DealDash Blog: Leaving Things Behind
Instead of thinking ahead to the new year, and what we will achieve, let’s see what we can leave behind.
Hopefully, all of the DealDash Reviewed readers have had an excellent 2016. I have had a good year, with a few ups and downs, of course. Everyone is thinking ahead to the new year that’s coming soon, and that’s a productive thing to do, but I feel like it’s also important that we think about what we should leave behind with 2016 as well.
I’ve actually had a pretty bad year, health-wise. I had a very difficult labor and birth in January, and an emergency cholecystectomy in February. My health hasn’t been the same since, I’ve been in and out of the hospital all year. There’s nothing more that I would like to leave behind than my poor health. How can that be accomplished? Exercise, more sleep, eating healthier, and not overexerting myself, I would guess. I’m sure all of you that have had a bad 2016 due to your health would like to join me in leaving bad health behind.
Another thing that would be great to leave behind in 2016 is grudges, bad feelings, and disagreements with your friends and family. Being at odds with a close friend or family member can really put a damper on your enjoyment of life. Let’s leave behind those grudges, bad feelings, and disagreements with the people in your life that you care about.
If you’re having grudges, bad feelings, and disagreements with someone who isn’t a close friend or family member, maybe it’s time to leave them behind with 2016. Just because you have known someone for a long time, or lives close to you, or is a friend-of-a-friend doesn’t mean that you have to bring them into 2017 with you if you don’t want to.
There’s one last thing that we should all leave behind in 2016 and that’s insecurity. Insecurity causes so many problems in life – jealousy, depression, anger and more. Why not just be the best person that you can, and not worry about what everyone else is thinking? Leave that insecurity behind in 2016 and you will have a better 2017, guaranteed.
