DealDash Helps You Make a Good Impression

DealDash

They say you never get a second chance to make a first impression. Let DealDash help you make a great first impression.

Everyone needs to make a good first impression sometimes. Perhaps you’re on your way to a job interview, or maybe even a first date. Perhaps you’re further along and are planning on meeting your boyfriend or girlfriend’s parents. No matter what the situation, it’s always best to put your best first impression to the forefront and let your personality shine. Next up are some tips and tricks from DealDash to help you do just that.

Dress the Part

Firstly, it doesn’t matter which first impression situation that we are talking about, it’s always important to arrive clean and well-dressed. That doesn’t mean a ball gown or tuxedo, of course, but something neat, clean, and presentable.

Thus, in the case of a job interview, it’s said that the optimal way to dress for your interview is “one step above” what you would normally be wearing if you got the job. So, if the job calls for “business casual” such as a polo shirt and khaki pants, then you would want to wear a shirt and tie with a jacket. Of course, your results might vary, but it’s always wise to err on the side of more nicely dressed.

Put Yourself in Their Shoes

Next, making a good first impression is all about putting yourself in the other person’s shoes – how would you like to be treated if you were them. Thus, if you are meeting a serious boyfriend or girlfriend’s family for the first time at their home you might want to bring them a small gift such as a bottle of wine or some flowers. It will make them feel good and have a better opinion of you since you were putting yourself in their shoes and putting a lot of thought into the evening.

Don’t Skimp on Sleep

Finally, no matter what the situation calls for in making a good first impression, you need to be well-rested. Don’t skip the sleep if you have an important day the next day and plan on meeting new people. You’ll be on your “A” game if you get enough sleep and are well-rested. You’ll be more mentally alert and be able to think on your feet and remember things better as well. There’s no downside to getting enough rest.

DealDash – Getting Along with Difficult People

DealDash difficult people

Getting along with difficult people can be a little stressful. Here are some tips and ideas from DealDash to make things go more smoothly.

Do you live or work with someone who has a difficult personality? It can be hard to get along with someone who has a very different personality or beliefs from you, but you should try. Give this person a chance, and do your best to get along with them. Here are some ideas from DealDash for getting along with difficult people.

Find Some Common Ground

Getting along with a difficult person can be made a little bit easier if you can find something in common with them. It doesn’t have to be something huge and life-changing. Just discovering that you both have a love of coffee or a TV show could be enough to give you fodder for future conversations. No matter how different two people are, there’s an excellent chance that they can find at least one thing in common.

You Do You

What I mean by “you do you” is your thoughts and actions are controlled by you. Just because someone is a little snarky or rude to you doesn’t mean that you have to match their bad attitude. You can simply ignore it and act like they are speaking politely, or you can go overboard with friendliness and it might change their attitude.

Maybe It’s Not Just Them

If you take a close look at your attitude and demeanor when you are interacting with this person, is it possible you could be part of the problem? If you have had bad interactions in the past with this person, perhaps you are being unintentionally rude to them in the present tense. Even if you don’t like this person, try to do your best to be friendly to them. Remember, most bad relationships aren’t usually 100% just one person’s fault.

Look On the Bright Side

Even the most unpleasant person most likely has a couple of good traits within them. Trying to see the positive in any person may help to improve your interactions with them. It might take some time to figure out what their positive traits are, but they are probably there. Perhaps they are a great parent, a hard worker, or intelligent. Take a little time to think about it, and I bet you’ll be able to find at least one thing about this person that you admire.

DealDash Helps: Improve Your People Skills

DealDash People

People skills are important to have, especially if you work with the public. Here are some tips from DealDash to improve your people skills.

People skills are known to be the ability to listen, communicate, and relate to other people. This can be on either a personal or professional level. Having these skills is important because they can help you form friendships and professional relationships as well. Not everyone is at the top of their game when it comes to people skills, though, so here are some helpful tips and ideas from DealDash to up your game.

Communication Skills

A very important part of having people skills is being about to communicate effectively. When speaking to others you need to be cautious about how your tone comes across as well as your choice of words. Many friendships and professional relationships are over before they even began because of bad communication. It’s best to err on the side of caution whenever you find yourself meeting new people. Be friendly and polite, and try to communicate clearly to avoid any misconceptions.

