DealDash Beauty: Blow Dry Without Damage

DealDash

Blow drying your hair can make it shiny and beautiful, however, it can damage your hair. Here are some tips from DealDash to keep it healthy.

Blow drying your hair is almost a must for the winter time, but many people blow dry their hair in the summer as well. Unfortunately, you can end up dried out frizzy hair, or with split ends. There are a few things that you can do to lessen the damage of blow drying your hair. Read on for more information from DealDash.

Get a Good Quality Hair Dryer

You’ll want to be sure to get a hair dryer that is of good quality. You don’t want a hair dryer that doesn’t have different settings – make sure that it has both warm and hot, and if it has a cool setting, even better. If you have thick hair then you’ll want to start out on a high-heat setting. If your hair is thin or fine you’ll be better to use the warm setting instead.

Use a Heat Protectant

Most people know to use a heat protectant when they are using a flat iron, but it can also be helpful when you are blow drying your hair as well. You can get a heat protectant for your hair at any big box store or pharmacy, and even at the supermarket! There’s no reason why you shouldn’t be using a heat protectant, it will make your hair so much healthier. Try to find a product that contains silicone, which is great at protecting hair.

Don’t Do it too Often

It really isn’t healthy for your hair to wash it every day, and especially not healthy to blow dry it every day. If you get your hair dirty by exercising or another reason, of course you can wash it, but if you just washed it the previous day and it still seems clean, then skip a day. The fewer times per week that you wash and blow dry your hair the healthier it will be.

Use a Deep Conditioner

If you’re blow drying your hair on a regular basis, then you are going to sustain a small amount of damage no matter how careful you are. This is why it makes good sense to use a deep conditioner. There are many choices available at your local big box store. They are typically sold in a “jar” type container rather than a bottle container. Try to choose one that has a very thick texture. Use the deep conditioner once or twice per week. Your hair will be looking great in no time!
