Christmas cookies have become a staple of the holidays, but everyone makes the same old Christmas cookies. Sure, we could tell you to try new cookie cutters and create different shapes, but we’d like to look at going a step further. Read on for some tasty unique cookie ideas, from DealDash.

Airbrush Your Sugar Cookies

If you really like your sugar cookies, consider ways to step up your game a bit. Rather than using sprinkles, consider diving into the world of icing or airbrushing. You can find edible airbrushing that will allow you to make your cookies a true piece of art. You can find the equipment at many craft stores and also cooking stores.

Cookie Sandwiches

Another great way to improve the classic is to make cookie sandwiches. Think of an Oreo for this idea. When you make your cookies, place a layer of cream in the middle and make a cookie sandwich.

Candy Bar Cookies

Candy Bar Cookies are the best. How can you go wrong when you combine a piece of candy with your favorite cookie? You can use any style of cookie and follow the normal instructions, then place chunks of your favorite candy on top. Some candies melt a bit but that adds to the gooey-ness of your snack. Using chocolate makes this one of my favorite options.

New Twists on Old Classics

  • If you’re looking for something really unique, try making vanilla meringue cookies. It seems like a pretty ordinary recipe, but you can use a little food coloring or food sprinkles to change the color and make it look a little more festive. While these cookies taste good, I love to make them with alternating green and red meringue to really pull in the Christmas spirit.
  • Everyone has heard of an Oatmeal cookie, but I like to make it a little different. In the same way that you can add a bit of extra flavor with raisins, I like to add cranberries or chocolate chips. People will see the oatmeal and find comfort in the fact that it’s a recipe they’re familiar with. But they’ll see the red from the cranberries and it will take them by surprise a bit.
