We all watch TV at one time or another.  Most people don’t know that it is important to keep your flat screen TV clean.  LCD and Plasma flat screen TVs have to be cleaned more often than regular glass TV screens.  Here are some ways to clean your flat screen TV, from DealDash.

Turn the TV off

The first thing that you want to do is turn the TV off.  Pixels can be interfered with when you leave the TV on while cleaning.  Turning off the TV will also help you see more dust and dirt clearly since the TV screen will be dark. Also, if you leave the TV on while cleaning it you might get distracted and do a poor job. 

Use a Microfiber Cloth

You should not just use any old cloth to clean your TV screen. It is best to use a microfiber cloth.  These dry and soft cloths are used to also clean glasses.  They are good for plasma and LCD screens because they don’t leave any lint behind. If you don’t have a microfiber cloth handy, any soft cloth will do. I like to use a washcloth made from bamboo fiber to clean mine. 

Wipe the Screen

After you have the cloth you should simply wipe your screen.  You should gently wipe off any grime and dirt.  It is important to not press hard on the screen if the dirt is not coming off, you should just move on to the next part of the screen.  Never use paper towels or toilet paper to clean off your flat screen TV. This may scratch the screen and leave streaks.  It is also important to also clean the frame.

Adding some vinegar and water can also help clean the screen easier.  Vinegar is a detergent that you can use to clean almost anything, and it is perfect for flat screen TVs. However, you only need to use a very small amount on the cloth – do not spray it directly onto the TV.
