Baby Oil – Not Just for Babies, DealDash

DealDash

There are a surprising amount of uses for baby oil that don’t involve babies. Here are a few from DealDash.

Baby oil is a simple formula – it’s approximately 98% mineral oil and 2% fragrance. So basically, baby oil is a lightly scented mineral oil combination. Mineral oil is good for the skin, it won’t clog your pores because it sits on top of your skin and creates a protective barrier for your skin. It also will help your skin keep its moisture in the winter. The only time when mineral oil isn’t good for your skin is if you attempt to use it as a tanning agent by rubbing it on your skin and sitting in the sun. This is dangerous and I don’t advise it. There are many more uses for baby oil, here are some from DealDash.

Use as a Massage Oil

There’s no need to buy expensive massage oils when you have some baby oil on hand. Baby oil is around $2-$4, and massage oils start at $10 and go up in price from there, so baby oil is the clear choice if you’re massaging on a budget. If you love massages, have you seen the neck and foot massagers that are offered on DealDash? There are also massage chairs available as well.

Gum in Your Hair? No Problem!

If you or your child has the bad luck to have gum in your hair, it’s not a problem. Baby oil can fix that problem for you. Simply take some baby oil in your hands and apply it to the gum in your hair. Work it around, and add more baby oil if needed. The gum should come out with little difficulty.

Eye Makeup Remover

Oils are great for removing eye makeup, even the waterproof type. Personally, I prefer coconut oil to remove eye makeup because I like the smell. However, believe it or not, some people don’t like the smell of coconut. If you’re one of those people, then maybe baby oil is your eye makeup removal solution. Just put some on a cotton ball or cotton round, and gently rub off all of the eye makeup. After it’s gone, follow up with a second cotton ball or cotton round to get off the remainder.

Temporary Tattoo Remover

I’m guessing that most of the people who are reading this blog are past the temporary tattoo stage, but if you have a child or grandchild who likes them, then read on. Baby oil is excellent for removing a temporary tattoo. Just get a cotton ball, apply the baby oil, and let it sit on the tattoo for a minute or two. It should come off without too much scrubbing.
