DealDash’s Family Friendly New Year’s Eve Ideas

DealDash

You don’t have to be a party person to enjoy New Year’s Eve. Here are some family friendly ideas from DealDash to give you some ideas for your evening.

There comes a time for all of us when the idea of going out to spend the night in a crowded bar just isn’t appealing anymore. If you’re like me, spending the night with your family is a much better option. Read on for some suggestions from DealDash to enjoy the night with your family.

PJ Day for Everyone

Firstly, everyone loves wearing PJs, so an idea is to make it a pajama party for the kids. And also this makes life so much easier when you have to carry them to bed. The kids are already comfy and prepared, so you can just lay them down, pull the covers up, and let them doze back off. Also, this is an especially good plan for the type of person who is super excited to stay up until midnight but just can’t quite make it that late.

Invite Friends and Family for a Potluck Dinner

Next, we like to start the night with a bit of a potluck so that no one person has all of the work. As a result, many hands make the lifting light, as they say. We typically try to have an early dinner so that there is time for the kids to take a quick nap. Truth be told, some of our adults sneak a nap in as well. When you make it a pajama party, everyone can nap!

Special New Year’s Treats

Finally, our family really enjoys baking, so we make some sort of dessert every year that the family eats after the ball drops. It may be cookies with glittery sprinkles or it may be something someone found online. Therefore, the only rule is that the kids have to have some type of role in the process. My daughter loves to decorate with frosting and sprinkles.

Over the years, we’ve found that having a toast is a favorite tradition for our family. We give everyone their drink of choice (including milk or juice for the kids) so that anyone can take part. There’s a very short speech, and we raise our glass. It brings everyone together and allows people to offer a quick message.

Also, if you want to keep the energy up for most of the night, try watching “the ball drop” across the world. It’s really cool to see how everyone celebrates, and Saudi Arabia typically has one of the most beautiful shows imaginable. You won’t be disappointed.

DealDash Helps You Organize a Neighborhood Yard Sale

DealDash

Make yourself some cash and a few new friends by hosting a community yard sale. Here are some ideas from DealDash to get you started.

Having a yard sale is a fun thing to do, especially when you make it a neighborhood event. You have a chance to bond with your neighbors and get rid of unwanted items. Hosting a neighborhood yard sale takes some preparation. Here are some helpful tips for hosting a neighborhood yard sale so it can go smoothly, from DealDash.

Hold a Meeting in Your Community

Having a community meaning is a great way to organize your neighborhood sale. You can gather everyone on your block or street to discuss the details.  In order to invite your neighbors to the community meeting, you should put flyers up. You can also invite them via social media, or on a neighborhood app if you have one. You can have the meeting at your place or in a common area, such as at the school bus stop.

Get a Permit if Required

Before you have a neighborhood sale, it is best to go to your city to ask if you need a permit. If your neighborhood has high traffic it can cause a lot of commotion and headaches for drivers. Each city has its own guidelines when it comes to neighborhood sales, so it is good to ask before you start to prepare for the big day. Typically these permits are very inexpensive, ranging in price from free up to $20 or so. It just depends on where you live.

Organized the Neighborhood Yard Sale

Once you have all of your permits and things in order, it is time to organize your yard sale. Make sure that your neighbors know what they can sell and can’t sell. It is important for your neighbors to make price signs two nights before you start selling. Remember to hang up a flyer in your neighborhood or community area.

Just a Friendly Reminder – You can’t sell Items You Win on DealDash

Yard sales are a wonderful way to make a little extra cash – or save money by purchasing used items. However, please remember that selling the things that you win on DealDash is not allowed. You may keep them for yourself, give them as a gift, or donate them to charity.

Get Items on DealDash to Make Yourself Comfortable

Another important thing to remember when you have a sale is to have items on hand to make yourself comfortable. These items can be things such as a cooler for your drinks, a camp chair to relax on, or some sunglasses to protect your eyes. DealDash has all of these items and more! Simply browse the Hobbies, Toys, Outdoors and Games category as well as the Home, Garden, and Tools category. You will find everything you need to make yourself comfortable in these two categories.

DealDash Tips for a Spring Garage Sale

DealDash

After all of that spring cleaning you probably have some things to get rid of. Here are some great tips from DealDash on having a yard sale at your home.

The weather is getting warmer, and you probably have many things that you would like to get rid of. There are plenty of ways to sell your unwanted items online, but sometimes a good old-fashioned yard or garage sale is the best avenue. Preparing for a garage sale can take a lot of work. Here are 3 tips to prepare for a garage sale, from DealDash. Please do note, however, that re-selling of items that you got on DealDash isn’t allowed.

Pick a Day

It is important to pick a day when you are going to sell your items. The best days are on the weekends either Saturday or Sunday. Everyone is home at that time, and many people go to garage sales on the weekend. You should have your garage sale when the weather is not too hot or cold. This will make the conditions comfortable for your customers.

Make Advertisements

Once you have the day picked out and your unwanted items are ready for your garage sale it is time to advertise. You can advertise in the newspaper, Facebook, or make signs for your garage sale. You can post the signs around your neighborhood to let everyone know. Don’t forget to make some signs with arrows on them to point the way to your house from the main street. Also, don’t forget to take the signs down when your sale is over!

Interact with Your Customers

People see garage sales as a fun shopping experience. You should never let your customers just go in and pick up some stuff. Interacting with them and answering their questions will give them a more pleasant shopping experience. Remember to not act pushy, and just let them come to you if they have questions about the unwanted products. Make sure you have your chair positioned towards the front so you can greet the people as they walk towards your garage sale.

Use Your Profits to Buy Yourself Something on DealDash

After your sale is over and you have your money counted up, why not get yourself something nice on DealDash? Now that it’s getting warmer out you could get some gardening equipment or a yard decoration like a firepit or some solar lights? DealDash has so many nice things for your home to choose from.
