So many people these days are eating low carb or keto. This spaghetti squash recipe from DealDash might help.

Low carb and keto diets are all the rage these days. However, since most people are very fond of eating pasta, it can be difficult to sustain. If you’re a pasta lover and would like to try to eat a lower carb diet, why not try spaghetti squash? It’s nutritious, delicious and fun to make. Read on for more information about spaghetti squash, from DealDash.

What IS spaghetti squash?

Spaghetti squash is, like it sounds, a member of the squash family.  When you cook this squash its flesh falls away from its fruit in strands that look a lot like spaghetti, hence the name, spaghetti squash. It’s said that we “eat with our eyes” first, so since this squash looks like spaghetti it’s easier for your brain to try and compare it to actual pasta.

Spaghetti squash can be prepared in many different ways that include boiling, baking, and roasting. You can treat it just like regular spaghetti and put red sauce and parmesan cheese on top, or you can serve it simply with salt and pepper or butter or melted cheese.

Spaghetti squash is quite versatile, and that’s what makes it a favorite among many people. Please keep in mind, though, if you are trying to eat a low carb or keto diet to watch what you put on top of the spaghetti squash. Many pasta sauces have added sugar and lots of carbs. If you’d like a sauce you can make your own quite easily with a can of crushed tomatoes, onions, and some seasonings.
