2) Find a pet-friendly café with outdoor seating. Your dog will love the company and you’ll enjoy a nice place to eat without feeling like you’re eating in a kennel.
3) Play fetch in an open field. This is great for their mental health, giving them something to do besides barking at the neighbor’s cat! Pick up some tennis balls from the pet store on your way home from work, and surprise your dog with a trip to the field for some fetch.
It’s hot for Your Furry Friend
Keeping your dog cool in the dog days of summer is important, too. Get a big bowl and fill it with ice, then add water. Put your pup’s favorite toy in the center of the bowl and they’ll have fun playing for hours! Additionally, find a shady spot where there is grass, or lay down an old towel on cool pavement to provide relief from hot surfaces. Provide lots of fresh drinking water at these locations too. Watch the temperature, if you think it’s too hot out, so does your pet!
