Being your own best friend is important. Here are some tips and tricks to accomplish that, from DealDash.

You might have many different people that you can count on in your family and circle of friends. However, they can’t be with you 100% of the time, so it’s good to learn how to be your own best friend. Here are some tips from dealDash to do just that. Read on for more information.

Let Go of Worry, Face Your Problems

If you’re a nervous sort of person who is frequently worried about different things – let go of that! Face your problems right away, and you’ll have much less to worry about. I know that facing your problems can be difficult, but don’t you think it would be worth it to not have to worry anymore about so many different things?

Treat Yourself

I am a huge proponent of treating myself. Whether it’s having an ice cream, buying myself a new purse, or taking myself out for a coffee – I do it. It’s great for your self-esteem to realize that you’re worth treating yourself to the little extras. You’re worth it, I’m worth it, let’s treat ourselves. It doesn’t always have to be a physical treat, either, it could be taking yourself to the movies, or going for a nice long walk.

Stop Agreeing!

Many of us are people-pleasers. That’s not necessarily a bad thing as long as no one takes advantage of you. However, there are always going to be a few people here and there in your life that are going to try and take advantage of your giving nature. This is the right time to stand up for yourself and stop agreeing with whatever the person wants you to do. It could be just about anything, but if you feel like someone is taking advantage of you, just say no.

Spend Lots of Quality Time…With Yourself

Being your own best friend means that you’re comfortable spending time alone. That sometimes makes a lot of people feel uncomfortable, but I think it’s wonderful! I love going to the movies or dinner by myself. I don’t ever think of it as lonely or embarrassing, I think of it as taking a mental break from the rest of the world. If that’s not your thing, that’s fine, too. Spend some quality time by yourself at home, reading a book, taking a long bath, or whatever you like to do.
