DealDash Self-Care for Parents

DealDash

We all need to take some time for self-care, especially those of us who have small children. DealDash has some tips to help.

Let’s face it, life has been rough for parents lately – between the online school meetings, trying to homeschool the kids to teach them new lessons, as well as trying to work. It’s been tough. This is why sneaking in a little time for yourself each day is important. When you’re a mom, you understand how draining motherhood is. Read on for some helpful suggestions from DealDash.

You Have to Make Time

During this stressful time, you are probably focusing all of your attention on taking care of your children. You just quite simply forget to be kind and to care of yourself. The challenge, however, is finding time in your day to do so. It’s easy to disregard self-care and make yourself a priority because of the numerous things need to be done first. The thing is unless you can put yourself first and make self-care a priority, having the time for yourself will never happen. If you and your family have a schedule that you try to follow during the day, you need to pencil in a space each day for yourself.

Make it a Late Night or an Early Morning

I take full advantage of the time when my children go to bed and also the moments I’m awake in the morning before they are to carve out my “me time”. I’ll admit that it’s challenging. I really like getting to bed early and also sleeping in. However, the only “sleeping in” that I get these days is when my husband offers to take over the morning routine.

If you’re like me, and neither enjoys staying up late or rising early, setting your alarm even 15 minutes earlier in the AM can be a huge step toward finding time for yourself. Sadly, Mom life lately has been a busy life so possibly the only real respite you get is when your children are sleeping. Use naps and bedtime to partake in self-care activities you enjoy such as exercising, yoga, crafts, or reading a book.

Pick Yourself Up Something Nice on DealDash

Finally, one of the best ways to enjoy a little self-care is to get yourself a little gift. My favorite and one of the most popular categories on DealDash is Fashion, Health, and Beauty. DealDash Slows Down With Some Self-Care Ideas

DealDash

In this “go, go, go” world, it’s important to take some time out for self-care. Here are some ideas from DealDash on how to slow down and self-reflect, from DealDash.

If you have been feeling like you are too busy with work, family, and other obligations, it’s time to slow down a little bit and take some time for self-care. This can be a difficult task to accomplish if you are used to taking care of everything, but with these tips from DealDash, you can do it!

Relax Prior to Bed

This is the time where you ought to start winding down and getting rid of the worries of the day. At the end of the day, you ought to have the ability to “turn off” from your job setting, the kids, or other obligations and just be able to take a break. Provide yourself a while to loosen up before beginning to attempt sleep.

Your room ought to be utilized just for rest and relaxation, not movies, video games, and computer time. By following this rule, when you enter your bed, your body understands that it’s time to go to sleep. Do not bring things like your laptop computer or iPad to bed, as you do not want your mind to link your bed with work. Utilize this time to close your mind down: have a bath, practice meditation, use a face mask, or whatever it is that relaxes you. This way when it is time to close your eyes for the evening you’re already half-way to slumber.

Schedule Yourself Some Self-Care

It’s very important that you are able to take time for yourself each day. This can be for reflection and meditation, a workout, journaling, or any type of various other kinds of self-care each day. Self-care doesn’t look the same to everyone. Your version of self-care might be taking a run around the neighborhood, while mine might be a nap. but whatever makes you happy is what to strive for.

Save Time With DealDash

Many people think that they simply don’t have any spare time for self-care. Happily, though, there is a solution. You can save time by shopping on DealDash! Instead of getting in the car, driving to the mall, finding a parking spot, walking halfway across the mall to the store – you can stay home, bid, and get the things you need! Not only that, you won’t have to pay any extra for shipping, either, because they cover the shipping cost on all items, big and small.

DealDash even has items that you can utilize in your self-care routines! Check out the Fashion, Health, and Beauty category at this link here. You will find things to help you relax and make you feel great such as perfume, sonic facial cleansers, hair straighteners, massagers, and more.

Let DealDash Help Save Your Energy

dealdash

Our energy is important, and you should try not to waste it. Here are some ideas from DealDash to help save your energy for the important things.

