What’s your favorite meat to cook on the grill? There are so many choices, it’s hard to pick just one. Here are some meats that will be a surefire family favorite, from DealDash.

Summer is just around the corner and it is time to fire up the grill. During the summer most people have cookouts with their friends and family. It is a time to bond and enjoy some tasty food with your loved ones. There are a lot of foods that you can cook for a summer cookout, but the meats are the most important food to have. Here are DealDash‘s favorite meats to put on a grill.

Beef is the quintessential classic meat to put on a grill. You can make hamburger patties, which cook really fast on the grill.  Beef steaks are also a popular food to put on the grill. Ribeye steaks are usually the steaks that are used during a cookout. If you want to try other types of steaks, you can go to your local grocery store and look for skirt steaks or flat iron steaks. You can also ask the butcher for their recommendation.

Pork Chops

Pork chops are a traditional food to put on the grill. You can cook pork chops and even ham steaks taste delicious. Ham steaks are also fast to cook and can be heated in a few minutes on the grill. Pork ribs are also suited for the grill, but they need a longer time to cook and at a lower heat. Pork lovers will enjoy eating pork on the grill and praise your barbequing skills.

Chicken is tasty and easy to cook on your grill. Boneless chicken breast is a quick and easy chicken recipe to make. You can add seasoning and barbeque sauce to the chicken to make it more flavorful. Drumsticks can also be cooked on the grill, but it takes a longer time to cook. Chicken is an affordable food to grill. If you can catch a sale I have seen boneless chicken breast as low as $1.97 per pound!

Making It a “Steak” Out on DealDash

Most people love a nice, juicy steak. However, when you go to the meat department it can be a little confusing which cut to buy.

Grilling a delicious steak can be a lot of fun, and it always makes a wonderful dinner. However, just picking up whatever cut of meat is on sale and throwing it on the grill probably isn’t the best way to go if you are looking for optimum taste. A lot of cuts of steak look similar, but they are meant to be cooked in different ways. I’ll give you a quick primer below on what you should be thinking about before you make your meat purchase.

  •   Flat-Iron Steak – The flat-iron is flavorful, tender, and easy to cook. The flat-iron is recommended for people who are inexperienced or a little scared of messing up the steak on the grill. To cook, sear on the grill for about 4 minutes on each side.
  •   Top Sirloin – The top sirloin is a very popular cut of meat. If you’re looking for the tastiest part of the top sirloin, go for the top sirloin cap. To cook, sear on the grill for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side.
  •   Flank Steak – The flank steak is a large cut of lean meat. Make sure you cut off the silver skin before cooking. To cook, make sure your grill is extremely hot and sear it quickly on both sides.
  •   Round Steak – The round is made up of the top round, bottom round, eye round, and the sirloin tip. All of these cuts of meat are made differently for various recipes. Many of them make good roast beef—specifically, the sirloin tip and bottom round. London broil is typically made with top round. To cook the London broil simply sear it for about 5 minutes on each side.
  •   Filet Mignon – The filet is extremely tender and usually the most sought after steak out of all of the cuts that I have mentioned. To cook give it a quick sear on both sides, then let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
