The summer is a great time to get things done for your home. Here are some ideas and tips from DealDash.

Everyone loves the summertime. The sun is shining, and you can do a lot of things that you cannot do during the winter.  One of the best things to do is to take care of your house during the summer. There are so many things that you can do for your house in the summertime. Just like spring is for spring cleaning you can also do some summer cleaning, and planting. Here are 3 things that you need to do for your house in the summer, from DealDash.

Gardening

Gardening is a great thing to do during the summer at your house. You can get some mulch and flowers and begin to decorate your front or backyard.  There are a lot of plants that are in season during the summertime, so you have plenty of options to choose from. Remember to maintain your garden by feeding them and watering your plants.

In addition to planting, you can re-fill the mulch around your home that was washed away or deteriorated during the Winter and Spring. Personally, we bought the bags of rubber mulch. It doesn’t disintegrate or attract bugs. We still need to put a couple of bags down each summer from the pieces that got washed away, but it’s significantly less than the 5+ bags we were putting down before.

Wash your Windows

Keeping your windows clean is important during the summer. Now that the summer is here you have to keep your windows clear of dust, dirt, and bird droppings. You can use cleaners such as Windex or simply use soap and water. It is best to clean your windows weekly, inside and out. 

Prepare Your House for the Heat

The best thing that you can do is to prepare your house for the heat.  The summer heat can be toxic, and you need to stay warm. You should check your AC to make sure that it is up to date, and that there is no leakage in the vents. If you have ceiling fans, you need to have them running at all times to keep the air circulating.
