DealDash: Busy? Here’s What to Do in the AM
Busy? Here are things you should be doing in the morning. They will make your day better. Read on for more information from DealDash.
Are you more of a morning person or a night owl? I’m definitely a night owl, but since I have little kids that I have to get on the bus in the morning I’m forced to do more in the morning than I prefer. I have compiled a list of suggestions for things that you should be doing in the morning. Find out more, from DealDash and enjoy your day more.
Get Up Extra Early
This might sound counter-intuitive to people who don’t like to get up in the morning but hear me out. If you get up extra early it gives you time to get your morning started slowly instead of having to rush, rush, rush. I have to have my kids out at the bus stop a little before 8AM. I could get up at 8:15 (and have, oops) but that involves me rushing the kids around, making sloppy lunches, tossing some GoGurts at them, and shooing them out the door. However, if I get up just a half-hour earlier at 7:45 things go much more smoothly and calmly. Having a calm morning instead of having to rush everyone makes that extra half-hour worth it.
Do Prep the Night Before
Even better than doing things in the morning, of course, is doing them the previous night! I like to get a lot of the prep done the night before, such as making most of the kid’s lunches. I put in the bottle of water, chips/pretzels/crackers, and a package of fruit snacks the night before and leave the lunch bags out on the counter. Then the next morning I just have to make their sandwiches and toss in a cheese stick in the morning. Making the bulk of the lunches the night before saves time and mental energy in the morning.

In addition to getting the lunches ready, I also like to lay out my daughter’s clothing for her. My older son is 9.5 so he can pick his own clothing out, but my 5-year-old daughter needs a little help. She also can’t reach her clothing items that are on the rack in her closet, so until she is a little taller I’ll be doing this chore in the evening before bed.
Get to Bed Early
Finally, another thing that will make your morning go better is getting more sleep. Try to get to bed 30-60 minutes before you normally do, and see if it make a difference for you.
