DealDash Cooks: Kid’s Snacks
Kids love to snack between meals, but sometimes the easiest snack food is just not healthy. Here are some fast and fun snacks kids will love.
No matter if your kids are tiny or big, they all love to snack! Some of my kids favorite snacks are fruit snacks, chips, and other unhealthy things. To try to combat the unhealthy snacks I try to make healthier choices for them with an element of fun. Here are a few ideas for some healthy kid’s snacks.
Grape Dolphin – As you can see in the picture above, the Grape Dolphin is super simple to make. Take a banana and cut it in half horizontally. Take the half of the banana with the stem and cut the stem vertically. Stick a grape into the “mouth” that you made. Stick it in a small bowl. Scatter grapes around your dolphin. Enjoy. Please remember, if you have kids 3 or younger to cut all of the grapes in half vertically to help prevent choking.
Frozen Yogurt Drops – Take any flavor of Greek yogurt and put into a ziplock bag. Slice off one corner of the bag and squeeze out into quarter sized drops onto a cookie sheet covered in parchment paper. Freeze for about 2 hours. Store in a tupperware container in the freezer until ready to use. These can be kept in the freezer until the original expiration date. These are a delicious ice cream-like treat that is good for you – especially if you use the zero fat type of Greek yogurt.
Strawberry Ladybugs – These are definitely a cute treat for kids – they even have chocolate! To make them just cut strawberries lengthwise, insert a few chocolate chips, and arrange on a plate with a blueberry at the top for a head. Please see the picture below:
As you can see, you can have a lot of fun with your kid’s snacks and be healthy at the same time. Most of these treats need a sharp knife to prepare. If you need a new sharp kitchen knife be sure to check out DealDash’s Kitchen and Dining category located at this link right here.
