Do you like cute little birdies? Now that it’s Spring there are little birds all over the place. Here are a few tips and tricks from DealDash to attract them to your yard.

If you have an inviting space and a little bit of patience you should be able to attract some adorable little birdies into your yard. You just need a few supplies, and some time, and soon enough your yard will be overflowing with the beautiful chirps of sweet little birds.

What Kind of Birds are Local to You?

Do you know what sorts of birds live in your area? If not, then you’ll first need to do a little research. You can easily do this research online by going to your favorite search engine and typing in your zip code and “local birds”. You could also pick up a field guide, or even go to your local farm store or plant nursery and ask them. They will most likely know what the most common ones are in your area.

Create a Comfy Bird Area

Once you know what kind of birds are local to you then you can prepare a nice area according to what they enjoy. Some birds like to live in birdhouses, and other houses like to build their own nests.

Provide Your Tiny Guests with Food

After you have figured out what type of birds you can attract and what type of housing they enjoy, then it’s time to feed them. There are different types of feeders, and depending on what type of birds you can attract you will want to adjust the feeding. You can choose window feeders, suet feeders, and tray feeders. Also, you could go completely low-tech and just scatter the seed, but you’ll be more likely to attract furry critters rather than the feathered friends you’re desiring.

Now that you know where to put the food, what sorts of food should you use? There are lots of types of food, regular birdseed is just the beginning. You can also feed most birds corn, millet, and suet. Of course, you’ll want to choose the type of food based on what type of little birdie that you’re attracting.

Don’t forget the Water!

Now that you’ve got housing and food sorted out, it’s time for water. Birds love to bathe and preen in the water, so get those birdies a bath. A birdbath is not only great for the birds, but it will also look great in your yard.
