DealDash Cooks: Next Level Christmas Cookies

DealDash

Classic Christmas cookies are delicious, but why not take them up a notch? DealDash has some great cookie ideas for you.

Christmas cookies have become a staple of the holidays, but everyone makes the same old Christmas cookies. Sure, we could tell you to try new cookie cutters and create different shapes, but we’d like to look at going a step further. Read on for some tasty unique cookie ideas, from DealDash.

Airbrush Your Sugar Cookies

If you really like your sugar cookies, consider ways to step up your game a bit. Rather than using sprinkles, consider diving into the world of icing or airbrushing. You can find edible airbrushing that will allow you to make your cookies a true piece of art. You can find the equipment at many craft stores and also cooking stores.

Cookie Sandwiches

Another great way to improve the classic is to make cookie sandwiches. Think of an Oreo for this idea. When you make your cookies, place a layer of cream in the middle and make a cookie sandwich.

Candy Bar Cookies

Candy Bar Cookies are the best. How can you go wrong when you combine a piece of candy with your favorite cookie? You can use any style of cookie and follow the normal instructions, then place chunks of your favorite candy on top. Some candies melt a bit but that adds to the gooey-ness of your snack. Using chocolate makes this one of my favorite options.

New Twists on Old Classics

  • If you’re looking for something really unique, try making vanilla meringue cookies. It seems like a pretty ordinary recipe, but you can use a little food coloring or food sprinkles to change the color and make it look a little more festive. While these cookies taste good, I love to make them with alternating green and red meringue to really pull in the Christmas spirit.
  • Everyone has heard of an Oatmeal cookie, but I like to make it a little different. In the same way that you can add a bit of extra flavor with raisins, I like to add cranberries or chocolate chips. People will see the oatmeal and find comfort in the fact that it’s a recipe they’re familiar with. But they’ll see the red from the cranberries and it will take them by surprise a bit.

DealDash: Thanksgiving’s Over! Organize Your Cabinets

DealDash

Thanksgiving is over! If you hosted your kitchen is probably in need of some assistance. DealDash can help!

We all love Thanksgiving, but there’s a price to pay when you’re making food for your extended family. Typically, your kitchen ends up taking the worst of the damage. Trying to re-organize can be difficult, so we wanted to offer a few tips. Read on for helpful information from DealDash.

Clear Out the Clutter

Start by cleaning out the clutter. You can’t organize a cabinet that is still in shambles. Get rid of the spices that you can’t identify. If you have any spices that are opened and not in a normal plastic bottle, you should consider using baggies. I’ve found that labeling a baggie with a date and name of the spice is incredibly helpful. It may be good to list the serving size as well.

Use Storage to Help

  • Use Tupperware containers to make everything neat again. It’s also helpful to use Tupperware as a bit of a box for your spices or packets of mixes. It’s similar to the idea we suggested to keep a playroom neat. By having a place for everything, you know that you’ll be able to find it when you’re looking.
  • Buy a spice rack. These come in many varieties. If you have the space for a true spice rack that can hang, it’s worth its weight in gold. If you don’t have that kind of space, consider buying a spice rack that is tiered so that the spices are at different levels. It makes finding the right spice much easier.
  • Finally, you may want to consider getting small magnetic jars. You can paint the lid or side with chalkboard paint so that you can label the jar. Having something with a little character can also act as a decoration piece in your kitchen. Using a jar also looks a little nicer than plastic bags.

DealDash Has Storage for You

Did your relatives take all of your Tupperware and other storage containers home with leftovers? No problem! DealDash has something even better – beautiful glass containers for your food. These containers look elegant and “class up” any style of kitchen. Click this link to find these storage containers as well as other storage for your home.

DealDash’s Thanksgiving Desserts That Aren’t Pies

DealDash

Thanksgiving is coming, it’s pie time! However, not everyone likes pie. Here are a few suggestions from DealDash for the non-pie lovers out there.

When you think of Thanksgiving dessert, you think of a slice of pie with whip cream or a side of ice cream. It’s been the standard for decades. We’d like to offer the chance to mix things up a bit this year. Whether you’re a master in the kitchen or someone who likes to keep it simple, we’ve got the solution for you. Read on for some ideas from DealDash.

Skip the Pie, Keep the Pumpkin

Some people are really attached to their traditions, so we’ll start with a few options that are close to the original. A quick search will find great recipes for pumpkin pie brownies that will almost melt in your mouth. For what it’s worth, I’d eat a good pumpkin roll every day of the year if given the option. Adding the chocolate flavor to your traditional pumpkin can really set it apart. If you’re more of an apple person, you could try apple dumplings.

Everyone Likes Cake

For those who are a bit more adventurous, you may want to look at Nutella Butter Cake recipes. This cake looks more like a brownie when you cut it up. And it may be one of the richest desserts you’ll ever taste. You could opt for something that will impress the crowd. Churros are much easier to make than people realize. Because you’re making something “different” you’ll impress a lot of people.

Cookies for Everyone

If you’re looking to keep it simple this year, you can opt for the classics. Cookies are always a safe option. Whether you prefer a classic chocolate chip or oatmeal raisin, you can’t go wrong. Just be sure that you know if anyone has allergies. I’m also a big fan of cheesecake. It’s something that you could make on your own, but it’s easy to find a good variety pack in the store. It’s always nice when you can buy one thing and get multiple flavors.

