Next, making a good first impression is all about putting yourself in the other person’s shoes – how would you like to be treated if you were them. Thus, if you are meeting a serious boyfriend or girlfriend’s family for the first time at their home you might want to bring them a small gift such as a bottle of wine or some flowers. It will make them feel good and have a better opinion of you since you were putting yourself in their shoes and putting a lot of thought into the evening.

Don’t Skimp on Sleep

Finally, no matter what the situation calls for in making a good first impression, you need to be well-rested. Don’t skip the sleep if you have an important day the next day and plan on meeting new people. You’ll be on your “A” game if you get enough sleep and are well-rested. You’ll be more mentally alert and be able to think on your feet and remember things better as well. There’s no downside to getting enough rest.
