Skip the Tools That Make Chores Easier

If you have the time you will want to go for more calorie burning house cleaning options like hand washing your clothes. You can also try raking leaves instead of using a leaf blower or using a push mower instead of a riding lawn mower. By making choices like these you will be doing a lot to help yourself get fit and healthy.

Music Helps You Clean and Dance

One thing that you can do in order to get yourself motivated to clean is creating a list of music that really gets you moving. This way you can enjoy listening to music that you enjoy while getting your home clean. You might not even think that the housework is as troublesome as it once was if you are enjoying music while you are doing it. If you throw in some dance steps while sweeping or dusting, all the better!

DealDash: Surprising Things That Clean Windows

DealDash cleans windows

You might be surprised at how many different ways there are to clean your windows. Let DealDash enlighten you…

Do you find it hard to clean your windows properly? Besides the “elbow grease” that you have to use, you also have to buy special products…Or do you? Luckily for you, this might not be your only option. To add a bit of shine on your windows, you can use some products that you already have in your home. You will find that your work will be easier and you will also save money.

Ammonia, for Long-Term Cleaning

If you want your windows to stay clean for an extended period of time, try mixing ammonia with a dishwashing product (like Dawn!); this creates a protective layer on your window. Put some water in a pot or bucket and add a cup of ammonia and a cup of dishwashing solution. Mix them together and then clean the windows with a soft cloth that you have dunked in the solution.

Rubbing Alcohol Eliminates the Fingerprints

Fingerprints disappear if the window is cleaned with rubbing alcohol. How do you accomplish this? Dilute the rubbing alcohol in some water then add a few drops of essential oils to create a pleasant smell in your room. Try lavender, lemon, or eucalyptus. After you have cleaned the window, you will not need to rinse.

Potatoes Remove Stubborn Stains

You’re not going to believe this one! When you have dirty windows with old caked on spots and stains, try to eliminate them using a slice of raw potato. Rub the spot and wait 5-10 minutes until the spots start to dry. Clean them with a mix of rubbing alcohol and water after the area has dried.

Try Vinegar for Mineral Deposits on Windows

The windows that are close to the sink in your kitchen or your bathroom can get dirty with spots of mineral deposits from the splashed water. Don’t worry because white vinegar is your best friend in this case. Dilute some white vinegar in water. Spray the solution on your window and clean it with a soft cloth.

Salt Eliminates the Matte Film

Many windows, especially those in your kitchen, have a matte appearance. This is because of the film made up of dirt, steam or oil spots. These spots can be cleaned when you use kitchen salt. Dissolve it in white vinegar and water then rub your windows with a sponge.

Baking Soda Eliminates Paint Spots

Have you re-painted and weren’t extra careful? If your window has paint spots that have become hardened after some time, you can use a solution of 1/2 a cup of hot water and a Tablespoon of baking soda. Soak a cloth in this solution and rub it on the paint spot until it disappears. You might have to scrub a little.

Congratulations, you now have the cleanest windows in town, and you didn’t break the budget with cleaning products!

DealDash Gets Your Cleaning Schedule in Shape

DealDash cleaning

DealDash would like to help you get on a cleaning schedule. Scheduling your cleaning at home can make life easier.

Have you ever thought about creating a cleaning schedule? If your house feels like a mess, perhaps you should. It is much easier to complete tasks with a schedule for cleaning your home than to have it all pile up. What’s your favorite part of cleaning? Being done with cleaning, of course!

A housekeeping schedule can be created for a day, a week, a quarter or even a season. If you’ve never had a cleaning schedule and your house is reasonably clean you might wonder, “why even bother?” After reading the reasons I list below, you might want to think again.

Top 4 Reasons to Make a Schedule

  1. A schedule gives you the time to prioritize what needs to be cleaned the most

Making a cleaning schedule allows you to focus on specific stuff that you use daily. You know that the dishes have to be washed daily, then there is laundry to be done, etc. A schedule will make you prioritize the most important items and other items you use in your house.

If you are good about keeping up with your new cleaning schedule, it’s going to make life easier. The daily list will be short enough, allowing you to accomplish everything on it. You will hit all the spots that are in real need of a cleaning; this is the most positive effect you will have from a cleaning schedule.

Don’t Go Alone

  1. A schedule Encourages everyone in the home participate in the cleaning

If you’re an overworked parent, have you ever thought about this? Why do you feel like you are the only one in your home that does the cleaning? Or why are you the only one who can “see” what stuff must be cleaned, while everyone else is minding their own business, ignoring the mess? Then you feel unhappy with everyone?

