DealDash Examines Baby Food

DealDash Baby

Do you have a little baby that is going to be trying solids soon? DealDash is here to explain what some of your options are when choosing baby food.

Everyone has an opinion when it comes to your baby, and most people mean well when they try to give you advice. If you are unsure what you should be feeding your baby you should ask your baby’s doctor, first. You might end up feeling overwhelmed with all of the different options out there to choose from. Here are some ideas from DealDash.

Baby Cereal & Baby Oatmeal

Baby cereal and baby oatmeal are the first solids that a baby usually tries when they are ready to move beyond milk and formula. These foods are very similar, they come in a powder form that you can mix with milk, formula, or water. You can add more or less liquid to make them thin and soupy or thicker like regular oatmeal. When you first give these to your baby you will want to make them very thin and soupy and gradually thicken them up.

Rice Husk Baby Crackers

Baby crackers made of rice husks are also a very popular beginner food for your baby. When your baby is able to sit on their own they should be able to eat these crackers with supervision. These crackers melt when your baby gums them, and they can feel very soothing on their gums when they are teething.

Jarred Baby Food

Jarred baby food is usually the next step after your baby is comfortable with the baby cereal and baby oatmeal. Typically you would start with jars that are made of a single fruit or vegetable and move your way up to jars that have multiple fruits and veggies combined. That way you can see which ones your baby likes best, dislikes, and most importantly to see if your baby has an allergy to any of them.

Baby Food Pouches

Baby food pouches are becoming very popular, they are great for taking on-the-go because you can squirt them directly into your baby’s mouth instead of having to remember to bring a spoon. They are also great for babies that are a little older and can suck the food directly from the pouch themselves.

Cheerios

Cheerios are a beloved food of almost every baby, toddler, and kid. Plain Cheerios are a great snack food for your baby and are inexpensive and fun to eat. They are a safer food since they are small with a hole in the middle to prevent choking. Cheerios are great for babies that have a couple of teeth to chew with.

Homemade

Homemade baby food is the freshest and healthiest food available for your baby. Unfortunately, it takes quite a bit of time, effort, and clean up to make your own baby food. If you have time on a weekend, though, you can make large batches of baby food and freeze them in small batches to use throughout the week. If you’re interested in making your own baby food it’s fairly simple and all you really need is a food processor.
