DealDash has a Yard Sale
Spring is here, and summer is coming. Maybe it’s time to have a yard sale.
Do you have a lot of extra things in your house that you don’t use anymore? A yard sale is a great way to free up some space in your house as well as make a little extra cash. Let DealDash help you prepare for a yard sale.
What Exactly is a Yard Sale?
Depending on where you live in the USA, you might call it something else. My husband is from Connecticut and they call them “tag sales” there. In other parts of the country, they call them garage sales. However, they all mean the same thing – selling your old items at your house on the cheap.
What Do You Need?
You need to have a few things before you put all of your old stuff out on your lawn you need a few supplies. You’ll probably be having your sale on Saturday, or maybe Sunday. So on Friday, you’ll want to make some signs with your address on them advertising your sale and put them up in your neighborhood.
You’ll also need to get price stickers and label all of the things that you want to sell. People really dislike it when they come to your yard sale and nothing is labeled. People can be shy or antisocial and really don’t care to ask the prices on your items. My suggestion to you is to price things slightly higher than you actually want – maybe by a dollar or so. People tend to haggle over every little thing, so you might as well try to beat them at their own game.
Tables or blankets to spread all of your things out on are a good idea as well. You can just toss everything in the lawn on or the driveway, but things will look much nicer if they are arranged carefully. People will be willing to pay a bit more if they think that you’ve taken good care of your things.
Finally, you’ll need to have change on hand. You need quarters, dollars, fives, and tens. You should quickly be overflowing with all sorts of change and dollar bills, but in the beginning of your sale you will need to supply your own. You don’t want to miss out on a sale because you don’t have any change to give them.
