This is the perfect time to make pumpkin bread. Everything this month is pumpkin spice, from coffee to candles – why not bread? Pumpkin bread is very versatile, you can use it as an accompaniment to your soup at lunch, or you can spread a little vanilla frosting on it and it makes a wonderful dessert. Speaking of dessert, you can make this pumpkin bread in a muffin or cupcake tin and frost and decorate them as well.

Since you are probably carving your pumpkins around this time, I figured it was time for a roasted pumpkin seed recipe.

Roasted pumpkin seeds are absolutely delicious, a healthy snack, and fun to make. What’s not to love? You can roast your pumpkin seeds with a basic recipe like the one below, or you can always get creative and add ingredients such as cinnamon and sugar, cayenne pepper, oil and vinegar, cocoa…The varieties are  practically endless! It’s apple picking season here in New England, and what better use of apples than applesauce?

Now that I have two kids in school I have received a bounty of freshly picked apples – pretty much every kid in school around here goes to apple picking at a local farm for a field trip at this time of year.
