DealDash Helps You Be More Outgoing

As I have gotten older it seems that I run into more and more people that are shy. That’s fine if you are happy, but if you would like to be more outgoing let DealDash help.

Many people have mentioned to me that they would like to make YouTube videos like I do, or they would like to make presentations or teach a class, but they are too shy to do these things. They have often asked me how they can get over their shyness and become more outgoing. Here are some ideas from DealDash.

Dress Confidently

It seems that many people who are shy tend to dress very plainly to blend in. If you were to look into their closet you would see a lot of black, beige, and gray. If these are the colors that you prefer to wear that’s fine but try to spice up your wardrobe with some pops of color. Try a pretty scarf, belt, or more colorful pair of shoes for the ladies, and a brighter tie or shirt for the men.

Posture is Important

If you’re not outgoing or extroverted you might slouch a little to make yourself less conspicuous, and might not meet people’s gaze. Try to correct that. Stand up straight, try to align your ears with your shoulders. It will do your back a favor along with your confidence. When you walk into a room make sure that you look people in the eye when you say hello, and keep those shoulders back.

Speak Up!

To gain people’s attention, be sure to speak up. Don’t mutter or look at the floor when you’re speaking. You don’t need to overdo it and yell, of course, but speak in a medium tone, and try not to let people interrupt you. If you are accustomed to people talking over you when you are trying to speak, try to be a bit more forceful and say “Excuse, me, I would like to finish my thought first.” or “Excuse me, I’m not done speaking yet.”

Speak to Strangers

Speaking to strangers goes against everything that we were taught as children, but to be more outgoing you’re going to have to do it. Start small, chat with the person you’re standing next to in the line at the store. Next, chat with the cashier, then say hello to the person next to you at the bus stop. The opportunities to make small talk with strangers are endless.
