Being a parent means that you sometimes have to make difficult choices for your kids, even if they don’t agree with you.

DealDash Roasts Pumpkin Seeds

Since you are probably carving your pumpkins around this time, I figured it was time for a roasted pumpkin seed recipe.

Roasted pumpkin seeds are absolutely delicious, a healthy snack, and fun to make. What’s not to love? You can roast your pumpkin seeds with a basic recipe like the one below, or you can always get creative and add ingredients such as cinnamon and sugar, cayenne pepper, oil and vinegar, cocoa…The varieties are  practically endless! DealDash Cooks: Zucchini Noodles

Veggie spiral slicers have been all the rage this past summer, and making zucchini noodle “pasta” has never been easier. Here is a delicious recipe for Zucchini “Pasta” with meatballs.

I never thought that I would be a supporter of zucchini pasta, but here we are in 2016, and I am here to say that it’s pretty good! DealDash Dinner as a Family

Most people would agree that eating dinner as a family is important. However, with today’s busy schedules it’s hard to find the time.

With all of the soccer games, one or both parents working late, and tons of homework it’s hard to eat dinner together. However, since it’s important you and your family should schedule family dinner on your calendars at least once per week, but preferably more. Write it in on the calendar just as you would any other appointment, and stick to it!

DealDash Cooks: 2 Great Salads

Now that it’s getting warmer outside my family is eating a lot more salad than before. Here are 2 of my favorite salads.

BLT Salad with Lime Vinaigrette

Ingredients for the salad:

  • 4 slices bacon, diced
  • 4 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • 1 avocado, halved, seeded, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • Optionally, you can also add 1/2 cup of pomegranate seeds
  • Optionally, you can also add some corn
  • Optionally, you can also add some shredded or crumbled cheese (cheddar, goat)
Ingredients for the lime vinaigrette:
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • Zest of 1 lime
