DealDash: Ready for School – Easier Homework Time

DealDash

Summer vacation is coming quickly to an end. Time to start thinking about school and homework, with DealDash.

Let’s face it no one really likes homework. In fact, many kids struggle with home work and getting it done so that they can hand in their assignments on time at school. Now that the first day of school is coming up soon you’ll want to start thinking about homework. Here are a few things that you can do as a parent to help make homework go a little easier for your child, with a little help from DealDash.

Ask the Teacher for Help

You can talk to your child’s teacher. Let them know if your child is having difficulty with homework and check on how they are doing in school. They might have been too shy to ask the teacher for extra help. You just may find that the teacher recommends things like getting a tutor or getting some extra help in school so that they will understand their homework better.

Let Them Take Breaks

If your child has a lot of homework you need to make sure that you allow them to take breaks. A 10-15 minute break after each homework subject is sufficient. You also want to teach them what an appropriate break would be, such as going outside for some fresh air. You might also suggest getting a healthy snack such as fruit as opposed to sitting down in front of the television for their break.

Try to Make it Fun

Trying to make homework fun is another thing that you can do to help make homework easier for your child. For example, there are countless videos on YouTube with different school subjects that make learning a lot of fun. This is a great option especially if your child is more of a visual learner. There are also online games that can teach and entertain at the same time.

Give Them Small Rewards

Be sure to reward your child’s good work. If your child has done well with getting their homework done all week then plan a fun activity that you can do together. This way your child will be excited to learn more and continue to do well with their homework. Younger children, especially, enjoy a visual reminder such as a chart that they can put a sticker on when their homework has been completed.

Thanks for Reading

Homework is not really fun for anyone. However, it does help your child progress academically. If you are able to help your child with their homework completed, school will become a lot easier for your child. You just may find they will do even better than expected in school.
