Do you get racing thoughts at night? Too anxious to sleep? Read on for some help from DealDash.

If you have trouble sleeping at night due to having some anxiety, life can be a little tough. If you keep yourself up at night worrying about things that happened during the day, you’re missing out on some much-needed sleep. Not only that, once you have been up at night worrying and thinking for a while, then another frustrating thing is then piling on the anxiety of knowing that you’re going to have a rough day the next day due to lack of sleep. Luckily, there are a few things that you can do to help. Read on for more information from DealDash.

Skip the Caffeine at Night

Being a fan of coffee and soda, myself, I know that this can be a hard habit to break. However, if you want to be calm at bedtime, then you should skip the caffeine in the evening. Aim for skipping coffee, soda, and energy drinks about six hours before bedtime. Tea has much less caffeine in it, so if you must have a little something then go with tea.

Try Journaling in the Evening

A lot of stressful things can happen during the course of an average day. Things like an argument with your spouse, getting a talking-to from your boss or having a fight with a friend can all leave a lot on your mind. And when you have a lot of things on your mind it can be very difficult for you to calm your brain down and sleep. However, if you can make it a practice to write in a journal every evening after dinner it can help relieve some of the stresses of the day. If you can get into the habit of journaling, it will be something that you look forward to every evening and it will improve your mood.

Take a Warm Shower Before Bed

I know that many people enjoy taking a shower in the morning to help wake them up. Personally, I prefer to shower in the evening. Washing away the stresses of the day with warm water is a nice way to end the day.  In addition to that, the shower is a great place to think. You know that no one is going to disturb you, the water will muffle any sniffles or mumblings that you might do, and it just feels like a safe space. Also, singing is another great stress reliever, and most people enjoy singing in the shower every now and then.
