Financial Tips from DealDash for 2017
Taxes were due last week, how are your financials? If you need a little help, here are some financial tips to consider in 2017 from DealDash.
If you have not already, it’s time to make a list of financial priorities for 2017. This will help you in many ways, including to help you spend the money wisely and save for rainy days. It is not easy to save money, but also, it is not impossible. Here are some tips that will help you deal with your future expenses:
Cut Costs that are not Necessary
Make a list with your estimated monthly expenditures and try follow it as closely as possible. Avoid unnecessary costs, and you will see how you are going to save a lot of money. For example, do you really need three TVs in your house? Each of these TVs use up electricity, and take up space. Do you really need the latest smartphone, the premium cable channels, and to grocery shop at the fanciest supermarket? Try to figure out how you can lower some of these costs.
Pay Your Debts on Time
If you do not pay the rent, utility bills, and your taxes, they are going to accrue interest. Try to spend your money in such a way that you will not have any debt this year. For example, my family puts everything on a credit card, from gas to food, for the credit card rewards. However, we pay the bill in full each month so that we aren’t charged any interest.
Save Money, Don’t Waste it
There are too many tips to include in this list that can save you money. The first thing you can do, however, is to be aware of the price of your groceries. For example, you will always find lower prices on fruits and veggies at a farmer’s market instead of a supermarket. After that, try to conserve electricity, and gas – for the house as well as the car! This way, you will pay less for your bills. Hunt around for discounts from various supermarkets and profit from the advantages that loyalty cards offer. Always compare prices before you buy anything, even small things such as socks. For example, online stores frequently have lower prices. Also, try to buy your clothing in the wrong season. For example, you can buy winter jackets at a lower price right now, in the Spring.
Spend a Little Today, Save Money Tomorrow
Some home improvements can be done now that will save you money in the future. For example, you can thermally insulate your house, and the heating bills will be lower. You can also apply this practice to buying the most efficient hot water heater, air conditioning system, and so on.
Save Money for Dark Days
You need to have an emergency fund that can be used for rainy days. What will you do if during the summer, your fridge unexpectedly breaks? Where will you find money to buy another one? Your rainy day savings, of course. It’s the best practice to have three month’s worth of living expenses in savings just in case.
