DealDash Kids: It’s Hobby Time!

Now more than ever, it’s important for kids to have a hobby. Here are some suggestions for why you should help them get started, from DealDash.

If your kids are anything like mine, they have been either in the house or backyard since March. This can be difficult for kids, and they need an outlet. This is a great reason why you should help your child find a hobby. There are lots of other reasons, too, so here are a few from DealDash.

A Way to Occupy the Time

As I mentioned above, a hobby is a great way to spend time. Time is something that kids probably have a lot of right now since school is out and most camps and activities have been canceled. If your child has been wandering around the house saying “I’m borrrreedd” every few minutes, it’s definitely time to help them find a hobby.

Some people think that a hobby has to involve some sort of skill, but this isn’t true for a lot of hobbies – at least to get started. If your child wants to get serious about their hobby then they will develop skill over time. However, to just get started they only need the willingness to learn and the materials to do the hobby.

Discover Self-Esteem and Help it Grow

Next, picking up a hobby can be a key factor in building a child’s self-esteem. Things have been very strange for the past few months, and it has left kids feeling very uncertain about things. Having a good self-esteem can help them “roll” with the changes that are certain to come once school begins again.

DealDash Kid’s Fitness Tips

Everyone has been encouraged to stay home for a while now, so your kids have probably been sitting around inside a lot lately. Here are some tips to get them up and moving, from DealDash.

There are many physical and mental health benefits of working out and staying active. Did you know that this also includes children, too? Physical activity can help you with your mood, and can also help you stay alert and active. Physical fitness and exercise habits will help your children stay fit and active their whole lives. Read on for some tips to help, from DealDash.

Sports Are the Answer, and Fun, Too!

To begin with, sports can be an important component of a healthy lifestyle. It’s very highly recommended for youngsters to become accustomed from an early age to learn about and enjoy sports. To achieve this, the simplest thing to try is to make sports a fun part of your day. You should let them choose the activity or sport they like best. Sometimes, this also means that they might have to try a few out to decide which ones they are partial to and which ones they don’t care to do. If you need some suggestions, you can have them try swimming, hiking, running, soccer, softball, volleyball, or maybe just riding bikes around the neighborhood.

DealDash Can Help With Sports Equipment

Next, did you know that DealDash offers lots of fitness products? You will find all sorts of sports-related items such as fitness trackers, exercise machines, and yoga gear. Just click here and you can check out the options. If you prefer to browse, you can click here to see all of the items in the Hobbies, Toys, Outdoors, and Games category.

Make Sure the Whole Family Participates

Finally, no one likes being singled out, so make sure that your whole family participates in the fitness plan. This isn’t to say that everyone has to do the exact same thing and at the same intensity. For example, teenage big brother probably has quite a bit more speed and endurance than grandpa. However, just about anyone with any fitness level can take a walk around the neighborhood after dinner. Another activity that all fitness levels can participate in is swimming. Some family members can do laps, and others can do a little aqua-jogging.

DealDash Prepares Kids for Back to School

In most communities, “Back to school” will probably look different this year. Here are some tips from DealDash to help prepare for anything.

We might still have about a month before school starts, but it’s important to be prepared, especially this year. Most places don’t actually know what “back to school” is going to look like, yet. This year might include in-person, online, or a hybrid learning model. However, parents want to be sure to help their kids make the transition back to school as successful as possible, no matter which way they end up going. Here are some tips to help make this school year as successful as possible for your children, from DealDash.

Get Back Into a Routine, Starting NOW

To begin with, I don’t know about you, but my kids have been staying up later at night and sleeping later in the day. It will take a little work on your part as a parent, but be sure they get back into a morning school routine. You need to start their morning school routine about two weeks before they are ready to head back to school, so fairly soon for some parts of the USA.

If your kids typically have to get up at 7 AM for school and go to bed at 8 PM at night but have been having more of a 9 AM-10 PM schedule lately, it’s time to shift it. To do this, simply move wake-up and bedtime 15 minutes up on the first day. Continue this schedule for a few days, then shift it up another 15 minutes. Repeat this process until they are back on a normal school schedule.

Calm Their Fears

Next, the world has been a little scary lately, especially for kids. Kids typically have some apprehension when school begins again, and this year will be a little more difficult than usual. You want to take the time to help calm any fears that your child may be having with going back to school.

Unfortunately, if you don’t know yet how school will be happening in your area yet, it can be hard to give your kids the information they need. It might be helpful to go over the different ways that school might happen this year (in-person, online, or a hybrid) and talk a little bit about each different scenario.