Be Flexible

Another part of having great people skills is to be flexible. No one is perfect and in personal and business dealings plans can sometimes change. Instead of getting frustrated and upset when these things happen try to go with the flow. Being flexible is an important part of being the type of person that others want to be around. Being flexible can be good for your health as well – there’s less stress on you if you’re able to “go with it” when things change.

Be Patient

Patience is an excellent skill to cultivate when you are working on your people skills. When you’re patient and spend time trying to figure out others problems and needs then you are well on your way to becoming a “people person.” If a friend or colleague is having a problem or a bad day, try to show support when they are confused and frustrated. They will thank you for it and will think that you have excellent people skills.

DealDash Helps: Be the Best You

DealDash Be Best You

We should all try to be our best selves, but sometimes we need a little help. DealDash is here with helpful tips.

Moving towards being your best self begins with loving and accepting yourself how you are at this particular moment. Everyone has a little room for improvement, but you should love yourself regardless if you have met your personal goals yet or not. Being the best “you” that you can be doesn’t mean that you have to be perfect. Embrace your small imperfections and strive for your goals. DealDash has tips for changing your outlook.

Stop Holding Yourself Back

If you think about your life, the main thing that might be holding you back is self-doubt. Get rid of the negative thinking, and instead think of small ways that you can improve yourself. For instance, if you are striving to run in a marathon, you aren’t going to be able to do that without training. Make a list of increasingly harder goals that lead up to being able to run the 26.2 miles that you ultimately want to achieve.

Stop Putting Things Off

Procrastination can be a major roadblock on the road to self-improvement. If you feel that you’ve set your goals a little too high for yourself don’t put things off until you eventually just give up! Break those goals down into smaller goals and work on them a little at a time. Wouldn’t you rather be 10% of the way to your goal than nothing? Stop the procrastination and get moving towards a better self.

Don’t Be a “Yes Man (or Woman)”

Are you the type of person to automatically respond “YES” to any favor or request that people make? If so, you might be sabotaging your own goals by spending your time and energy on everyone else and having nothing left for yourself. It’s a wonderful thing to help other people and be available for them, but you need to be sure that you aren’t spreading yourself too thin. Instead of immediately replying “yes” to other people’s requests, just tell them that you’ll think about it and let them know later.

Instead of immediately replying “yes” to other people’s requests, just tell them that you’ll think about it and let them know later. Give their request some thought, and reply to them within 24-48 hours. Saying yes is great, but it’s okay to say “no” sometimes as well.

DealDash Helps: Take Care of Seniors

In other cultures family tends to take care of their senior citizens. However, in America that’s not always the case. How can we help?

One of the most prevalent problems that senior citizens  can face is loneliness and isolation. There are lots of ways that you can help your senior citizen friends that you know personally. One great way that you can help them is to offer transportation. Many of our older friends can’t (or won’t) drive anymore. If you and your family are going out for a quick trip to the grocery store, coffee shop, or local big box store why not invite them along? They would surely appreciate the outing as well as the company.

Another way that we can help our senior citizens out is to encourage them to participate in clubs, hobbies, or even church. Sometimes all a lonely senior citizen needs to get out and about is a little gentle encouragement. And as an added bonus, the senior citizen in question might even make a new friend or two in the process.

If you know a senior citizen that is isolated geographically from family perhaps you could help them learn how to use some of our modern technology such as email, texting, and Skype or Facetime. Some seniors don’t have access to home WiFi or computers, so if you were so inclined you could show them how to use these things at the library, where there is always free access to computers and the internet. If the senior citizen that you know has a little extra money to spare, how about showing them how to bid on DealDash? DealDash would definitely put some fun and excitement into their lives as well as saving them some money on the essentials.

Lastly, how about inviting a senior citizen to your home to have dinner with your family? I’m sure that the senior would enjoy spending time with your family as well as the home-cooked meal. If the senior citizen you know is more of a homebody how about bringing a meal to them? If you are making a recipe at home for your family that is easy to double or even triple such as pasta, chili, or a stew you could easily put the excess into containers and bring it to your favorite senior. That way they could re-heat it whenever they feel hungry.

Today we discussed how to help your local senior citizen, and there were quite a few different things that were mentioned that you could procure on DealDash to help them. If you are in need of a new computer you could always get one on DealDash and give the senior you older model. That way you both win! Simply click this link right here and it will take you to the Electronics and Computers category on DealDash and you can see how much you can save! Good luck and happy bidding everyone!
