DealDash’s Fun Ideas for the Weekend
Hello, weekend! It’s Saturday morning, do you have anything fun planned? If not, read on for some tips and ideas from DealDash.
What’s your favorite thing to do on weekends? Typically my family does something with the kids in the afternoon, then we go out to dinner at night. It’s fun for them, and it’s fun for me because I don’t have to cook and clean up two days per week! There are still a few weekends left before my kids go back to school, so we are going to pack in some fun activities. If you need some suggestions to get out of the house, here are some suggestions from DealDash.
Nature Walks
My family loves to be outside, but since the baby and I have very pale skin we are quite sensitive to the sun. We can get our “outdoors fix” by going on nature walks. The trees provide a nice cover from the sun, the kids get to look at cute furry animals, and we all get some exercise. Nature walks are one of those wonderful times that the kids can learn things without even realize that they are learning! This isn’t so important for my daughter who loves to learn, but my son is very “anti-school”, so it’s great for him to learn without realizing he’s doing it!
The Beach (with a Tent)
My husband and older kids love the beach. Me, not so much because of the aforementioned sun aversion. However, since we love doing things as a family, occasionally we will go to the beach. There is a lovely island beach that’s just a ferry ride away, and as luck would have it, they rent sun cabanas! So if you are sensitive to the sun like me, or have small kids that you don’t want in the harsh rays, don’t despair! You can purchase your own mini sun cabana online and bring it with you, or you can rent one. Since I have discovered the sun cabana, the summer has gotten a lot more fun.
Street Festivals
Depending on where you live, you might be able to catch a street festival going on this weekend. Where I live, in Boston, there are many small towns around me, and I am typically able to find a street festival to attend every weekend. There are music festivals, craft festivals, ethnic food festivals, kid’s festivals, and so many more! My personal favorite is the craft festival, but my husband loves the ethnic food festivals. There’s something for everyone when you go to a street festival!
