DealDash’s Toddler Tips and Tricks

Toddlers can be troublesome little cuties, but there are ways to make things go smoothly. Read on for some tips and tricks for toddler behavior, from DealDash.

Lots of parents and grandparents fret about taking their toddler out and about in public. With most toddlers, they can have a meltdown for unknown and unpredicted reasons. Tantrums are extremely common in toddlers and can’t always be prevented. Here are a few tips to help you get through a tantrum, from DealDash.

Do You Know the Cause?

Firstly, you should try to determine the cause of this behavior. Does your child have a problem that can be easily taken care of, such as being hungry or hot/cold? Did something happen to upset them somehow? To help your child you will need to find out exactly what is causing the issue. Of course, sometimes the reason might not make any sense to you and you won’t be able to help them. But this technique will work sometimes.

Stay Calm in the Face of Tantrums

Next, even though it can be difficult, you need to keep your composure when your toddler is having a tantrum. If you don’t stay calm and get angry it will only make your child more upset. No matter how angry you feel you will have to keep calm so you don’t prolong the tantrum and make things worse.

Toddlers Are Easily Distracted

Finally, when it comes to calming down a child having a tantrum, distraction can work wonders. Something as simple as pointing out the window to show them a bird, squirrel, or dog walking by can be enough to distract them. Another great way to distract toddlers can be by offering a drink or healthy snack. My kids have always wanted a snack no matter how upset they are! Just make sure that you are offering something that is healthy and won’t make them more hyper like candy.

Reward Good Behavior With Help From DealDash

Be sure to regularly reward your child’s good behavior. When you notice that your child has had great behavior, you might want to get them a small gift. DealDash has lots of things your child would love to get as a reward. No matter if they love Legos, stuffed animals, or even video games, DealDash has it all. DealDash Kids: Choose the Right Stroller

Baby Trend Expedition Jogger Travel System, TropicSince it’s so nice outside now you might consider getting a stroller so you can take your baby or toddler out. Here are some tips and suggestions from DealDash to choose the right one.

When you are a new parent one thing that you will be wanting to purchase is a stroller, and as your baby grows you might need to replace it with a different type. But how do you know which is the best stroller for your baby or toddler? Here are a few tips to helping you select the best stroller for your baby’s unique needs, from DealDash.

Figure Out the Budget

Firstly, you need to consider your budget as you want to stay within your budget when purchasing a stroller. Additionally, you should look at a wide variety of strollers that fall within your budget so that you can get an excellent idea of what is out there.

You can get a very inexpensive umbrella-type stroller from any big box store, but these won’t work for a small baby and they are usually not very sturdy. At the other end of the spectrum, there are strollers that are in excess of $1,000! Thankfully, there are many choices in-between.

Is it Complicated?

An important thing to consider how simple the stroller is to use. You need to make sure that the stroller will be simple to use while you are out and about with your baby. Also, you do not want to have a stroller that is uncomfortable and difficult to use. Pay special attention to how the stroller closes. You might have to close it one-handed at times, so be sure that it’s not too difficult to open and close.

Consider the Terrain

You will also need to consider where you will be using the stroller. For example, will you be using the stroller in the city or will you need it more for hiking in nature with your baby? Consider this carefully as there are different strollers for different terrains.

In addition, can the stroller be folded? Some jogging strollers are not able to be folded. If you want to use the stroller in a different location such as driving to a park, then it’s important that it folds. This means it will be much more simple to transport then if it could not be folded.

Ease of Assembly

Many strollers come in a box and need to be assembled. You also need to think about this when you go to the store or look online. Also, is it easy to understand all of the information provided about the stroller? You need to be able to understand which stroller is going to work the best for the needs of not only your baby but you as well.

Thanks for Reading

Getting a new stroller should be a decision that you choose carefully. Choosing a stroller can be overwhelming but if you take the time to do some research the entire process will go a lot more smoothly.  So keep that in mind when you’re looking for a stroller for your baby.

DealDash Helps: Survive a Toddler Tantrum

Have a toddler that’s getting you down with tantrums? Follow these tips from DealDash to help tame tantrums.

Many parents worry about taking their toddler out. They know they will run the risk of their child throwing a tantrum. Tantrums are common in younger children. You want to make sure that you are equipped to deal with them while you are both at home as well as out in public. Here are a few tips to help you survive a toddler tantrum, from DealDash.

Have a Problem?

The first thing that you should do when your toddler is throwing a tantrum is to see what is causing this behavior. Typically, if they are having a tantrum it means that they have a problem. Is your child hungry or tired? Has something happened to upset them somehow? You what to find out exactly what is causing your toddler to have a tantrum so you will be better equipped to diffuse the situation.