Whatever we do calls for energy, from going to work to keeping things going at home. Lots of people site absence of time for their failure to reach their objectives when it’s really their normal day that is sapping their power before they have an opportunity to work on hobbies and projects that are important to them. Here are some ideas from DealDash to reduce the energy spent on things that are less important to the things that really matter.

Too Much Social Networking

Social media is excellent in some forms, especially in small amounts. However, contrasted to the other alternatives, it is a well-known waste of space and energy when used in big doses. Social networking is great to keep in contact with friends and relatives. However, it’s very easy to accidentally spend hours at a time, doing nothing in particular. Have you ever zoned out on social media and then wondered “Where did my Sunday afternoon go?” Social media has its place, but you should watch the time and set a time limit for yourself such as 20-30 minutes.

Doing Things the Hard Way

Another huge waste of your energy is doing things “the hard way”. For example, with most modern dishwashers there is no need to pre-rinse unless you have caked-on grime. Why do many people still rinse every dish? Most likely this is just a habit from when they learned how to use a dishwasher many years ago when they weren’t as effective as they are now. There are lots of things in your day that you are probably doing the hard way. Give some thought to what you can do to make small changes that will add up to big energy savings throughout the day.

Where to Invest Your Time and Energy

  • Friends and family are the things that make your life more amazing than it already is. No matter who you are, or where you go, your friends and family are what makes life great! Turn off those distractions and drains on your time and use it on spending time with your loved ones.
  • Hobbies and special projects are a great way to spend your time and energy. Rather than using your energy on things that don’t really need it, why not get out those golf clubs, knitting needles, or cookbook and enjoy your hobbies? If you can incorporate your hobby and spending time with a friend or family member, even better!
  • Gaining knowledge is another wonderful use of your energy. You can pick up a book on a subject that interests you, take a class online, or even just watch a video about a subject that you’re interested in. No one has ever said, “Wow, I sure wish I didn’t bother learning a new skill.”

DealDash – Your Lifestyle Affects Your Sleep Cycle

DealDashHow does your lifestyle affect your sleep cycle? Let DealDash explain it to you in this article.

We live in a society where the pace of life is hectic from the time we wake up to the time we go to bed. More and more people are having some difficulty sleeping. Work, family, bills, and the atmosphere of the city where everyone is in a hurry- all these factors end up influencing our hormonal system in one way or another. This is usually in the form of stress, and as we know, a high level of stress means high levels of cortisol. There are a few things that you can do to help. Read on for more information from DealDash.

Take Some Time to Relax

It is important to be able to find some time during the day for ourselves to try to relax. This can mean strolling in a park, going to a library, listening to music, taking a relaxing bath, or doing another activity that we like. This is in order to try to reduce stress levels, and thus at the end of the day have more options to achieve a cycle of sleep-wake. The sleep-wake cycle allows us to rest and recover.

Sleep Disorders: Insomnia & Hypersomnia

Insomnia

Insomnia can be common in specific situations of high stress. Some examples include exams, health problems, major life changes, etc. However, it can become chronic and is no longer directly related to the problem that caused it. In order for us to be able to talk about insomnia at the level of illness or disorder, it must be “common,” which is considered three or more nights a week.

Indicators of insomnia may include involuntary waking before six and a half hours of rest, multiple instances of waking up at night without being able to get back to sleep in more than half an hour, or taking more than half an hour to fall asleep at bedtime. Again, having these things happen to you occasionally is not typically a problem. It’s only when this becomes common that it’s an issue.

Hypersomnia

Hypersomnia means excessive sleep during the day, and there are different syndromes and manifestations of different origins. For example, narcolepsy-cataplexy syndrome is characterized by uncontrollable sleep attacks, episodes of paralysis during sleep, hallucinations during sleep and/or cataplexy (loss of muscle tone).

Another syndrome, sleep apnea, affects mainly (but not only) hypertensive and obese people. In apnea, breathing stops during more or less long periods of sleep, which can lead to cardiac, neurological and social problems. There are medical treatments for apnea, such as the application of a continuous-entry oxygen mask, also known as a C-Pap. This is a serious disorder, and if you suspect you suffer from sleep apnea you should schedule a visit with your doctor.