You are not alone. Thus, creating a cleaning schedule on paper or a white board can resolve this problem. Put it on the fridge or some other spot where everyone can see it and talk with your family about it. Make sure everyone understands that you have expectations from them to keep up with their tasks on the list.

  1. Everything in your house will stay clean (most of the time)

I guess everyone had a ‘thing’ in their home that got so filthy you were almost unable to save it, or it took a long time to get it clean again. It might have been a microwave, a pan, or something in the garage. Make sure this does not happen again by following your schedule. Assuming you respect the schedule, the main areas will always be always clean. You won’t face this problem ever again.

  1. A schedule allows you to get the housework done, and also have free time

When you make a cleaning schedule you won’t end up cleaning your home all day. Finally, cleaning must come to an end. Having a clean home is a must so that you can have a beautiful place to live and relax. Following a cleaning schedule is going to allow you to accomplish those results and give you free time to do what you really want – have fun!

DealDash Hangs the Laundry

Some people might say that hanging the laundry outside is ridiculous to bother with when you have a nice dryer inside. But there’s just something about laundry dried outside…

I get it, I get it – you have an expensive new dryer that you got when you bought your new HE washing machine. Why would you hang your laundry outside when you have a nice dryer inside? A few reasons, actually. Here are some of the benefits of hanging your laundry outside to dry in the spring, summer, and fall.

  • It’s cheaper! Things being cheaper is my main motivation for a lot of the things that I do. If you are drying your clothing in your washing machine you are using either gas or electric, and you are most likely making your house a bit hotter as well, which means your air conditioner has to come on more often as well. If you hang your clothing out to dry after they are washed you eliminate both of these money-wasting activities.
  • The sun is anti-bacterial. If you have a child who has “accidents” in either their under wear or in their bed, hanging them out to dry in the sunshine can completely remove the scent if there is any left behind after washing. Also, if any of your laundry got a little bunched up while it was washing, and didn’t get 100% clean, the sun will take care of the rest.
  • You don’t need dryer sheets. I know that I am in the minority, but I hate dryer sheets. I hate how they smell. I hate their waxy feel, and I hate how they seem to leave a little bit of a film on your bath towels that makes them less absorbent. When you hang your clothes out to dry on the line it eliminates the need for the dryer sheets, which makes me very happy.

There are still a couple of months left that you can hang your laundry outside before it gets too cold. Take advantage of the free sunshine and fresh air and get out there! After you’re done hanging the laundry, come back in and check out DealDash. DealDash has Tide liquid, Tide pods, and even small washing machines up for auction! DealDash Cleans Up Your Carpet

Aren’t carpet stains the worst? Well, DealDash is here to help you with some tips to get the stains out.

Picture it, you’re having a party, the snacks and drinks are flowing freely, and you hear “Oops!! My wine!” You inwardly sigh and go get paper towels to at least do a little damage control. The next day you see what an awful stain it really is, and you wonder how you will ever get that stain out.

Or perhaps parties aren’t your thing. Maybe you have your grandchildren over for a visit while their parents are busy. You decide to be the “Cool, fun Grandma” and let them get out the paints. Soon enough you hear “Whhhaahhh Grandmaaa I made a messsss!” Just like in the example above you do a little damage control in the moment and try to deal with the stain later on.

DealDash is here to help, no matter what your situation or stain there are some ways to (hopefully) completely remove it, or at least make it much less noticeable. Here we have a list of some of the most common stains and the best ways to go about removing them.

Wine – Wine is notorious for staining the carpet. It’s fairly simple to treat if you deal with it immediately, though. Immediately put salt on the stain, then blot with club soda, then finish with a rinse of lukewarm water.

Blood/Coffee – Blood and coffee are removed in the same way. After blotting up the excess blot or spray with hydrogen peroxide then clean with a sponge and warm (dish)soapy water.

Gum – You can remove gum the same way that you can remove it from hair. Put ice on the gum long enough for it to become hard and semi-frozen, then peel it off.

Ketchup – Kids love ketchup and are messy, which is a bad combination for your carpet. Mix 1/2 a tablespoon of ammonia with 1/2 a cup of water and blot until gone. Finish up with a rinse of lukewarm water.

Wax – You can remove candle wax from your carpet by letting it dry, then placing a brown paper bag (like from a grocery store), and ironing the wax. If there is a lot of wax then you will have to repeat the process with fresh bags until the wax is removed.

If you are still having trouble with stains after trying these tips and tricks DealDash has a great spot and stain remover that’s made by Bissell, as well as a huge selection of vacuums made by various well-known brands.
