Getting Back Your Motivation, With DealDash

DealDash

Everyone needs a little help with their motivation sometimes. There are a few things you can do. Here are some tips from DealDash.

How can you find your motivation once you’ve lost it? Well, that’s actually a tricky question, because it’s different for everyone. For some people, a pep talk will work. For others, a motivational picture, song, or speech directed at a crowd will work. Until you know what motivates you, it will be difficult to help you. Interestingly enough, different ways of motivation can work in different ways. Here are some tips and tricks from DealDash to help.

Spend Time With People Who Motivate

Think of the most motivating people that you know. What do they have in common? My guess would be that they are people who have a positive attitude, have a generally cheerful personality, and have a lot of energy. It’s okay if these aren’t your own personal traits, you can help your own motivation by merely spending time with people like this. Positive (and negative) energy seems to pass easily from person to person, and by spending time with motivational people you can help yourself.

Set Goals, Stick to Them

Sometimes getting motivated is a long process. People don’t typically wake up motivated and energized unless they have something to look forward to. Having goals to work towards can help keep up your motivation when it’s running low.

Making lists, charts, and cutting out pictures can all help you with your motivation. Seeing yourself check off things on your list can be motivational in itself. Setting small goals that can be checked off often is personally more helpful to me than setting fewer, larger goals that are less frequently checked off. I love the positive feeling that I get when I can check something off of my list. It feels very motivational to be able to actually see myself working through my personal goals.

It’s Okay to Take a Break

Sometimes motivation doesn’t come easy. If you’ve been having a problem with your motivation for a while and you’ve been doing your best to combat the inertia then take a break! This might sound counterintuitive if you’re trying to pursue your goals, but everyone needs a break sometimes.

For example, if you have been working on losing weight for a while and you’ve lost your motivation, then take a break! Use the weekend to re-charge and re-set. Eating that burger and fries on Saturday night won’t make you gain that 20 pounds back overnight, but it might help you to reset your motivation and get back into the gym on Monday. Be gentle with yourself.
