Gardening and home improvement stores are on the “essential” stores list (at least in my state), so they are still open to fulfill your orders. You can order your seeds, soil, and other gardening essentials and pick them up curbside from most large stores. Also, you can order seeds from many online retailers for home delivery as well. You won’t even need to step out of the house to get your garden started! Well, until you receive your supplies, that is!

Next, in case you didn’t store your tools properly for winter, give your them some attention so they’re in fine condition when it is time get started. Bypass pruners need a good sharpening. Not all tools can survive the winter if they haven’t been stored properly, and this is where DealDash can help. To see items that will interest a gardener, be sure to visit the Home, Garden, and Tools category, located at this link here.

DealDash’s Skincare Suggestions

DealDash

Being stuck in the house can have it’s positives – a little more time for self-care! Here are some skincare suggestions from DealDash.

I know it’s hard to be stuck in the house, but try and look on the bright side. You have a little extra time in the day that you can use for self-care. Your skin is probably dull from the winter weather. Get your skin dewy and glowing with these suggestions from DealDash.

Rejuvenate and Exfoliate With Help From DealDash

Your skin is most likely still dry and dull from the winter weather. It’s not a problem, you just need to exfoliate that dead skin away. You can do this with a facial brush, exfoliator, or even sonic facial tool. Don’t use one of those crushed apricot seed cleaners, they can cause damage to delicate skin. Instead, use a sonic face cleanser with a non-exfoliating gentle face wash.

A sonic face cleanser can easily rid you of dry and dull skin on your face or body. DealDash carries sonic face cleansers and often has them up for auction. You can find them alone or in a bundle package. You need a get a sonic facial brush and fix your dull winter skin. Be sure to click right here and check out the auctions on DealDash.

Use a Lighter Moisturizer

In the winter, many people use a heavier moisturizer. We are past the harsh winter weather, it’s time to use a lighter moisturizer. When you use a heavier moisturizer than your skin needs it can clog pores and make your skin not look its best. There’s no need for a heavy night cream in the spring and summer unless you have extremely dry skin. Using a lighter moisturizer can help your skin look dewy and radiant in the spring and summer.

Don’t Forget Your SPF if You Leave Home

Most of us are staying inside due to social distancing, but having to leave the house to get food is inevitable. When you step outside, be sure to apply at least a 30 SPF before you leave the house. You might already be wearing a daytime moisturizer that includes SPF. Check to see what the SPF rating is, and be sure that it’s at least 30. If it is lower, then put on a separate SPF before you go out.

DealDash’s Tips to Get Your Grill Ready for BBQing

BBQ weather is coming and I’m excited! If you need some tips on how to prepare your grill for the season, DealDash has you covered.

One of my favorite parts about warm weather is that it makes cooking so much easier. Sure, you can grill year-round, but I hate clearing the snow off of my deck so that I can start the grill. It’s important to make sure that you take care of the grill before you start cooking. Follow these suggestions from DealDash and get your grill ready in no time flat!

Stock Up on Grilling Essentials

Whether you have a charcoal grill or a gas grill, make sure you’re stocked up for the season. I typically use gas and there’s nothing worse than heating up the grill and coming out to find that nothing was heating because you didn’t have any gas.

Additionally, make sure that you’ve got all of your supplies in order. I like to keep a stock of aluminum foil and olive oil on hand. It makes things much easier to clean when you use aluminum foil.

Grates and Covers

I like to take all of the grates and covers out and do a deep soak. It would be smart to do this in the fall too, but I sometimes forget. So, I deep clean everything about a week before I’m ready to start grilling again. Typically, I just use soap and water. You’ll be amazed at how much grease those grates accumulate over one season of grilling.

Have Your Tools Handy and Ready to Go

It’s also important to have the right cooking tools. Be sure that you have a good spatula and tongs so that you can handle anything that you’re cooking. I’d also recommend a grill brush and a spray bottle filled with water. It seems a bit odd, but I typically spray the grill down while it’s still hot, then use the brush to clean everything off. I end by using the scarper portion. Be sure to clean the grill thoroughly: it’s possible to have a wire from the brush stick to the grate. It can then get in your food and cause all sorts of issues.

