1 – Take a Look at the Drain

To begin with, the first step you should take is to look at the drain. You need to examine it for any scratches or damages. Food such as bones from fish, crab shells, and even glass can get caught up in the dishwasher drain. To examine your drain, all you have to do is pull out the drain from the bottom rack. Also, make sure you remove any glass or food that has gotten caught up in the drain. If you have things clogging your drain your dishes aren’t getting as clean as they should be.

2 – Use Vinegar

Next, vinegar can be used for multiple cleaning purposes, especially when it comes to cleaning dishwashers. All you have to do is put some vinegar in a dishwasher cup, and then place it on the top of the rack. The vinegar will sanitize and get rid of any grease that comes off of the dishes. Vinegar is one of my favorite cleaning agents since it’s completely safe and non-toxic for your family.

3 – Use Baking Soda

Lastly, almost everyone has baking soda in their house. Not only is it good for cooking, but it is also good for cleaning your dishwasher. You should use the baking soda after you finish using the vinegar. Also, remember to use a cup of baking soda and then sprinkle it on the bottom. Leave it overnight and then give it a scrub in the morning. Using baking soda will remove stains and will get rid of unwanted smells.
