Too many families deal with the issue of having leftovers. Sadly, this often leads to food being thrown away and wasted. Always anticipate how you will make use of your leftovers..Here are some tips that can help you find new ways to use leftovers, from DealDash.

Veggie Soup

If you have leftover vegetables you could make a vegetable soup. You could also use leftover vegetables for beef stew or chicken noodle soup. You would just need a few ingredients in order to make a brand new dish that your family will enjoy eating. Additionally, you can even freeze this soup and save it for colder months if you desire.

Save That Bread

If you have leftover bread you can do many things with it. This includes making croutons for salads, you could also make bread pudding, french toast for breakfast or even for dinner. Finally, you can get some herb-infused olive oil to dip the bread in as an appetizer. Bread is so useful and there’s no need to throw the leftover bread away!

Rice can be re-used as well. For example, if you have a great deal of rice left over you can make pudding or meatballs with it. Both rice and bread are great leftovers to have available for cooking.

Got Lettuce?

If you have a lot of leftover lettuce from a meal you can always save it and make use of it for a salad or sandwiches. Just be sure to find the proper container for the lettuce so you don’t have to worry about it spoiling before you are able to use it. Remember to store it with the core pointing down with a tiny bit of water in the bottom. This will keep your lettuce fresh for longer.

Make it into Lunch

If you have a lot of leftovers from a dinner, you should consider turning them into lunch the next day. You will be able to eat healthier. Also, another bonus to doing this is that you will be able to save money on not going to a restaurant for your workday lunches.