DealDash is the Place for Kitchen Supplies

No matter which of these desserts you chose to make you will want to get your kitchen supplies from DealDash. DealDash is the best place to get all of the items, big and small, for your kitchen. If you would like to check out the pie servers and other kitchen items on DealDash, just click here. You will find cutlery, cutting boards, stand mixers, and more in the Kitchen and Dining category.

Dessert is many people’s favorite part of the Thanksgiving meal. Thanks so much for reading this DealDash article on hosting Thanksgiving. I hope that it was helpful to help you think of a few twists on dessert this year.

DealDash Guide for Hosting Thanksgiving

DealDash

Thanksgiving will be here in a few short weeks. If you’re hosting this year you’ll want to read these tips from DealDash.

Everyone loves Thanksgiving- it’s the perfect chance to see your family and over-indulge in food a bit. That diet can wait until next week! What most of us don’t talk about is the fact that someone has to host Thanksgiving dinner. It can be a pretty stressful day for the host. We’ve got a few tips to make hosting Thanksgiving as painless as possible. Read on for more information, from DealDash.

Pre-Set the Table

Our family has made a habit of pre-setting the table the night before. Rather than waiting until Thanksgiving to start our prep, as we’re cooking the turkey, we like to get the plates, silverware and table cloths out and at least get everything on the table. In a perfect world, we try setting the table, but when you’re making dinner for a dozen people, space can be a precious thing. By having everything out, it will speed the process up a bit on Thanksgiving morning. Of course, if you have naughty pets that like to sneak up on the table when you’re not looking you might not want to do this, Instead, you can just gather all of the dining items in a central location for easy set-up while everything is cooking.

Prepare Food Ahead of Time

If you’ve got the chance to prepare anything ahead of time, we encourage you to do so. Making your key ingredients ahead of time will save a lot of stress. After all, it’s not difficult to freeze a pie, then pull it out on Thanksgiving morning. You can also make mashed potatoes, potato salad, green bean casserole, and many more dishes the day before. This will save tons of time when you are busy on Thanksgiving Day entertaining your relatives.

Use Your Slow Cooker From DealDash

Along the same lines, allow time to do some of the work for you. Most of us forget about the wonder that is a crockpot/slow cooker. As I have said many times before, DealDash is the best place to get small appliances. One of the best kitchen items ever, the slow cooker, is available on DealDash! When you use your DealDash slow cooker you will save tons of time and effort.

There are some slow-cooker turkey recipes on the internet. We realize that you may not want to cook your turkey in a slow-cooker, but there’s nothing wrong with using it to make vegetables, potatoes, or even a cobbler. If you would like to check out the slow cookers and other kitchen items on DealDash, just click here. You will find blenders, waffle makers, coffee makers, and more in the Kitchen and Dining category.

Cook ALL the Food

It’s always a good idea to over-prepare. If you think that you have 10 people showing up, plan for 12-15. You never want to run out of food if you can avoid it. This idea also goes for overnight guests. If you’ve got the space to use, clean a few extra sets of linens and toss have them ready for a last-minute guest.

Thanks for Reading

As your dinner draws to an end, it’s reasonable to remind everyone that you could use a little help. As they say, “Many hands make light work”. Ask for a little help as you clean up so that you can enjoy the holiday as well. Thanks so much for reading this DealDash article on hosting Thanksgiving. I hope that it was helpful to you.

DealDash Maximizes Thanksgiving Fun with Family

DealDash

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to have fun and make memories with your family. Here are some tips from DealDash to maximize the time with your family this year.

In the modern world, the holidays can be stressful. We all have so many activities going on, families are more spread out than they’ve ever been. Sometimes it seems the younger generation doesn’t have the patience to wait for anything. So, we wanted to take a few moments to look at what you can do to ensure a great Thanksgiving holiday this year. Read on for more information from DealDash.

Start a Family Holiday scrapbook

By creating a scrapbook, you’re building in the opportunity to give the youngest members of the family to have some arts & crafts time. You’re also building a tradition and developing a keepsake they could have for the rest of their lives. If you all participate in making a few scrapbook pages at each family gathering you will have a wonderful family heirloom for the future.

Making dinner should be a family task

So many families have forgotten that joy can be part of the cooking process. There’s nothing more adorable than getting pictures of toddlers trying to help make the pumpkin pie. Rather than having everyone bring individual pieces of the meal, make Thanksgiving prep a family event. Let grandma teach the secrets to her perfect mashed potatoes (it’s adding a little extra love). Not only will the youngsters learn some culinary skills, but it will also help build the family bond. Gone are the days of Mom and Grandma spending all day alone in the kitchen – make it a family task!

We’re closer than ever before – Let DealDash Help!

If you’re like me, you’ve got family in another state. Sometimes it can be unrealistic to get everyone together for Thanksgiving dinner. Whether it’s because of college or job opportunities, it can be tough being away from family. Facetime is a great way to bring those people to the dinner table with you. Now that Facebook has come up with the Portal, life has gotten even easier. If you opt for that route, you can set the portal out on a table and the monitor will adjust to follow you.

DealDash has items that can help you communicate with family far away. Laptops, Pixelbooks, computers, and cell phones are often offered on DealDash. These items can help you connect with your family far and near. Find all of these items and many more in the Electronics and Computers category. Just click here!

Turn off the TV

I know, football is tradition, and who doesn’t love watching all 3 games? But it’s important to remember that Thanksgiving is about family. Rather than watching the game, try listening to it on the radio (or an app on your phone) and going out to play catch. You can always watch the best replays later after dessert.