Cheer Up Your Child With a Gift From DealDash

Finally, even if your child is anxious about school starting, a small gift will cheer them up! DealDash can help you find a gift, small or large, for your child. For younger kids, especially those starting Kindergarten or First Grade, a soft and cuddly stuffy is just what they need to feel secure. Click here for a cuddly friend. For older kids, a Lego set or some sports equipment would be a great gift. You can browse the Hobbies, Toys, Outdoors, and Games category at this link right here. No matter what you choose, your child will love it! Please remember, bidding on DealDash.com is for adults 18+.

DealDash Redecorates a Gender Neutral Child’s Room

If your child is ready to upgrade their bedroom, it’s easy. Let DealDash help you decorate their new room.

Redecorating your child’s bedroom doesn’t have to be a chore. It can be fun for both of you. Be sure to talk to them beforehand and get some input from them. Ask them what colors they might like to paint the room, and if they would like a theme. If they want a theme, then you need to read this article from DealDash.

Animal Friends for All, DealDash Can Help

To begin with, I know that sometimes there just aren’t enough bedrooms in the home, and siblings have to share. This can be problematic for decorating if a boy and a girl are sharing. However, that isn’t an issue at all if you use an animal theme. Most little boys and girls all love animals. You could do a jungle, ocean, or cat/dog animal themed room.

If you and the kids decide on an animal room, DealDash can help. You will find lots of adorable things for a kid’s bedroom. Every little kid needs a night light, and if you click right here you will see the different animal night lights that DealDash has up for bid. You can also check the Home, Garden, and Tools category, right here.

Princesses, Knights, and Dragons for Boys and Girls

Next, the second option that works great for both boys and girls is a princess, knights, and dragon room. You can have a big castle either printed out or painted on the wall, and you can even add extra touches such as glitter to make it special. If this is specifically for boys you can leave out the princesses if they don’t care for them, and skip the dragons for the girls if they find them too scary. This is a very easy theme to use, there are plenty of places you can use with the upgrade such as sheets, a room border, and night light.

The Old Wast

Finally, another super option for a gender neutral room is the old west. Typically when you think about cowboys you might think “that’s just for boys”, but there were plenty of cowgirls as well. For a cute old west theme, you could paint an old-timey jail on the wall, or even a desert and cactus theme. If you want to get really creative, you could even put wheels and a canopy on their bed to look like an old stagecoach.

Thanks for Reading

Thanks for reading this new DealDash Reviewed blog on decorating your child’s gender neutral room. Remember, the most important part is really listening to see what your child is interested in. Don’t just use a theme because it looks “cool”, make sure your child is actually interested in the subject.

If you are shopping for decorative bedroom items check DealDash. You will find lots of bed and home items. Visit DealDash now. Have a great time and happy bidding!

DealDash Kids: Struggling With Schoolwork?

Homeschooling is very challenging – especially if you weren’t prepared. Help your child if they’re struggling with these tips from DealDash.

Let’s face it, very few parents who are now homeschooling their children were prepared for it. In fact, many kids who are normally excellent students are now struggling with their assignments at home. Here are a few things that you can do as a parent to help make schoolwork go a little easier for your child, from DealDash.

Use Their Teacher’s Office Hours and Email

Firstly, you can talk to your child’s teacher, most teachers have set “office hours” when they can be contacted online. If your child’s teacher doesn’t have set office hours, be sure to email them. Let them know if your child is having difficulty with the schoolwork that has been assigned.

If your child is typically a good student but is struggling, it’s possible that the work just wasn’t explained properly. It can be very difficult to understand the directions if they are given during a conference call with the whole class. There are too many distractions. Email your child’s teacher, I’m sure they will be happy to help.

Spread Breaks Throughout the Day

Next, if your child has a lot of schoolwork to do during the day, be sure they are taking regular breaks. A good rule of thumb is 45 minutes of classwork, and then a 15-minute break, with a longer 30-minute break for lunch. Let your child do what they want for their breaks, but try to encourage going outside for some fresh air in your yard or having a healthy snack such as some cut up fruit, cheese, hummus, etc.

Set Up a Prize Box – Let DealDash Help!

Finally, set up a prize box with some prizes that you know your kids will love. For each day they do their schoolwork give them a “ticket”. When they receive 20 tickets they can get a prize! You might also give out tickets for extra credit such as reading a chapter of a book, playing a math game on the computer, or anything else you can think of to encourage their learning.

DealDash is the perfect place to get prizes to put in your homeschooling prize box. You will find Legos, stuffed animals, and other toys. The best part about getting items by winning or BInning them is that you don’t even have to leave your house! All items are delivered right to your house with free shipping. Click here to browse the toys – I’m sure you’ll find something your kids will love! Remember, DealDash is for adults age 18+, only. No underage bidders are permitted on the site.
