DealDash Holidays: Host a Family Sleepover

Getting to know the smaller members of your extended family is important! Hosting a niece and nephew sleepover is a fun way to accomplish this. Here are some tips from DealDash to get you started.

One of my favorite holiday traditions is to have a sleepover with all of the children in our family. Fortunately, our house is large enough that we can bring all of the little cousins (my 3 children, nieces, and nephews) together for a little holiday fun. It can be difficult to come up with new ideas though. Below is a list of some of our favorites, from DealDash.

Christmas and Seasonal Crafts

We’ve made it a family tradition to start with some sort of Christmas and/or seasonal crafts. The specific project may change every year, but our family loves seeing the decorations or the Christmas cards that are hand made from each of our children. Some years, our Christmas project includes baking cookies. And as my husband likes to say, “Why choose?”.

Holiday Movies are a Hit

Christmas videos are also popular in our family. Some families rotate movies to ensure that things don’t get “stale”. My spouse’s family has one movie that has become a Christmas tradition. There’s nothing wrong with either option. Personally, my favorite Christmas movie is Elf, and my kids prefer Home Alone. Whatever your favorite seasonal movie is, it’s always better with popcorn! Just make sure that you check with all of the parents first – some kids are not advised to eat popcorn if they have braces.

White Elephant/Secret Santa

If you’ve never heard of it, look up the idea of a “white elephant” gift exchange. We’ve tried having families go out and let the kids pick gifts. We’ve also had years where I purchase a group of gifts and let the kids select from them. It’s an interesting idea and can be even more comical with kids. Traditionally the white elephant exchange is just silly presents. If you think that the kids would prefer more useful things you can always ask the parents to bring a fun gift that is worth around $5 to $10.

Have Extra Bedding – From DealDash

Finally, if you are planning on hosting a family sleepover, then you will need to have lots of extra bedding and towels on hand. If you plan on making this an annual tradition, then you might also want to pick up an extra air bed as well. Don’t despair, DealDash has all of these bedding and bath items – and plenty more! Thanks for Reading

My husband and I both have fond memories of cousin sleepovers as kids, and we are hoping to extend the tradition to our kids and their cousins. It can be a bit of work to keep everyone entertained, but the more you plan ahead, the better time everyone will have. Thanks so much for reading this DealDash article on hosting a family sleepover.

Winter fatigue can really ruin your day. However, DealDash is here to give you some tips on how to combat winter fatigue. Read on for more information.

With the cold weather of winter approaching quickly many people are going to be dealing with more fatigue than they usually do. Cold weather and a lack of sunlight can really make a person feel more tired than they care to be. Here are some simple ways to beat winter fatigue this year from your friends at DealDash Reviewed.

Try an Aromatherapy Diffuser

Aromatherapy can be very useful for getting rid of fatigue in the winter time. Many professionals in aromatherapy state that scents like anything citrus or peppermint can be very uplifting when you are feeling tired. You can, of course, use any scent that gives you some extra energy. Many people find the scent of coffee uplifting for example. You will want to avoid the scent of lavender, however, because this is a scent known to make people feel sleepy.

Stay Hydrated

You should never underestimate the power of water in the wintertime. Many people don’t drink as much water in the winter as they do in the summer. In return, they become dehydrated which can cause fatigue. So make sure you are consuming enough water when the weather turns cold as your level of fatigue often depends on it. Also, if you find yourself with a nagging headache in the winter, this can also be due to dehydration. Stay hydrated this winter. You’ll be glad that you did.

Have a Good Attitude

Something as simple as learning to laugh more can make you feel less tired. Some other things that you can do to beat fatigue in the winter include avoiding people that seem to sap your energy and instead stay in the company of cheerful and upbeat people.

Developing an exercise routine that you are able to stick to doing can help beat your winter fatigue and improve your attitude. Also, don’t forget to take your daily multi-vitamin. All of these can keep your energy levels up so you will not have to worry about fatigue.

DealDash Helps You Sleep Better

DealDash Helps you sleep better

Do you have trouble sleeping? There are a few things that you can do to get more sleep at night. Let DealDash help.

Let’s face it, we all probably don’t get enough sleep at night. Maybe you have a hard time getting asleep, or staying asleep. Maybe you toss and turn and are restless at night. No matter what your sleep issue is, DealDash has some ideas to help you get more rest so you can have better days.

Have a Sleepy Routine

When you’re trying to get your small child used to sleeping at night, they say that having a sleep routine makes things easier. Well, it helps adults to have a sleep routine as well. It doesn’t matter what your routine is, as long as you do it faithfully every night. A sample routine could be:

  • Take a shower
  • Brush your teeth
  • Put on your facial night time moisturizer
  • Read 1 chapter of a book

That’s just an example, maybe you take a shower in the morning, so you just wash your face at night. Whatever works for you, as long as you do it faithfully every night.

Is Your Bed Comfy?

A comfortable bed is another key to successful sleeping. If your mattress is older than 10 years, you might want to think about investing in a new one. If you have a newer mattress, great! Are you using comfortable pillows? How about your bedding? Is it soft, clean, and comfortable? If you need new pillows, sheets, and blankets, DealDash can help you out with that! DealDash offers numerous different pillows and comforters up for auction quite often. If sheets are what you’re needing, even better. DealDash offers sheets up for auction pretty much every day.

Let Your Mind Relax

If you’re stressed out it’s going to be very difficult for you to sleep well. How can you let your mind relax? Try listening to some nice, calming music before bed. Other people find that writing in a journal helps to clear the mind of stressful things before sleeping. If all of that fails, try talking to a friend or family member before bed to help you relax and de-stress. Whatever helps calm your mind is what you should do – no matter how weird it might sound.

Try These Before Bed Routines From DealDash

DealDash Bedtime

By this point in your life you have probably settled in with a bedtime routine. Try to incorporate these ideas from DealDash to make bedtime even better.

It’s said that it takes a minimum of 21 days to form a new habit, so consistency is a key factor in adding or removing things to your bedtime routine. What you add or remove from your current routine is up to you, but give these ideas from DealDash a try.

Skin Care

Washing and moisturizing your face is a must. If you aren’t currently doing these two things before bed you should start as soon as possible. Washing your face can be a bit of a chore sometimes, so feel free to use make-up wipes to cleanse your skin if you prefer. There is also a product called micellar water that is used by putting it on a cotton ball to cleanse the skin, no water needed. After cleansing, be sure to put on a moisturizer, especially in the winter.

Turn Off the Screens

Try to get all of your DealDash bidding in before bedtime. Turn off your phone, computer, and tablet an hour before you go to sleep. The light emitted from the screen promotes wakefulness. Not only that, but the content can sometimes keep you awake longer than planned and interfere with bedtime.

If you would like to do an activity before bed to help you relax try reading a novel, puzzle books, magazines, knitting, or listening to music.

Think About Your Day

Before you drift off to sleep, give some thought to your day. What was great, what could have been better? How can you make tomorrow into a great day? Is there anything that happened today that you’d like to correct tomorrow? What do you have to look forward to the following day or the rest of the week?

Give Thanks

Whether you’re the sort of person who likes to pray, meditate, or both, giving thanks is an excellent way to end the day. Think about the positives in your life, your loved ones, and your friends. No matter what’s going on in your life, there’s a pretty good chance that it could be worse, so give thanks that it’s not!

Thinking about all of the things that you are thankful for at the end of the day can promote happiness. It can also promote good dreams, restfulness, and peaceful sleep. Just think, maybe the next night one of the items on your “thankful list” might be “I had a great night of sleep last night!”