You needn’t go to the hardware store, spend lots of money, and then have to lug a new grill home yourself; DealDash has grills up for bid! It doesn’t matter if you prefer gas or charcoal – DealDash has them both! You will also find grilling toolsets and even packs of meat! Just click here to check them out.

DealDash’s To Do List Before You Go on Spring Break

DealDash

Spring Break is coming quickly. If you’re planning to take any sort of vacation, it’s important that you get things ready. DealDash can help.

Spring break is coming, and if you are going on a trip there are things you need to do now to prepare. Read this article from DealDash, make a checklist, and be prepared!

Don’t Forget Your Pets

Many people wait until the last minute to think of their pets when considering a vacation. Come up with a plan for how your pet is going to be taken care of. There are plenty of pet-friendly hotels if that’s the way you’d like to go. If not, look for a local pet sitter or kennel that can help. There are even some pet-hotels that function as a bed and breakfast for people and a kennel for dogs. It ensures your pet will get some socialization while you’re gone.

Make Sure Your House is Prepared

Make sure your house is taken care of while you’re gone. Do you need to set up the sprinkler system? Maybe you can have a neighbor come over to water your garden instead. You may also want to consider the mail if you’re going to be gone for a week or so. If you don’t have a neighbor that can help you out, you can call the post office to tell them to hold your mail while you’re gone.

Another key preparation that I like to make is setting an automation schedule inside the house. With today’s technology, I like to set my thermostat in cycles. I turn the heat/ac on so that at night it can be a bit cooler and during the day, it’s typically a bit warmer. If you’d rather just turn your thermostat down while you’re gone, that’s fine as well. In the same thought, we have automated lights. I set a schedule so that the lights turn on and off by themselves. It seems a bit crazy, but it offers us some peace of mind knowing that it’s a little less obvious that we’re gone. Think of the movie Home Alone!

Finally, make a list (or start packing) everything that you’ll need. It’s easy to forget if you don’t plan ahead. Make sure that list includes everything your pets will need whether they’re going with you or going to a kennel.

DealDash Spring Cleaning Series: The Bathroom

DealDash

Spring is almost here. Get started on your spring cleaning with DealDash’s newest cleaning series.

Our next installment of the Spring Cleaning series is looking at your bathroom. It’s probably one of the rooms that gets a ton of attention, so it’s likely to need the most help. This is a reminder of some of the deep cleaning that could make your bathroom shine again. Read on for some really excellent cleaning suggestions.

Fresh Linens

Start by going through your linens. No one likes a towel that’s been around for a decade. It thins out and isn’t soft anymore. Let’s be honest- do you feel as clean when you use an old, worn-out towel or washcloth? Take a minute to find the linen you don’t want to use and repurpose it, donate it, or throw it away. You can always use these as cleaning cloths, stick a few in your car just in case you need them, or use them as packing material when you mail something fragile.

Get New Linens on DealDash

When you’re done cleaning the bathroom it’s time to get a few new things to brighten up the space. There are lots of items that you can get on DealDash that will make your bathroom look clean and cheery. Click here to see the choices. Don’t forget to replace the linens that you got rid of earlier. Check out the Home, Garden, and Tools category for all of the choices available to you.

Clean Out the Medicine Cabinet

Next, look in your cabinet. There’s a good chance that there’s some medication in there that you don’t need anymore. Maybe it’s expired, maybe it was never effective, or maybe you hated the taste of it so much that you’re just not going to use it. Either way, make some extra space and throw your medication away. Be sure to check the dates and get rid of anything that is close to its expiration date.

Don’t Forget the Fan

We all forget about the bathroom fan when we’re cleaning. You may take the time to clean the outside, but when is the last time you took the cover off to make sure that the motor wasn’t completely clogged with dust and debris? Take a few minutes to clean the interior with a wet cloth. It’ll make things run smoother (and possibly more quietly).

Make Your Mirror Sparkle

It’s probably a good idea to do a deep clean on your mirrors. Over time, we don’t even realize there are smudges, but they’re hiding in plain view. Take a few minutes to clean with a lint-free cloth. If you don’t want to pay for a high-end glass cleaner, you can make one with vinegar and water.
