DealDash Folds Tricky Laundry Pieces

DealDash

Folding laundry isn’t fun, but we all have to do it. Here are some tips on folding laundry the right way, from DealDash.

You have just washed your clothes and dried them, and now it is time to get to the next part which is folding the laundry. Folding laundry is a chore that most people do not look forward to. It can take some time out of your day. Luckily, there are 3 methods that you can use to help you fold laundry quickly and easily, even if they are tricky items. Read on for more from DealDash.

Folding Socks

Folding socks may seem simple, but did you know that folding socks one inside of the other will ruin the elastic band of your sock? It is not that fact that you wash your socks a lot that destroys them; it is how you fold them. So how should you fold your socks? Simple! Put the socks on top of each other and fold them into a square. To make it easier; you can fold the sock into a plus sign and fold it into a square. Folding your socks into a square will prevent elastic damage.

You will also have more room in your drawer if you fold them flat and “file” them in the drawer rather than balling them up and tossing them in. This is especially handy for kid’s socks that have designs on them. You will be able to see what design is on them much easier if you fold them flat.

Folding Pants

The easiest way to fold pants is not to fold them but instead to use a hanger! Before you hang the pants, you should make sure that the internal stitches of your pants are identical to the other side. After you make sure the inner stitches are equal you simply put one-half of your pants on one side and the other half on the other side of the hanger. This method will prevent your pants from becoming wrinkled. You can get specialized pants hangers that can hold 4-6 pairs of pants at a time, thereby saving space in your closet.

Folding a Fitted Sheet

Fitted sheets can be difficult to fold when they are done drying because they have no corners. Although they have no corners, it is not impossible to fold them. All you need to do is ignore the rubbery part and create the corners of the fitted sheet yourself. Then fold the fitted sheet into a square. I must confess, I hadn’t ever properly folded a fitted sheet until I was married and my husband (the tidier one of us!) showed me how. Before this, I was hiding the fitted sheet inside the flat sheet and folding them both together.
