidays. You might have noticed that there were special sales and challenge badges in the 12 days leading up to Christmas. New Year’s is no exception! Be sure to visit DealDash on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day for special bid sales and events! Just click here. Remember, the DealDash services are offered and may only be used by persons over the age of 18.

Thanks for Reading

Over the years, we’ve found that having a toast is a favorite tradition for our family. We give everyone their drink of choice (including milk or juice for the kids) so that anyone can take part. There’s a very short speech, and we raise our glass. It brings everyone together and allows people to offer a quick message.

Also, if you want to keep the energy up for most of the night, try watching “the ball drop” across the world. It’s really cool to see how everyone celebrates, and Saudi Arabia typically has one of the most beautiful shows imaginable. You won’t be disappointed.

Be sure to visit DealDash on New Year’s Eve and Day for special promotions and sales. DealDash has everything you need for your home and family. Visit now! Good luck and happy bidding everyone!

DealDash Cooks: Next Level Christmas Cookies

DealDash

Classic Christmas cookies are delicious, but why not take them up a notch? DealDash has some great cookie ideas for you.

Christmas cookies have become a staple of the holidays, but everyone makes the same old Christmas cookies. Sure, we could tell you to try new cookie cutters and create different shapes, but we’d like to look at going a step further. Read on for some tasty unique cookie ideas, from DealDash.

Airbrush Your Sugar Cookies

If you really like your sugar cookies, consider ways to step up your game a bit. Rather than using sprinkles, consider diving into the world of icing or airbrushing. You can find edible airbrushing that will allow you to make your cookies a true piece of art. You can find the equipment at many craft stores and also cooking stores.

Cookie Sandwiches

Another great way to improve the classic is to make cookie sandwiches. Think of an Oreo for this idea. When you make your cookies, place a layer of cream in the middle and make a cookie sandwich.

Candy Bar Cookies

Candy Bar Cookies are the best. How can you go wrong when you combine a piece of candy with your favorite cookie? You can use any style of cookie and follow the normal instructions, then place chunks of your favorite candy on top. Some candies melt a bit but that adds to the gooey-ness of your snack. Using chocolate makes this one of my favorite options.

New Twists on Old Classics

  • If you’re looking for something really unique, try making vanilla meringue cookies. It seems like a pretty ordinary recipe, but you can use a little food coloring or food sprinkles to change the color and make it look a little more festive. While these cookies taste good, I love to make them with alternating green and red meringue to really pull in the Christmas spirit.
  • Everyone has heard of an Oatmeal cookie, but I like to make it a little different. In the same way that you can add a bit of extra flavor with raisins, I like to add cranberries or chocolate chips. People will see the oatmeal and find comfort in the fact that it’s a recipe they’re familiar with. But they’ll see the red from the cranberries and it will take them by surprise a bit.

DealDash Has Baking Supplies

Baking cookies (and whatever else!) is always a lot easier if you have nice fresh equipment. DealDash has the equipment that you need for cooking and baking. No matter if you want a fancy KitchenAid stand mixer or a regular mixer, DealDash has you covered. Just click here.  There are also auctions for knife sets, saucepans, cutting boards, and other cooking implements. You can see all of the choices in the Kitchen and Dining category right here.

Thanks for Reading

You really can’t go wrong with any Christmas cookies that you make, but we like to suggest trying something new. Let us know what you think! Thanks so much for reading this DealDash article on making cookies. Let us know what your favorite type of cookie is down below.
