When many people look at their monthly budget they see that the food that they purchase is taking up a large portion of the money that they spend every month. This leads people to start looking for ways to start saving money on their monthly grocery bill. One way to accomplish this is to start using coupons. DealDash has more information for you, read on.
Where Can I Get Coupons?
The first thing that you will want to do is to make sure that you find out where you can get ahold of some coupons. You can find them in several locations. You can get them from your grocery store, look online and look in your newspaper for a few examples. If you are serious about couponing, then you will want to do a combination of coupon-gathering ideas. Some people even write to their favorite companies and successfully request coupons to be sent to them. Once you have gathered up your coupons, you are ready to make a list and go shopping.
Learn Each Store’s Policy For Couponing
Next, you will want to request your favorite store’s written policies for coupons, as you want to make sure that you maximize your savings with them. You need to learn about things like stacking coupons, double coupons and matching coupons with items that are on sale. You need the store’s policy on coupons so you can know that you will be using them correctly. Otherwise, you might be wasting your time with a shopping trip when the cashier rejects your coupons at the register.
Keep Your Coupons Organized
Organizing your coupons is also highly recommended as you want to know exactly which coupons that you can use for the store that you happen to be shopping in. There are many ways to organize your coupons from putting them in envelopes to putting them in binders. Personally, I have a small accordion-type folder that I keep my coupons in. I keep them separated by little tabs that were included in the folder. If you’re serious about couponing you’ll want to invest in something to organize your coupons.
Cull Out the Expired Coupons
Lastly you want to make sure that you take the time to go through your coupons to make sure that you get rid of the coupons that have expired. Nothing would be worse than counting on savings from coupons only to find that they have expired. Try to cull out the expired coupons once per week, that way you can keep on top of the problem and it won’t get out of hand.