Keep yourself calm

You need to keep your composure when your toddler is throwing a tantrum. If you get upset then it will only make your child more upset than they already are. Making sure that you stay calm is going to be a huge help in calming your child. Realize that if you yell at them for being upset it will not help calm them down. Yelling is not a good solution for dealing with toddlers unless it is to stop them from doing something dangerous such as touching a hot stove or running into the street.

Distract Your Little Darling

Finding a distraction to occupy your toddler’s mind is also going to help when you are looking for ways to help them calm down when they are having a tantrum. You want to find something that will soothe them so that they will hopefully calm down and move on to something else other than whatever issue that is currently upsetting them. Doing something as simple as holding your toddler and hugging them can be enough to distract them from their tantrum. Some people call this a “time in” rather than a time out.

DealDash Deals With Tantrums

DealDash Deals Tantrums

Dealing with a toddler usually means tantrums. Let DealDash help you deal with tantrums without too many tears.

When your child or grandchild is having a tantrum it can be extremely frustrating. Luckily, though, tantrums are usually a short-lived phase in your little one’s life. Until they have gained a little maturity, though, tantrums can be embarrassing, frustrating, and annoying. It might make you feel a little better to know that your child probably isn’t enjoying it, either.

Tantrums are the way to express his/her frustration when they are having trouble communicating. Most children that are young enough to still have regular tantrums don’t yet have the language skills to express in words what is bothering them. It could be anything from hunger, tiredness, or their socks are itchy. If they don’t have the words to tell you the problem, they rely on the tantrum to get your attention so that you can fix their problem. Luckily, there are a few ways that you can deal with these tantrums. Here are some ideas from DealDash.

Be Attentive

Your child develops a sense of happiness and self-esteem as you continually help him/her with their wants and needs, so try your best to fulfill the “requests” whenever possible and practical. If you can’t give your little one what he wants try offering something else in its place. If ice cream is the request, try offering something such as juice or a piece of fruit instead.

Stay Calm

When your little one is having a tantrum, try your best to be calm and neutral even if you are feeling upset or frustrated. Try not to engage too much with your child when they are having a tantrum. Too much attention will just teach them that they get extra attention when they are acting out, and everyone knows how much kids love attention! Acknowledge their feelings of anger, frustration, or whatever you think that the problem might be, but after that just sit quietly and let them get it out of their system

Distraction is a Tool

You can probably tell when your child is about to have a tantrum, and if you can catch it before it starts you might be able to avoid it altogether. Once a tantrum starts it’s fairly difficult to stop, so try to stop it before it starts. A great way to distract a small child is with toys, of course.

DealDash has toys that are both fun and educational that would be great for distracting a toddler. If you are looking for outdoor toys, indoor toys, learning toys, or just toys to cuddle be sure to check out DealDash. DealDash has toys for kids of all ages and stages. Visit DealDash now. There are many ways to keep a baby safe from itself. Let’s look at the different ways to keep a baby safe.

As the mom of a 9 month old baby I am constantly worried that he is getting himself into trouble when I step away for even a moment to answer the phone or check on something in the oven. Luckily, there are many ways to keep babies safe and sound from harm these days. Here are a few ways to keep your house baby-proofed and safe for everyone.

The number one way to keep your baby safe is constant vigilance, of course, but there are just a few times a day that you might need to leave your baby alone for a few minutes at a time. When you need to leave your baby to check the mail, answer the phone, or any other 5 minute activity then you should utilize a baby monitor. There are different types of baby monitor:

  • Classic – You can hear the baby, and when you press a button you can speak to the baby.
  • Video – You can see and hear the baby, and when you press a button you can speak to the baby. Some have other features such as room temperature, plays lullabies, and night vision.
  • Smartphone – With these monitors, they do everything that the video monitor does, except instead of having to stay within 100 yards of the house you can check your baby from anywhere using your smartphone. This is a great monitor to have if you leave your baby at home with a babysitter, or if you have a nanny.

Another way to keep your baby safe is by investing in a Pack N’ Play, playpen, or play yard. These are great to have if you are at home within sight of your baby but need to keep them contained for a short period of time, such as when you are cooking, cleaning, or doing a project. If you use one of these, make sure that all of the toys that you put in the baby containment unit are baby-safe and non-chokable.

Lastly, be sure to baby-proof your electrical outlets and keep your phone chargers out of reach! Electrical outlets pose a danger to babies, especially if they are in the stage where they like to lick and chew on everything. Phone charger cords can be a dangerous choking and electrocution hazard.
